Raiden fully embodies Sam even upon his death - the way he's disarmed yet still fights on, how Raiden uses all of his limbs to injure Armstrong just like how Sam doesn't fully rely on his sword but with judo kicks, and of course the 'lets dance' upon holding his sword
You know, the song "It had to be this way" is not referring to Armstrong and Raiden but to Sam and Raiden, Sam's rage and thirst for vengeance lead him to lose while Raiden remembered the reasons of why he fights as the game progreses, carving his path to his final decision to end the war economy creating his own war (like Armstrong but with less mass genocide). the main thing in difficulty changes for boss battles seems to be the amount of damage you take and give. The moves all stay the same and if they're less spaced out it's barely noticeable. the main thing when i try to play on Hard or revengence is that there is more enemies that you actually need to give a more focus to, such as Geckos, LQ-84s, or mastiffs
+Droid96 I played the game at every difficulty, and i do not think that's true. You can clearly notice a difference in how the enemy attacks during the RAY Boss Battle. Sure, the main difference is damage output, input and the number of enemies, but i think ther AIs also change as difficulty raises.
The bosses themselves also have different attack properties, like how Monsoon launches way more vehicles at you, or how Armstrong can send multiple ground waves with each punch instead of just one.

Without nanomachines protecting him he is just a human with muscle.
@@XurenChao I agree with your theory but I also have another theory, raiden is a cyborg who can fully learn and adapt to things easily than a normal human. What if he adapts or connects to a weapon he uses? My only evidence for this when he holds Sam's sword you can see he kinda shakes and then says let's dance. Now when he connected with Sam's sword it could be possible that raiden acquired the extra strength and power when connected to Sam's blade. It could also be why he did so much damage at 6:28. Remember Sam's blade is heavily powerful and fully upgraded. That sword has been passed down and upgraded to the point where it can cut anything. Its frequency is powerful. Lastly it can show if raiden is connected to Sam's blade he can do major damage without it.
@@XurenChao I don't believe it was a concentration issue. The nanomachines had a weakness and it was the amount of energy they consume, the longer the fight went on the less effective the would become. On the other side Raiden's fighting style was perfect for the endurance type enemy that is Armstrong. Because rather than focussing all his power in a single blow like Sam, he would attack different parts of the body forcing the nanomachines to react and thus consuming energy.

His Nanomachines were getting weaker as the fight went on. Also, due to his weakening Nanomachines, Sam's extremely strong sword, mixed with Raiden's crazy strength, was able to damage all but the most heavily defended parts of Armstrong. At least, that's what I think I've heard.
Excalibursin Yep, he sliced his chest to take down nanomachine's shield or whatever from his stomach, just like *SPOILER ALERT LOL ALREADY 2 YEARS* Sam in his dlc.
Props for not cheesing the survival part. I was stuck on it for over half an hour before deciding to look up an easier strat (run away and jump over him)
There's really no cheese strat as far as I know, you either knock his health down enough to trigger the QTE or dodge him for around 2-3 minutes. It took him around 2:30 minutes of punching Armstrong either way, so I guess jumping and running away/ dodging until the next phase starts is safer.
@@christheplayer99 on revengeance difficulty it's a 2:30 timer, at which point he does an attack that's guaranteed to hit you and a cutscene plays. 3:19 holy mother of god, that sync made me spill all of the milk out of me
What was the actual reason they gave for Raiden being able to beat Armstrong in the end when he couldn't scratch him before? It probably has something to do with Sam's sword being better, but wasn't there some reasoning like Armstrong could only cover a limited amount of his body with the Nanomachines or something?
I've wondered this, but as the fight goes on you see the cuts on Armstrong become way more apparent, so I guess you're basically right
His Nanomachines were getting weaker as the fight went on. Also, due to his weakening Nanomachines, Sam's extremely strong sword, mixed with Raiden's crazy strength, was able to damage all but the most heavily defended parts of Armstrong.
At least, that's what I think I've heard.
Excalibursin Yep, he sliced his chest to take down nanomachine's shield or whatever from his stomach, just like *SPOILER ALERT LOL ALREADY 2 YEARS* Sam in his dlc.
top mem Its already been 2 years? ffffffuck
Armstrong's nanomachines use alot of power, power Armstrong gradually ran out of.
Oh shit, now I know where terraria's calamity mod got its' boss health bar design from, that's pretty interesting
ty this helped me realise all you need to do for fistfight is wait 2 mins 30 seconds
I'm like your vids cause i get inspiration ;)
Running away from him and jumping over his dashing attacks is the easiest way to survive this as all of his attacks can be jumped over on the same timing, which is more forgiving than dodges. I consider this a cheese as it's much easier than blocking and dodging all of his attacks from up close
@@textoffender3410 blocking isn't really an option if you're going for an S rank, as blocking while unarmed still damages you, just like if you parry MG Excelsus' attacks. So it's either jump and pray or dodge and pray lol.
HOLY Fuck the skills is real
Armstrong: How.. how did you defeat me with zero damage?
Raiden: *Lots of broken controllers, son*

6:34 The fact that punching armstrong in the ribs dealt more damage than a literal sword...
YOU CAN DODGE!??? WTF
Defensive offense move

Wow, you absolutely love your i-frames.
Wow, really amazing!
the best boss fight
that could ever exist on all dimensions of the galaxy.
I swear that part where he throws something at you is always the hardest part for me, Just like the sundowner's shields, I don't know probably because I'm using a mouse and keyboard.
You don't have to necessarily cut them per se unless you need healing or deal more damage.
@@dantecrailman8861 Haha I ran out of medkits since the Sundownder mission, I desparately tried to find medkits after but didn't find anything

Did you change the thumbnail recently? I remember it being different every time I revisited your MGR: R videos.
DON'T FUCK WITH THIS SENATOR!!!
nano machines son.
holy fuck dude
Great skills man
amazing timing.....
It doesn't give me nearly that much time to cut the damn rocks, it's like instantaneous and I die instantly
How do you avoid AoE damage while staying on his melee range? How do you dodge that?
Dodge forward into Armstrong as soon as he lets out the attack
@@painsufferingevenperhapsag2980 I meant, what are the keys used to make the action
@@steelwix light attack and jump at the same time, so for me on an Xbox controller it's X and A
I always liked this part
I CALL HAX.
Seriously tho, that dodge timing~
MynameisBrianZX you get invincability frames each time you press a time you press a dodge
it's not super hard, just requires a bit of practice
the thing is he probably practiced more on the first part then the second part. first time playing it I thought I was selflocked in that goddamn place

Has to be one of the best runs I have seen
I couldn't beat this boss on normal. I feel very inadequate.
tpfang56 I eventually did, but it took about half an hour on normal mode and it looked a lot less awesome than this. But as is the way of the noob.
It took me an half an hour on Normal mode, but then I backtracked to earlier levels for more health pickups, and EVEN THEN I only beat him because I beat the throwing part ONCE.
