Cuz, it was made for the people, not for the money. Nowadays Almost all vocaloid song clips are made for one reason: simply to make money out of people.
For the reason that the other guy said, years ago no one had problems if you did him the favor of animating his song, or nobody decided to charge for doing it but nowadays everyone seeks to get money for their songs and those who do not have money for a good animator do it themselves and not all, regardless of whether they are Japanese,know how to animate ...something else is that these people do it in their spare time and maybe today they have a decent job in their country so they can no longer continue. this applies to many old videos that seem to be very well done

It was a hobby for everyone and just people are adapting to collect money and there are very bad prices, there are people who do garbage but want to charge a lot is a new world and part of this new generational shock has caused some of the content of quality get lost. My guess is because it was made before people viewed youtube as a way to make money. You can tell whoever made this focused on maximizing enjoyment for the viewer with the efforts they had making this (Flipping animation, animation timing that ooses joy). It was done for the sake of it, unlike a lot of the time today where people make things without putting their heart into it. To me, seeing someone put their heart into something makes it much better, for the simple fact that they put their heart into it. Do what you love folks, it's what everyone wants to see, because everyone wants to do it themselves. That is how you move past your limitations and change the world, by having fun working towards something that doesn't exist... yet. Breaking your limits is only possible when you set your heart at a point past your limits. This is called a dream, and dreams are what allows anything to be possible. I know this as true, because those who don't follow their dreams often resent those who have the courage to, because they resent themselves for not having the courage to. In other words, your purpose in life is to live it without any regrets, to live to the fullest. Ultimately it comes down to deciding to let your environment walk all over you or if you are going to be all that you are and can be. *Spoiler Alert* The simple act of following your dreams through thick and thin is the most valuable thing... not the changes to this world you may make, but the changes to yourself that you make to achieve your dream. That is what will make your happy, and is what i like to see in people. The courage to live. You all know this on some level, I'm just pointing it out. That's why the older vocaloid videos are so good. They where made by dedicated people who spent hours upon hours making them for the sake of making them (and not for money) inspiring other people to make their own because of how good they where. It was runaway inspiration from people seeing others follow their dreams and doing things they loved. Knowing something is paid and shilled is just not as inspiring. People see. People know. At least... on some level they do. That's what I think. Heh... you start looking deep into something... anything... and you start to see something resembling the meaning of life. If you paid enough attention to read to the end of this comment, then who knows what you would see if you really tried. Who knows what people that have the resolve to move past their limits are capable of?

If I'm not mistaken, Miku is no longer a Vocaloid Edit: Hatsune Miku is no longer considered a Vocaloid because it is not part of the Yamaha program anymore, it has simply switched to the Crypton program. Even though she is no longer a Vocaloid, she is the same Hatsune Miku as usual and will remain the same, it just changes that she is no longer a Vocaloid, although calling her that will not make a big difference.
