You don't but I recall some tested (I think it was a Number myth busting video) if you eat the fruit at the end of the raid, it'll get you the awakening tp. So you can go solo buda and eat your dough with the boss or a random elite left 1hit. It's quite costly but if you're desperate or drowning in dough fruits it can suit you I guess?
Dough raids are hard for me just because of those npcs who use dough. Once they hit you with that barrage it’s game over. I only usually make it to island 3 because of this even when I use buddha
