The lowrider bike is a highly customised bicycle inspired by classic lowrider car culture which first began in the US state of California in the 1940s. Lowrider bikes, which often feature long bodies with high handlebars and curved banana seats, appeared in Los Angeles and other cities in the 1960s, alongside the cars seen as a reflection of Chicano or Mexican-American culture. In 2017, a group of lowrider bike lovers in Hong Kong founded a fan club called lowbikerhk. They now have more than 20 members who have their own bikes and often ride together around the city to promote lowrider culture and lifestyle.

I love how they have the Mexican flag 🇲🇽 representing my culture too ✊🏾. Beautiful low rider bikes, keep up the passion 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
🙋
We need lowrider
Really respect to the guys with a passion for a hobby that's actually exercise-full, educational in craftswork and in general promotes healthy well-being. It's much better than kids and young adults getting into triads and drugs.
So true
Hhmp they act Mexican but ain’t 🤔🤫
@@jorgealanis8899 dont hate! they just love the lowrider chicano culture

Anyone who embraces the Chicano culture I salute. I like the way these guys put a twist of their own culture into these lowrider bikes as well.

This is cool. I haven't heard of this before.
Yes I also want to build I bike like them but sheesh that's a lottta money
But we also have our own kind of modifications
It worths the investment if you do it with a group of friends. Cycling is a healthy activity.
@@inuwooddog3027 I have a group of freind and we ride bikes but now in the pandemic we cannot get along each other and one of my freind has his own garage and he fixes our bikes and we all wash them having a bike is a great thing to have
The Japanese are the same, but they have american cars.

Fantastic! and informative clip - thank you
I like how much effort they put into the design of the bikes because I believe most people in America leave it plain.
No
We Mexicans goin global. Viva 🇲🇽
I guess the 90s finally hit the Far East.
The love of lowriders in HK, Japan and Thailand have been around since the 90’s. There were a few Chinitos that brought the lifestyle to Asia from SoCal, it was a bit underground but now it’s huge
I feel like everything is still stuck in the 90's in the US.
No 5g, no bullet trains..
@@condorX2 we have 5G and bullet trains are being built now here but yes we could upgrade our infrastructure.

Nice most of those bikes fetch a lot of money if sold. It’s actually a collectors dream owning those nostalgia bikes. Saw one selling for $1000 not cheap. 😊

Thank you for enjoying our culture I'm glad you guys are still out there representing 🤝👏🤗❤💨🌳
Much love from a Chicano in the states!!
his history is a little off. lowriders weren't "toys for the rich"
In Mexico they got amplifiers n big Kenwood system with big speaker's
I love cars, to others it might be a hunk of metal that gets you to point A-B but for us car enthusiasts its much more then that, its a lifestyle
Bikes like this went viral in Indonesia in the 90s
Total respect. Peace.
Pretty fly for a Chinese guy.
Cue "give it to me baby! Uhu-uhu!"
You need to connect with more enthusiasts from the states. Take em on a tour and go to some bars or whatever. Have them bring a piece of lowrider bike equipment to spread the love/ donations. Like a bar crawl in Japan.
Too many people in the states will say these people are just appropriating a different culture
In the late 1970,s we already have this kind of bike in the philippines more than 40 years ago i was a young boy in my grade school back then. The only difference is we dont dont have LED light back then no go pro, handhled camera to record it. It has been more than 40 years ago im in my mid 50, few more years and i am about to reach my 60 year.
That's because one of the oldest gangs in Los Angeles is the Temple Street Gang. They have been around since the 1920's in Los Angeles, along with White Fence, Clover, Primera Flats, Maravilla, Clanton, 38Street and Dog Town. Although Temple Street Gang is now predominately hispanic, its founding members were Philippino youth. Almost all the Philippino gangs in California, originated from Temple Street. Here's another fun fact. One of the founding members of 18Street, had an older brother from the Temple Street Gang.
These are fantastic!
Lowrider of the east.

Yes ! Haven’t you heard ? You just now learning about this ?
Thank you Chinese for keeping Mexican Chicano culture alive in your country

Why so little respect for bodyposture on your beautiful bikes?
My ratlook lowrider makes cycling a joy, because of the posture. I ride about 8000 miles a year (without the pandemic).
And she's beautiful!
