Joseph Vaz was a man who heard the sad plight of Sri Lankan Catholics and was moved so much to help them that while engaged in pastoral work in Kanara, he even thought of having himself sold as a slave to Dutch traders from Sri Lanka in the hope of getting into the island that way.
This Video contains a story of heroic courage - the story of a simple unassuming priest from a village in Goa who raced ahead tireless, with no concern for self preservation and prestige. This is the story of one who became a beggar and a cooli in order to serve God's people.
