- FOR ALL MY DAYS
From the film "Kidnapped"
Jack Fishman / Roy Budd
This film is now available on DVD and as a bonus unlike the Audio CD and VHS the music does not fade out at the end and we get the whole song.
Lyrics
For all my days in many ways
I'll think of all I've lived to see
The mountains high, clouds in the sky
I thank the Lord for sharing them with me
The summer's glow, the winter's snow
Are not to me just scenery
When tree tops sway I long to say
Oh thank you Lord for sharing them with me
Life I believe, love we receive
We shouldn't take too casually
For all my days in many ways
I'll thank the Lord for sharing them with me

I’m 80 and every time I hear this beautiful song I still get goosebumps. Beautiful tune and lyrics💕
I am 73 now and this makes me very nostalgic. Make no mistake, the world has changed very much, mostly for the worse I'm afraid. The relative innocence of that time has evaporated to make space for so many brash and ugly things.
It is a season, a bitter one. But take heart and know that nothing is permanent. This, too shall pass. Grace go with you.
@@THXx1138 yeah :)
The ugliness was there. We just didn’t have cameras in our phones to document. But it was there.
LOL, GET OVER IT ...
Ho 70 anni è condivido pienamente il tuo pensiero. Sono un nostalgico di quei tempi.
Con affetto
No costumes, no nudity, no paint, no manipulations of any kind just a pure clear musical voice that is as gorgeous as the lady who plays the guitar and sings her songs! I fell in love with Mary a long time ago.
Only heard her sing before today 'Those were the days my friend', but I listened to a lot of her songs today, pretty songs, pretty and angelic voice, she was so beautiful too. Who wouldn't fall in love with her? Why they don't have talent like that today, I have no answer. With all the strife and craziness we have today, it's wonderful to go back in time and listen to beautiful songs and a voice like her's.
for all those reasons you mentioned, good reason to hate this present world😥
Mary Hopkins what a beautiful voice she has God bless you Mary 😊 .
Back in the days when folks had common sense and the right kind of Pride!
So many girls looked like this back in the 60's, clean, slim, and no tattoos. Did I have crush on her.......yeah course I did. I'm 72 now and thank UTube for all these memories, and the brilliant people that upload them for me.
Bernie Andrews 🙏🏻👵🏻🌷sawaddee kha lsaid so as you 🇹🇭
I agree, I am 27 years old and I really love this music
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Agree she’s a beautiful girl but that’s genes for you. I’d hope you’d have thought her beautiful even if she were not slim. Talents what matters
Moomin Mai thank you for saying that. I'm curvy and appreciate what you said.
♡♡
THE VOICE OF AN ANGEL THAT SOOTHES THE SOUL.
This was a wonderful time to be young, so much genuine talent, an innocence that was beautiful to be part of, now lost & so sadly missed.
Mary Hopkins and the late Judith Durham, so much nostalgia.
Loved them both. Blessings on a few of my loves.
No S its Hopkin
Yes, I'm here again. Hang on, while I wipe the tears of regret off my keyboard. I thank the Lord for the 60's and the wonderful teenage years it gave me.
Mary Hopkin has a lovely voice, it doesn’t need props like bawdy clothes, special effects and flashing lights. Dancers flitting and wiggling about. Those kind of days have gone and so has our peace of mind, our innocence and joy of real things. Today everything seems fake, even our laughter.
Totally agree.
Plus she was such a cutie
She was pure talent.
What a pure voice, she sings so sweetly and strong.
And she still has that sweet voice. And still records.
I loved Mary.....im 65....i loved this song....the end of Kidnapped....Michael Caine realising all was over....very moving....i showed Mary to my 29 year old son....hes in love🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Hello how are you? So sorry for the infringe on your privacy. Beautiful song
i love how some people can be so talented and they seem so normal and dont try too hard. They just act like themselves and that ends up being so wonderful.
So much to say.I can only say,"Thank You Lord for all beauty.Thank You for the music.Thank you for all beautiful voices.Thank You for the musicians.Thank You for Marry Hopkin."I am so blessed for all these things
What happened with the good old days where have they
I'm only 60 and I love her and music
The most beautiful lady and voice!! For ever!!
The beautiful ways of this young lady's demeaner and persona!ity are virtually unknown among today's musicians and other entertainment personalities. We certainly have evolved, progresively downward into - sewer!
I was born in 1950, so these times were my time, such great times, great friends.
My wife and I lost a friend two days ago, her sister, she was my age.
