Neal Casal
1968年ニュージャージー州生まれ。1995年 "Fade Away Diamond Time" でデビュー以来、これまでに13枚のソロアルバムを発表（ベスト盤除く）。心を打つ切なく美しいメロディー、繊細かつソウルフルなヴォーカルで、デビュー以来アメリカのみならず、ヨーロッパ各国で高い評価を獲得してきた。
また、ギタリストとしても確かなテクニックを持っており、これまでに Beachwood Sparks, Willie Nelson, James Iha, The Jayhawks, Mark Olson, Todd Snider, Vetiver, Sarah Lee Guthrie & Johnny Irion, Amanda Shires, Tift Merritt 等のレコーディングに参加。ミュージシャン仲間からの信頼も厚い。
2005年よりRyan Adams 率いるThe Cardinals のリードギタリストとして活躍し、初の写真集 "A View of Other Windows" 発表。フォトグラファーとしても高い評価を得る。2011年よりThe Black Crowes のフロントマンであるChris Robinson が新たに作ったバンド、The Chris Robinson Brotherhood (CRB)のリードギタリストに抜擢される。２年間全米中をツアーし、2012年に２枚のアルバムをリリース、ソングライターとしてもクリスを支えた。CRB活動中に、元The Grateful DeadのPhil LeshやBob Weirとの交流を深め、フィル関連のライヴに頻繁に参加するようになる。2013年のそのほかの主な活動としては、Wanda Jackson, Iris Dement, Little Wings (Kyle Field) のライヴにギタリストとして参加などがある。

A combination of a delicate tune, simple heartfelt lyrics of the kind Lennon excelled at, and a beautiful voice, make this so special.
The album 'No Wish To Reminisce' was a classic.The stripped-back version of 'You Don't See Me Crying' for 'On The Shelf TV' has brought tears to my eyes. Neal Casal was a gentle soul, much missed.
