It blows my mind the way this mall collapsed. I’m not from Knoxville but we used to make several trips a year to that area and as a kid that mall seemed very busy. Unbelievable at what happened in a decade or so.
JC Penny seems to be stuck in a number of dead malls. I don’t see the company surviving in the mid term. So sad. As a kid I loved shopping there with my parents. Now I wouldn’t step a foot inside one of their stores. They’re outdated now and I fear cannot turn things around.
Hey man, I was just wondering if I can use that first song you used in the store tour portion of this video in my next store tour of a Sears at the end of this month, by the way great video
Lost Departments: and here’s that store tour of that JCPenney that I filmed just in case if you want to see it: ruclips.net/video/LHrrGhMBlK4/видео.html
Save the Penneys. Great to see the store tour. That store did look very out of date. It looked like an 80s store. Penneys has always been a favorite store of mine. Sucks that they aren't doing well. Seems that in certain areas they seem to be doing well, but in others they aren't. The store at fox valley is starting to look sad because there are two other penneys in close proximity. Do you still have Peru penneys footage. They closed before I started my channel.
Lets hope that if sears is going to fall that it might save JCPenney. at best but if it go's south at these dead malls it might start something that can't be stop.
@@LostDepartments True but in the state of Michigan sears fall saved my jcp from closing that and macys and Carsons closed both in 2018 I miss Carsons but in my mall there are a lot of canadans in the only one of two department stores in 25 miles so you might be right on this but still there is hope.
Jc penny is not dead company. They need to close the stores in dead malls or move them to old you ur us stores or old Kmart stores! They can survive longer then sears and pay less and radio shack! Good five min show of the store! The camera was shaking like Sault shaker.
I remember when the RUclips channel The Proper People explored the abandoned East Towne Mall in Knoxville, this feels like the JCPenney they went into, where it was completely moldy
This mall is about to be demolished. Some photos were posted by people who were allowed in to see it and this former space is a wasteland now. Rumor was the store wasn't profitable enough to fix the roof leaks and from the photos I saw they had a huge problem. All the ceiling tiles down, mold everywhere. Sad too, I grew up going here.
Your tours give off a Dan Bell vibe; especially the music at the start. I just started watching, but I'm loving the videos so far!
Thanks!
After watching the Proper People video, I’m surprised this store has gotten so bad over the years.

If Belk is leaving then this mall is over. Belk or Dillard's are always the last anchor stores to leave. A least here in the South East.
Dillard's was the first to leave too!!!

This store isn't in a dead mall anymore though!
My bad I just assumed the mall was dead.
@@user-ho3dx3od9y the mall's dead but this store closed 2 years ago meaning it's not a dead mall anymore!
I actually filmed a closing JCPenneyat a dead mall over the summer, and that was that mall’s last anchor store
I don't know if this would be interesting for a future video - Chesterfield Mall near St. Louis, MO is not doing that well either.
One day maybe.

The song is Cubic Z off the RUclips audio library.
Lost Departments: k, thx

Maybe...
Just recently when the proper people went through there to explore it major water damage and the building was destroyed
The Proper People went in here after it closed. The mold in that store was insane

Sears has barely anything now. They closed most of their stores. The benefits of Sears going out of business would have already been felt now.

The escolars originally had a black mirror walls and ceilings inside of them when it was east towne mall

Yeah it was a horrific site, it was crazy that there was that much dissaray in just 4 years.
Nice as always
My nearest location, the Sandhills Mall store in Columbia, SC, is doing well.
That's good!
I went to the Knoxville Center after this and the mall was super DEAD. A few months after I went the mall closed