Helen loved the music of those times, Mary Hopkin so beautifully sings those times for us to re-visit and remember.
Life had become unbearable for Helen, she is now in a better place.
She sings so beautifully and at the same time is so charming and sweet!
She was like the girl next door. So very pretty and just nice ❤
Bygone days for sure. Thanks for the trip down memory lane.
One of Pontardawes finest exports
Just when I thought I'd heard every Mary Hopkin song there ever was, I hear this! Thanks so much for posting! Incredible.
yes, alot of her recordings pop up in seemingly strange contexts but it is always nice to hear a new one.
I have been searching for this song for a long time. I heard it many years ago at the end of a film (which I now know was "Kidnapped". It's a very beautiful song and Mary Hopkin has a beautiful voice. I don't think anyone else could have sung this song as well as she did. It's a great credit to her.
Such a beautiful girl, such a beautiful voice,
I was in love with her at that time
and it's been about fifty years already !!!!
Loved
Time flys Jeremy, unfortunately.
I have always loved Mary’s sweet voice
One of the most sympathetic and emotional female singers of all times. Simply beautiful.
Mary always looks like an angel.
I am 76 love the music and loved how all the girls looked then.
A fantastic song by a brilliant Welsh singer
I'm 23 as of 2018, I randomly stumbled upon Mary Hopkin just recently. Her voice is so pure and beautiful. Why is she not more well known? Why are there so many singers and bands from this era that are just tossed aside?
Hi Anthony, she chose to stop performing but not recording, since 2005 she has been releasing her back catalogue and in a short time is releasing a new version of "Those were the days" to celebrate the 50th anniversary of it's release ... www.maryhopkin.com/ facebook.com/pg/maryhopkin/posts/?ref=page_internal
@@patrichmond7533 I dont know, but I would suspect that she values religion and family way more than being famous. And I do respect that. We all seem to assume that when given talent we should all do anything to pursue that
She was found by Paul McCartney. He actually wrote " Those were the days my friend".
A thing of beauty is joy forever...so, said W Shakespeare....
Again, she is beautiful for ever !,!
This reminds of listening to her in my childhood. Beautiful.
Love you Madam Mary Hopkin ❤️❤️❤️
I am totally in-love with her.. what a pure and beautiful voice and such a wonderful personality
God bless you dear Mary❤️🌹🌹🌹
What an incredible voice Mary has, i think she would have made a great cover version of 'When a child is Born' Mary if your listening!! 😊
I’ll soon be 64 and back in those days I had a big crush on Mary. So beautiful is she God broke the mould.
I've never heard this song before. It's so beautiful, calming, reminiscent, and it helps give a feeling of comfort and resolve.
It was the last scene of the film Kidnapped....Michael Caine as Alan Breck Stuart realising the Stuart cause is lost....to this music he stares wistfully at the highlands hes lost then strides heroically into the Castle....to his death.....cue tears, tears and more tears....😭😭😱🤣🤣🤣
Very similar melodically to Danny Boy. I love the performance here - such a sweet and pure voice.
What IS wrong with Anne Robinson?? This Welsh beauty is a product of a noble and heroic race. The tones in Mary's voice are glistening and trickling down my cheeks. I'm of Irish stock but I know somehow that Mary's voice carries something of all our spirits and origins. She pitches the sounds of yesterday and today with the hopeful sounds of tomorrow. All that and still be an icon of the 60's. In other words, talent like Mary's is timeless. With the very best of wishes for her....
This is the first time I have heard this beautiful song. It reads my mind. The gift of life is precious and we should live it with gratitude in heart. The older you are, the more aware you become of this simple fact.
THis song is too beautiful to be left out of Mary's known body of music !!
she's so beautiful!
It was the time of our lives🌻
What a lovely voice, what a lovely woman
she's such a beautiful lady with these heartfelt tunes. If I was ab, 60 , man I would definitely pursue and see what's going on
when i look back to these old songs i feel that the world has to change
The voice of an angel ❤
Never took much notice of Mary Hopkin. Heard this song after watching kidnapped. Just an awesome voice.
My Pin up star from the time I heard her sing. And when I saw her for the 1st time, I nearly forgot my own name what a sweetheart. Am 63 and still feel the same as I did when I was 14 .The song is playing in the background. That's today 31st October 2020.
Great memories. Mary is still recording and recently released a new Album she also has a New Xmas CD available shortly.

thank you Lord for Mary Hopkin.
