      A pass can only be great if whoever you give the ball to can get the bucket, for the person to get the bucket he has to be open. In 2019 eastern conference final, Raptors didn’t leave anybody open, it was not a wall, it was 4 walls, a box. Giannis will not pass if any of the guys are not open, but in this final Suns left players open on the floor, that gave Giannis the opportunity to show off his passing ability. Between two equally good team, better defense team always wins. In conclusion, the Suns are disappointing.

    This is exactly right. The reason they struggled so much against Toronto had most to do with exactly this. The Bucks perimeter shooters couldn't make a shot to save their lives in that series. Bledsoe was a mess. And Giannis was on an island. Like you said, he's also developed as a player and a passer. Also, Kawhi was on fire and VanVleet had new baby super powers and was knocking down everything he touched from three. The whole "build the wall" thing requires everything to be just right. It's like in football, if you know a team cannot pass at all you can stack the box against the run. If you know a team cannot shoot a perimeter shot, you can stack the key.

And all those missed 3s in the let it fly system. The problem now is the Bucks figured out how to win in the half court and you said it well Giannis keeps getting better as hard as he works he really is playing smarter not harder. Game 6 is a glimpse of what is to come. Who can stop that freight train? If the Bucks core stays healthy it's going to be pretty hard on the rest of the league. Everyone says KD, Kawhi, Curry, Harden, Westbrook will take over the torch passed by Jordan to Shaq to Kobe to Lebitch... But damn man! Giannis and Luka are now better than Lebron and KD - at only 26 and 22 respectively. Imagine Giannis with Kyrie. Harden, Griffin, DeAndre and Joe Harris... Or Luka having Anthony Davis instead of Porzinigs, and solid role players... Those team will probably go 74-8 without an injury. Luka and Giannis is scary man! Seriously.. The NBA better pray they never think of getting together, or any of them getting Jokic to join them (who is quite close to Giannis). Damn! If Giannis follows Kawhi (who had Duncan, Manu, Parker, PG, Siakam, Lowry) or Durant (Curry, Klay, Iggy, Draymond, Kyrie, Blake and Harden) and get even a 3rd All-Star - Giannis will be unstoppable.

    Just ran into this video on my feed and gotta say, really good analysis. I've been a huge fan of Giannis for a while and it's been so amazing seeing him develop throughout the years. Even in his early days in the league, there were flashes of the kind of player he would become. Seeing him dominate the way he does now is crazy especially considering how much room he has to grow, like his midrange jumpshot and his defense for example. If his jumper becomes consistent he will be that much more dominant and unpredictable, and on top of that I can't think of a big with the defensive ceiling he has. He has the potential to guard smaller guys really well when other players his size and position can't. Anyway, thanks for the insightful content! Def subscribing :)

  • @trainerrob1622
    @trainerrob1622 3 года назад +15

    Has very little to do with him having other play makers. The only reason the wall worked in the first place was because of the BUCKS insistence on making him attack from the wing/perimeter be it as a scorer or facilitator. It was because they were trying to make him into Lebron James or Kevin Durant as opposed to David Robinson 2.0. NBA basketball has been played inside out for decades for a reason. If you have a dominate 7' and you throw him the ball in the post it forces the defense to show you what they are going to do. It actually brings the defensive 3 second call back into play as you can´t just be hanging out in the paint not guarding anyone. The Bucks actually wasted 2 or 3 years of his development with the Giannis 3 point shooting experiment. That time and resources should have been used on helping him develop a 13 to 15 foot turn around jump shot. This summer their minds need to be on Texas. Hakeem, David, Tim, Dirk. Giannis is so flexible in his skill set that they can take things all three of those teams did for those 4 guys and incorporate them into their offense to tilt the deck for him. When you have a guy who can be dominate inside you can get away from the space and pace trend and get back to bully ball.

    • @WillSoTrill
      @WillSoTrill  3 года назад +5

      I absolutely agree with this! I remember watching the Raptors series and it was so frustrating seeing them try to run Giannis top of key ISO’s. Giannis with a post game like that would be unreal

That being said... FREE THROWS. Gotta do better next year. Way too many games during season were lost or way too close, all because of missed throws by Giannis

    • @WillSoTrill
      @WillSoTrill  3 года назад +3

But rumor is he’s going to turn down the 3.8 million dollar option for his second year and hit the market to cash in on his success. I think due to cap space bucks could only offer him 5.8, and he’ll likely get a 30-50 mil contract somewhere else. My figures could be off but I believe this is the idea. I guess Portis also recently tweeted that the greatest struggle in life is the battle between your heart and your head. Great video.
    This is why Miami concerns me again. They didn't have the roster to play this type of scheme in the 2021 first round. However, now they do. Lowry, Jimmy, PJ & Bam with Morris off the bench allows for them to be able to hide Robinson and Herro a bit.
    Next year is gonna be a fun season.

    great Video brother.. You really know your shit!
    what do you think about this.. maybe next video if you agree?
    This USA team just proves that the NBA hasn't got better over the years. The 3 and No defense is killing this league. As soon as they figure out that over seas is playing like 2000 ball and 2021 is getting beat by lesser players because of style... they will switch the rules to bring the big man back!

      He was the best primary defender, but the team deserves credit for the team defense on him! Everyone played a role in forcing turnovers, misses, & cutting off driving lanes.

    That Raptors team had multiple players who have All Defensive accolades (Kawhi, Ibaka, Gasol, Danny Green) and then others who are very good defensive players like Siakam, Lowry. They played excellent smart defence not just against the Bucks but also the Warriors.

    U are right on point. Giannis improved and the team got a lot better with Jrue, Tucker, and Portis. Look at Portis's timely shots. That was missing for the Bucks in 2019.

    Giannis was amazing when he came into the league....... 60lbs of muscle messed up his shot mechanics....... but he is slowly fixing it........When he develops back that three point shot im telling you the league will shudder in fear

    • @WillSoTrill
      @WillSoTrill  3 года назад

      I also thought this could’ve been the reason why his shot got ruined. With all that muscle gain his shot started going. And Giannis with a consistent three is a cheat code!

    I agree- the supporting cast was extremely underrated. People forget Gasol was a DPOY, 3x All-Star, and 2x All-NBA. Ibaka also lead the league in blocks per game twice. Leonard was great but not enough credit was given to the others imo

    Giannis is not the same guy he was two years ago. And the Bucks are a much better team. If today's Bucks played against the Raptors of that era they would end it in a sweep or a gentlemen's sweep the least.

    2019 Giannis didn’t draw as much fouls as the current Giannis. It could be the reason of bad refing. Or I’m reaching and raptors just had top tier defence
