They spent 17 hours filming that video around the meatpacking packing district, here in NYC, they started super early in the AM. She also had a cold, and was in town for a show, which she performed at the Jacob Javitts center. #funfacts
Good to know. Next time I visit n y c will go by there n remember the queen of tejano from her fellow texan from Houston. Loved the Barrie boy zzz too nice memories.
I've seen other youtubers react to Spanish music videos, but none compare to you Jamel, you are by far the best I've seen. I love that you have so much fun with these, you are genuine, your funny, you always find something positive to appreciate in the song or video, you don't judge or criticize, you facial expressions are the best, even before you say something I already know what your thinking. I've never commented on any other youtuber's channel as much as I have on yours. I am thankful one of your videos showed up as a suggestion, because that video introduced me to such a happy go lucky guy. I look forward to more videos. Keep up the good work and just know you have some here that will continue to support you. Gracias.
I was the Director of Marketing for Capitol Records/EMI Latin (Selena's and Barrio Boyz' label) back then, and oh how I/we wish we had a resource such as you and your channel to share the talent, their talent. Thank you for reminding so many of how special she was, and always will be. Shout out to her familia Quintanilla, Jose Behar, Manny, David, Claribel, and the entire label who championed her so respectfully, even after her passing.
RIP.... Selena would’ve blown the hell outta the charts!! Like I said before- A Texas treasure that the world missed and now should re-discover. Thank you for bringing her music back brother!!!
She looks so fricken' pretty, I remember seeing this video for the first time and was so impressed with the dancing, the clothes, the singing, aaah yes! Thank you for the reaction ♥
Awwww! Thanks for bringing back the happier times! Barrio Boys and Selena did great! I still listen to it to help me move the chores along - dancing with my broom and mop! :)
honestly, this song was so underrated! the video was so raw, the choreography at the time was on fucking point, the style, SELENA'S VOCAL RANGE! She is so versatile! She can go from ranchera to fucking pop! the fuck!
OK I understand maybe the production was little poor But you Can’t Denied Her talent Charisma, personality and her voice to Selena still the queen 👑 🇲🇽👏🏼👌🏽
I love Barrio Boyzz... My favorite boy band ever. They sang in English and Spanish and the dances routines were so good... 💜💜 Miss the old days. ¡De Puerto Rico pa'l mundo!
Those passing motorists were passing by classic greatness and didn't even know it. Yeah, the B2M days.😁 One of the guys in the Barrio Boyz group went to sing backup for Selena Y Los Dinos later on maybe a year or two before she passed away. Thanks.😍😘
This was one of my favorites it's just such a beautiful song and great groove. I really enjoy your reactions you're hilarious and I love how you appreciated the age on it how they had to dance with cars driving by..lol 😂 I loved that too
There is footage out there of Selena doing a live performance of Ralph Tresvant’s sensitivity. Yes! It’s amazing!! You have to check it out. She killed it.
Great Reaction! Selena and Barrio Boys were it in the 1990's. I remember I recorded this video and used to watched all the time great memories. Please more reactions to Luis Miguel, Jose Jose & Javier Solis. Thank you again! I love your reactions 🤗.
I LOVED the Barrio Boyz too! my fav of their songs is "Eres Mi Verdad". what a great collaboration. Selena forever!!! thank you for viewing these Selena videos. i remember dancing to Bidi bidi bom bom in a talent show a year before she died. love her!!!!
I love watching your videos reacting to Selena, I feel like someone else is appreciating her music as much as I do 😍 I listen to this song daily and watching your initial reaction, man oh man, I love it!
Oh God!!! 😭 Flash back! I was a Barrio Boyzz fan! Im still ❤️ love this crossover. Please, do more Barrio Boyzz reactions. "How we roll", "You're my everything", or "Una vez más". Saludos desde Mexico!