We need Mary Hopkin back these days lovely songs 👍🏻
She never left - see www.maryhopkin.com/
pretty voice and fairy looks, perfect for her Wales background.
Loved you Mam, thanks for being my Mam, and telling me about this song in your last week. Xxxx
It’s enough too want to cry out of happiness ❤
❤ I love that song those were the good old days it's my favorite song double thumbs up😊
The tune is taken from a lovely old Scottish folk song called "The Water is Wide" popularised by Pete Seeger and sung by many others including The Seekers.
It's mentioned that the song is by Jack Fishman and Roy Budd. I'm sure they did write the lyrics but the melody is identical to the hauntingly beautiful folk song "The Water is Wide" which was first written down and published by Cecil Sharp in 1906 well before Budd annd Fishman were born! Neil Young's "Mother Earth", "Van Diemen's Land" by U2 and "When the Pipers Play," by Isla St. Clair also use the melody.
If you like "The Water Is Wide", check out Steeleye Span's version on "Time". Gay Woods' voice is amazing, not to mention Peter Knight's violin.
Lovely Mary Hopkin xxx
I will never foget Those were the days it was at number one in the charts the day i left school, What. a voice
Before i go to sleep, i listen to her sweet voice. I loved this song so much .❤❤❤❤❤
She was, she is, and she will remain forever 1 of the absolute talented singers n artists of her times. That golden great era, when beauty of songs n singers build on n measured by real human talents n not by digital n electronis effects n equipements as happdning today. God created the human to be the master on earth, n not controled by robots n digital technology. GOD bless n mercy the soul of the genious Charlie Chaplin, he was among the 1st to predect that 1day machines will replace humans, n he made his 1st film "Modern Times" to reflect n express his ideas n visions..since 100 years ago.
A truly beautiful song. Mary Hopkin had a lovely voice with a slight eerie warble that brings tears to my eyes. Compared to some of todays female singers she is an Icon.
That "warble" you refer to is called vibrato. All singers have this, some more pronounced than others
I totally agree. She, in my opinion, is the best singer of all time, male or female, and I also cry when she sings. Exquisite. Incomparable.
@@xyxoan1 She's brilliant but not the best singer of all time (sorry)
@@paullewis2413 I lilt 😊
Why do crabby old people have to always try to put down the current crop? Why not just say you like the song and the singer?
Loved Mary back in the late 60s, early 70s! This almost sounds like the melody from The River Is Wide. I don't remember this one.
Beautiful, perfect voice, how nice she is :-)
She had a voice like angel
Beautiful music and Mary Hopkins loved her 💗
i learned my grandmother loved her music, probably bringing down the traditions, although i always loved her beauty this lady. She was a real troubadour
Such a beautiful lady in every way, I do hope that Tony Visconti always loved her deeply and treated her with respect.
I absolutely love this song and the way its sung! It makes heart sing with joy and faith that this song gives me! xx
Beautiful words, beautifully song. Sheer bliss.
I think the melody You raise me up has found inspiration on this song
It sure sounds like it doesn't it!
This has always been one of my favorite songs since I heard you sing it at the end of the movie 'Kidnapped'. I have instructed my wife if I go before she does, I want her to play your song at my funeral service. The words and your voice has special meaning and comfort to me. Thank You Mary. Paul Gowdy formerly of Ireland now in the USA.
beautiful song and sung like an angel .thank you
Such a lovely lady & a lovely voice!
How i agree with Bear ! im 77 but do i remeber Mary ? yes i do ! what a beautiful voice . what a beautiful song , why dont girls sing like this anymore , instead of the ' nasal screeching' rubbish they inflict on us ! this is how you sing , from the heart . with perfect vowel sounds, perfect pitch ! oh. and i fell for her as well !
I sing like that, you just haven't heard me.😂
Perfect voice and PERFECT notes!
Iloveyou mary hopkins!!!
I don't know whether I should say thanks for this. It's 4-30 in the morning and I have to be up early in the morning and I can't stop watching these Mary Hopkin videos. She's every bit as great as I remember her all those years ago. I'm going to suffer tomorrow but what a beautifuk voice.

I don't remember this but remember the voice, a siren from my past, captures me and takes me back there.
A beautiful romance and a wonderful music!
A tremendously talented singer! I just love her songs and music from the Apple Records days and wish all of her recordings from that era including foreign language versions would be re-issued.
Thanks, Lord Jah, for sharing with us that beautiful voice of Mss. Mary Hopkin.
