Really expected better of ITS. You should have interviewed someone with real world experience and knowledge. It was obvious that both of you have limited knowledge on the subject.

And they don't begin talking about it until 20minutes into the program.

If somebody is following you go into a dead end ? You see the flaw there ? Also, the dude with the softer voice is getting annoying with all the “ yes” “uh hmm” “yea” . He doesn’t let a sentence pass
    Without affirming something.

The title of this is very misleading. What you're describing isn't a Surveillance Detection Route (SDR). What you're describing is nothing more than having good situational awareness. A SDR is a specifically designed route with multiple turns and changes in environment over time, distance, and change of direction (TDD). It is calculated, precise, and if executed properly will draw out surveillance. You never go into the principles of surveillance or how a surveillance team operates. Those practices are vital for the person executing the SDR to know so they are aware of what to look for. I wouldn't say you have limited knowledge on this, but rather you have zero knowledge on this topic.

In my Fire service, address number side is Alpha, Bravo left, Charlie Rear, Delta right. Quadrant 1 A/B Quad 2 B/C Q3 C/D Q4 D/A. The idea if I were to need rescue I can communicate over radio specifically where I am (or think I am). Situational awareness in dark buildings I've never been in and being able mentally keep track of where I am and how to get out, life or death.

I like how the series "The Americans" portray the KGB's use of disguises, I wonder if that is something modern operatives do when going to a meet or whatever. If you are into spook stories and can stand something that is more drama than action I'd highly recommend watching "The Americans" all but the most recent season are included with a prime subscription.

They definitely still use disguises. FBI former counterintel agents were consultants for the show's creation.

I was taught a technique to find out if you're being followed by car it was make a right or left go up 2 blocks make the same turn as your last go 2 blocks make the same turn. It's hard not to tell you're being followed

or just drive fast, faster than the avg flow of traffic, good way to tell too

@@Mack_Dingo that brings you unwanted police attention and if they are the ones following you you just helped them.

Use glue sticks against culvert entries. Or glue gun. It creates micro spider webs. Very difficult for people to see or Intruders. you can put five or ten lines on the door in about five seconds.. take some practice. Very difficult to beat. Better than the hair trick. Use a hair dryer to get them off. Or just pick off

The spy museum is fun, but if you can only do one thing in DC go to the aeronautical museum and see the SR-71.

If you just need to know IF someone is following you while driving not really who they are driving badly is the best way. I've had a few encounters with road ragers following me, when I suspected that they were following I did things like signaled late and turned the opposite direction of where I signaled. When they were still behind me after doing that a few times I knew they were following me probably to attack me when I stopped or figure out where I live for the same reason.

Dip into Walmart if you think you're being followed and think you're life might be in danger... get yourself on camera. Go ask a store employee where the sugar is and point toward the person following you is (or ask if he's store security because you think he's following you, something the employee will remember)... all this if you cannot call the police for whatever reason (I don't want to know lol maybe it IS a rouge police officer you slept with his wife or whatever). Then drive to a gas station and then another and then another... get documentation doing odd behavior with a paper trail (debit card)

I like the three lefts to determine a follower. A dead end may end up being that deadly threat encounter that could have/should have been avoided. Unless you want the fight...