I loved loved 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽your reaction to this video it was one of my favorite videos of Selena because it was so R&B latinish she could have done so much!!! You were really getting into it❤️and it does take you back don’t it 👍🏽😁
This old school reaction is a good example of why I like a lot of things I like. The live feel, even down to the cars driving by. You nailed it, that whole "this is happening right now" vibe is missing from the multimillion dollar mini-movies coming out today. I still am hyped for the new MMM coming out in a matter of hours, but that's exactly because I know they will be keeping the live feel on a few tracks. That's a rabbit hole for another time.
@@jamelakajamal For example, one of the members of Mamamoo put out a low-key video in between their amazing big projects, with a guitar track that Hendrix would be proud of. All about feel, not flash. The song is called "Become Calm" by Hwasa also found under "Be calm" You are about to fall in love with an amazing voice, I dare you.
Jamel, you are so cute!!! Soooo adorable and positive. It's nice to see people like you. I'm Mexican, and I'm very surprised than you choose Mexican singers to react. I live in Mexico by the way, my english it's not that good. Keep doing like this!!
I remember coming home from elementary school and spanish tv being on and this video coming on. Back then I only used to lisen to hip hop and R&b and I thought this song was so dope with the moves and everything 😂
Hi Jamel, I had to finally say something to you, first Selena grew up in same neighborhood as me Lake Jackson, She drunk the same water, it also could be why we are similar in our bodies as well anyways, I came across you months ago, I was looking at her old videos and looking for reasons why our home girl lefted us to so soon because I miss Selena I think about what could've been for her. The way you adore her like the rest of us, well it's clear she wouldn't stayed in our small town with that talent that she had. She is 4 months older then me August 15, 1971 and hers Apri 16, 1971 I didn't get a chance to meet her or walk the school halls are run with her in neighborhood because her family (dad) moved to his home place Corpus Christ but I love that you keep her alive, you really honor and like her and it comes across. I can tell you have crush on her but funny enough so do I. I truly wish her family didn't move from Lake Jackson, I know who she is because she came from my little cute town called hwy288 Lake Jackson, Tx 77566 is who we are ☮️ We love Selena.
I remember like yesterday when it premiered in Univision’s music Saturday countdown . My mom was a fanatic and had this single on cassette. I was so proud cause I’m from nyc and she came up here to film this video. God I’m glad this was my childhood.
Here's a fun fact, as an addendum to my previous comment. When reenacting the astrodome concert for the movie with JLo, Don was brought in to play his part but not Freddy Correa. Freddy was replaced in the movie by Selena's original, and only backup singer at the time, Pete Astudillo, who wrote most of the hits songs that you've been reacting to in your channel. Although he continued to write songs for her, Pete started a very successful solo career 2 or 3 years before Selena died. You should react to some of Pete's songs. He's got an amazing voice!
When you said the van just passed right by 😂 Please react to Selena's live performance of Que Creias. It's so 🔥🔥🔥🔥she usually brought up a male fan from the audience and would sing it to them.
just discovered your channel a few days ago. I dont usually watch or enjoy many reaction videos but yours are very entertaining and have me laughing. keep up the awesome work!
Check their live performance from Tejano Music Awards in 1994. I remember when McDonald release a half & half Cd and cassette of Selena with The Barrio Boyzz I'm talking to be in this month November 1994 25 years ago.
Freddy Correa was a member of the Barrio Boyzz. He quit the band to become Selena's backup singer, along with Don Shelton. Selena's father was going to produce Freddy's first solo album. Then, the tragedy happened and his album was never recorded. Q Productions (that's the name of the production company owned and operated by Selena's father) focused entirely in producing Selena's posthumous album Dreaming of You and then the movie, of course.
She dances in heels 👠 all the time and sings perfectly live. I read something about her doing the astrodome live show without a drink of water. 1.5 hours

Back when Latin R&B could have been a thing.
Great song!
Wish we had more of these.
MateoPapiChulo yes! I wish more songs like this
Telemundo , Univision only support Reggaeton music
YESSSS PREACH! Omg this makes me miss Selena’s songs and she was a queen and such a great role model!
This is song is literally the precursor of the latin music we know of today. Such ahead of their time on both parts 🇲🇽🇵🇷
