I grew up hearing about it but I'm not sure I have (or will) under stand the magnitude of what went on... hearing about it on the news and not knowing what was going to happen next... it must have been scary but even more so as a young kid because he might not have gotten the full story but he knew something bad was going on. Of course September's not the same place now. Lyrics like this is why I love Alec's songs, they're so deep, I hope you genuinely love what you do and you keep doing it!

As someone who was about the same age as alec, i can say youre exactly right about kids knowing someonething bad, really bad, was happening but not being able to grasp it or not having adults be able to explain, they didnt know what was happening either. It hit some kids really hard whose parents watched a lot of the news coverage, theres some very sad stuff in the details of that day, especially for a 7 year old.
This song makes me sooo nostalgic of my childhood when you could be carefree and not worry about future,job,money,politics etc.

@@sadie4018 yes thats so true. Its great that i have more freedom right now and i could do a lot of things which i couldnt do as a child but i cant because i worry to much. As a kid you dont worry you just believe in stuff like santa claus and dont contemplate if he is real or not or if you have enough money to buy food you just believe in your parents and that they can fix everything. I could never believe right now that my parents fix everything its more like i need to help them fixing their problems.
Everything felt more interesting as a child; birthdays, christmas even snow. Now everything's the same and time flies :/

@@blackfluff438 Omg just that indeed.. I just have those random moments where I worry about life and it's difficult to stop and you overthink everything. I kinda thought I was alone in this, but I think everyone feels a bit like this. I'm now almost 17, so that's not that old I think, but it's still so different than some years ago. And I do think about the amazing things I will do in life and my dreams and all that, but right now I want to enjoy these years, but it seems like I'm just stuck between wanting to go back when I was a child and wanting the future to start soon. I still think life is beautiful for every age and we can just enjoy all the little things right now, if we start looking for them and appreciating the fact that we change and life changes with us. Every year we can discover so many more things! :)

This hits hard, someone I knew had a family member who was heading there, and they were killed, he still mourns every September, he sobs on the eleventh, it hurts him heart to know that someone that loved a close friend, had his family member die in 9/11.

I just wanted to say... I absolutely adore your music. The lyrics are beautiful, deep and heartfelt. It’s like you tell a story with each song you sing, and those stories are beautiful and draw pictures in my head. Your voice is high and some people criticize you for that, but I think it’s the most emotional, heartbreaking voice I’ve ever heard. Your songs are different from the songs pop artists sing about meaningless love and affair. I don’t even have the words to express just how I feel about all of your songs. Every time I find a song from you that I haven’t heard before, I listen to it immediately because I know I won’t be disappointed. A lot of your songs have often brought me to tears, and as a person struggling through life, some of your songs really hit different. I’m dragging this on, and I’m sorry about that, but I just really, really, love your music, so I really had to say this (even though you’ll probably never read it). Don’t let the haters bring you down, because no matter what they say, you’ll always be a hero to me.
