Thanks guys...! Your opinions and images helped us decide on purchasing the c100 for our BBQ Pit Boys productions here on RUclips. Form factor, image quality, and "price" made it an easy decision.
We do like the form factor. The monitor seems to be a slightly polarizing thing... hate it or love it. I think that they really made improvements on the C300 form factor with this camera. Keep us posted on what you shoot with it. We'd love to see your footage.
Cool BTS guys. Thanks! One constructive feedback. It was confusion at times when you were talking about multiple cameras and not specifying which one by name. A lot of "this camera" and " that camera". Might put a graphic overlay at the spots to help clarify.
You commented that the C100 does not aloow for monitor magnification. I think. You can actually do 2X magnification triggered from the grip or a dedicated button.
The FS700 is hard to beet on value for options. This is by no means a scientific comparison, more of first impressions right out of the box. We'll be shooting chip charts soon and posting those results for definitive answers. We also just got our C500, so as soon as we get our recorder we'll be running it through the paces.
Hey guys, just ran into your video while looking for things about the C100, just to clarify, how does the depth of field stack up with the 5dmkIII? Thanks!
I just wish the Canon C100 had 60p even at 1280*720p. There is a way to get 60p from 60i go to ntown DOT>at and look for the post called Canon C100 - the lost 60p I'll send you pm with a direct link.
I would never pay that much for a camera without RAW option or at least a good prores. With the Black Magic Production Camera 4k coming out at 3k$ these will become outdated very fast. :) I have no idea why Canon or RED does nothing to combat BMD's new Cinema line.
I totally agree with you when you say that waveforms are needed on the Black magic 4k (Which they will properly give it in a firmware update). I think you kinda misunderstood what i meant. I didn't say that 100c is a bad camera. I just don't think that 5000$ is a good price for it when selling it as part of their cinema series. It is kinda misleading. Look. i never said this isn't a great documentary camera. But as a cinema camera (which it is markedet as), i don't see it being worth 5000$. The thing about XLR and good low light performance, RED camera have none of these and are perfectly fine without it, because you pay for the sensor and format just like with the Black Magic 4k Camera. Pro res is actually the standard broadcast format :)
Anytime, thanks for checking it out!

the baseplate you are using on the c100 is?

no disputing the worth of this lens. amazing
It's great! I like the c100. Greetings from Ecuador.
There is roughly one stop of difference. So f2.8 on 5d3 will give about the same depth of field as f2 on the C100.
Your videos brilliant
Nice review guys ;) But stop with that annoying jingle/music. It is a distraction of what your are saying on the review
excelent !!! BEAUTIFUL
great stuff anything on the af 101

what the awful 15 fps framerate of this video?
Couldn't watch this because of the ridiculous music.
Hahaaa...!! They call this a test!!
Please stop using music in your future videos!
Music is annoying, just don't bother....
