I never heard of Edward Rutherfurd and now I have 4 of his books on my to buy list! I love sagas and I love stories about Ireland and New York! So I put all of those in my shopping cart after seeing your video!
Oh wonderful! I hope you enjoy them!
It counts, index and all 😂. Sounds like some good picks, especially the New York one! Hope you have a wonderful time in England with your daughter, what a wonderful gift to give her. :-)
Thank you! We are so excited. Hoping to visit a few bookshops so I'll do some vlogs, if I can!
It counts 😊 I hope you enjoy whatever you decide on!
Ooh, I have a Rutherford novel on my shelves, “Russka”, which you’ve convinced me to pick up-but maybe next month as I’m reading War and Peace for march. GL with March of the Mammoths! :)
Ooh... How's it going for you? I've not read that.
I just found your channel as I searched for March of the Mammoth participants. Love it
Welcome! I'm so glad you found me!
yes, it should count. Close counts in horse shoes and book pages!
Haha! Yep!
I have had Rutherfurd books on my shelves for years and haven't read a single one. I soft dnf'd London. Do you think that book is the best start to reading Rutherfurd? You have some great sounding books. I hope you enjoy which ever you choose.
It's the only one of his I read and I thought it was a masterpiece!
@@MyGrannyEra Okay, thank you.
I’m definitely in and planning to read Paul Auster’s 4321 😊
Wonderful! Hope it's going well for you so far!
p.s. yes, I count the notes, etc in a mammoth.
I vote, yes, it should count! 801 plus the pages look a lot bigger than Rutherford's 😊
Yes, it's a big book! Not a lay-on-your-back-when-you're-super-tired kind of book. hahaha! Ouch!
I say count the Ackroyd book as well. Firstly you should read what you like as you said. Also there are other editions of the book that have even more pages so it you had one of those, this would easily count. I read several of Rutherfurd's books many years ago and have been meaning to read another sometime. I loved his storytelling so I really should go back and reread one or pick one I haven't read.
Yes, he is a fantastic storyteller!
I am reading grant by Ron chernow. It’s a chunker at 1062 pages 959 without notes and index. What a wonderful trip. I want to visit London, wales, Scotland and Ireland. My ancestry is 63% of these so I am super interested in learning all I can. Maybe some day. I can’t get anyone to go so who knows I may solo travel.
The first and third times I went, I went solo, and I'm going solo again in September. I think because I've read so much from there that it's just a good place to day dream and relax.
I say count it. I know that over 800 pages in any edition counts and the anchor paperback version is over 1100, so... I think it's just short due to the fact that it's a taller book. Rutherford is good. I read Sarum last year.
Oh that's good to know!
Just read the index!
* I mean read the index also!
Perfect! Haha!
Has anyone read Steven Demogorgon book?
I haven't!
