Love seeing the young Elvis! I like seeing him in rather normal clothes when singing……the short sleeved shirt etc.

Wow this is exactly the song he is singing in that home movie. That was a home movie someone filmed in August 7th 1955 in Houston at the Magnolia Gardens. There was no sound and it was found in the 1980s

Great to see Elvis in his early days. The tractor shots were great to see too.I remember seeing a quote or video somewhere of Elvis walking away from the train when he returned from the army, and there was no one around him, and the quote was,"The last time Elvis was ever alone." From that point on he became too famous to ever be out of sight of someone taking his picture or fans wanting to touch him.He was never alone and yet he was isolated .

Did Scotty play 'some strange' notes at 1:26 or is it just the old audio which make it sound odd to me?

Scotty did improvised now and then with their same tunes where he felt a note switch would improve the fluidity of it or just like Elvis himself did with his vocals he would add or improvise some sound from the rich repertoire country, blues or just hick sounds one could use in a song included stops in a word or omitting it altogether. But some times Scotty would refrain from such sprinkles and more often than not would stick to virtuosity perfecting the sound he already accomplished, kinda like the Shadows guitar master (who was a huge fan of his) became so proverbially flawless.
Not sure who was so good also as Elvis in professional and even campy tricks of the voice delivery or even the best at it. Aretha sure had hundreds of rich possibilities one can hear she used as she felt on live performances, without abusing them tho' Much like Johnny Cash, almost no performance of his own songs was ever the same even by one note or by a wide sleeve, by intention not because he couldnt stay on the music sheet original notes fixed, he penned himself. Earl Scruggs could do both, perfect virtuosity delivering exact scores like twins of same song to the nanosecond executed and then made same song sound like another by one of those rare skills some have to do instantly what would take others days or weeks to make same song look like a variation in time, tone, key, stretching notes or verses but not all together, one after another in 5 or more versions in less than 15 minutes, each sounding like fresh new, and sweet making you wonder which version was best. Something many could have done many times if tinkering for hours or days in recording studios, before decanting for one take or parts of different ones before setting it for final edition to publish

Heard in an interview where two old ladies were explaining how Elvis already famous and before leaving for Germany, went out of the Motel he and his trio were staying and stopped them at their rope playing, as he was delighted by the song they were swinging with, which they said was just a jolting gibberish with tongue tricks from their school yard and was picking up much intrigued a few of the notes (I wonder which, Elvis must have picked up so many in those early years of his musical sensitivities and radar) of what the two of them still in Middle School knew and were enjoying in a parking lot open space, or wherever the many baby-boomer kids then, could play and adults would allow them without complain. They had one of those encounters many report experienced or witnessed, and had even a tender moment shared with the already King himself, who had great fun letting those 3 girls show off showing him some ropes _literally, fresh from those cheering playgrounds he was himself less than a decade before. Imagine, the King listening some of his young subjects the silly songs they play to, and making him singing them along! Music novelties again, the connection that made him so endearing to the new Youth of such Age. Besides all his other many gifts.
