  • What's up storyteller! There's a lot going on right now (some good and some bad) and I need to find a way to reclaim some time for my bigger efforts. So let's talk. I want you to understand why I need to change some things and give you a chance to help determine how it happens.
The audio got a little weird in spots on this one. I did my best to clean it up, but there was some stuff I couldn't figure out how to fix. Hopefully it's not too distracting.

    Thanks for the update!
Sorry to hear you’re burnt out. I hope your re-prioritising works for you.
I hear 10 minutes the the best RUclips algorithm friendly length but like you said content comes first. Though I don’t think it’s a “cheap way out”. You do what you want/need to do.
I always enjoy your live stream stuff. Even if I don’t manage to make it live.
Maybe make several 10 minute long edits from every live stream you make? A nice streamlined video that people who don’t watch livestreams can see (almost like highlights) and that those who did what the livestream can rewatch and enjoy.
    All your ideas sound cool.
My favourites are live stream Collective magic building,, live reviews, prompt system building, pitch sessions/review, community pitch problem solving.
Guests might be interesting but I’m less sure what it’ll be specifically about so find the others more interesting.
I personally am not involved in RPG stuff so don’t have thoughts on that.

Oh I like the idea of creating structures by us voting for stuff. That sounds like a ton of fun.

I like the idea of livestreams. Even if we can't make it to the exact timeslots, we can go back and watch them. It would be helpful to have it sorted in a way that for x minutes it's one subject and x another. Or each livestream dedicated for 1-3 sub-subjects. Whatever works for you. Remember that your life needs you, we enjoy and gain from your knowledge, but we cannot replace your immediate family.
I stopped putting out videos, (still hoping to get back to it), because I couldn't continue that schedule. It's hard to just dial back, which I wanted but never found the time for.
Like I said earlier, I would enjoy the livestreams, even if I can't make it to them when they are live. As long as it's somewhat formatted and not just rambling, because I'd have a hard time finding the gems.
    Stay strong and much success.

I’m happy your doing good and handling things.
The ideas for the livestreams are also really good, the first, third, fourth and fifth one that you mentioned are particularly what I would wish for the streams but the others also have good potential for writing development and interactivity with the viewers.
It certainly will be fun doing something so different from other creators anyways.

I still have 17 unwatched videos to go on your channel. A lot of creators say the editing takes too long. If you can make videos where there is little editing, that might be a win.

A magic system based on air conditioners sounds challenging. Maybe as a source-draw. So, if you're in your car, you can draw from the magic provided by the air conditioner. If you're not near an air condition, your magic is weak-to-nonexistent. Does the cold of space make you infinitely powerful? Do people carry around refrigerated inhalers? Do magic users live near the geographic poles?

The livestream ideas all sound really fun. Especially the first and the third idea.
Also, taking care of yourself isn't a weakness so don't apologize for it. Whatever form your content takes I know it will be good. ❤

Livestreams sound a great. If I wasn't able to catch them live, I would rather watch the longer video in its entirety, than the shorter clips. My favorite options are building a magic system together, and you reviewing our magic systems.

Regroup and reassess, brother. I'm sure it's been a herculean feat to keep up this pace, especially with a full-time job. The time investment is prodigious to produce content of the caliber I have seen here.

I absolutely love all those ideas, but yes, do LIVE streams. I love those, especially with guests that also bring fantastic ideas. Maybe even subscribers/patrons as guests, every now and again. That would be fun. (not me tho; not good with live - lol)
Most importantly, tho, Clarke...take care of yourself & your family first. I, for one, am not going anywhere.

Air conditioners are already a little bit magic. Could have refrigerant as blood and a stronger heart that acts as the compressor to activate it

Sounds like you need a breather sir. Health and sanity first; otherwise nobody gets anything out of it.
I certainly respect your commitment to your style and quality standards (while not allowing THAT to stop you from doing things).
Do as you need; less editing sounds like more life. It's no cheap way out: it's still you and that means it's going to be fun and interesting.
Group creation sounds fun, reviews could work but the way I see it might be more work to you on the long run (but that's just me), challenges and conundrums sound fun too; all in all the first idea of group creation sounds the most interesting to me (breaking the process down later sounds reasonable; though that would mean taking notes on when the right moments would be).
Good luck, and thanks for reaching out. I know how our own mind can make us dread failure and how heavy that can get.

As long as it comes from you, any change of content style doesn’t seem any less appealing to me. I like listening back to long form stuff while I work, like a podcast. It seems like you have a lot of good ideas for new formats, so I guess you could try some new stuff and see what works. I’m rooting for ya, bud!

I've also been thinking of turning my content into an actual podcast. If you had both options, would you prefer the audio over video?

@@themagicengineer5314 Personally, I like video more. I like to see who's talking, and it's good for showing the listener extra information while you talk (like book covers). I also feel like it's easier to discover long form content on RUclips rather than podcast platforms.
