Excellent. There's no other way to describe what you just shown but as extremely rare. The ice pick topic is about as hard to find as a four-leaf clover.
Matie @tactical combat systems or tribe 13 was talking about how ice pick like tools can puncture organs but it might not be as fatal because you can't cut out like a blade so he suggested a 4-inch when you're trying to enter into the heart from underneath, apparently of the four chambers the top two from the subclavian entry will destroy the attacker faster. He also talked about how the organs might have a tendency to continue to operate because of small pin like holes. I know Ed Calderone had you guys trained law enforcement but he was an operator that took on drug dealers in Somalian pirates so to each their own I'm just a civilian studying this stuff for self-defense for my family and counter ambushes one of my favorite topics because it relates to the OSS.
Even though he kind of knocked the whole idea of a puncture like tool we have to take into consideration The lethality of pens like the government issued ones, or those that are improvised by three-letter agencies. Ed Calderone famously shared how you could sharpen one up on carpet and it was fiberglass. He was on the Sean Ryan Show talking about how one of his students was able to put it through somebody's hand.
Usually you would Target the airway the eye the Carotid artery and the subclavian artery.
I love that I can find all of you guys in a similar niche. Because the topic of counter Ambush and these kinds of tools can only be found here with theese kinds of individuals.
Penitentiary logic goes into using something like a straightened out piece of fence and those are known as pokers and are considered to be fatal because they slip between the intercostal spaces of the ribs and penetrate deep into the organs with multiple stabs.
I love your blade work montages and the Filipino martial arts that you incorporate in it. I'd love to see you play around with an Indian Bagh Nakh, Flippy Lapel Knife, or an Indonesian Kapeck Kacil and see what you think about that. Also because I know you enjoy doing your own makeshift tools (I seen somebody do something on Instagram with an inhaler Spike.... You guys come up with creative stuff!) But please try out the World War II OSS Pitchfork tine leather wrapped I think you might like that. Don't ignore the small finger Loop either for retention. Matie tends to use like a rubber band and I've been incorporating that with all my systems but also adding on a ring. Tommy Moore at the Bartitsu lab does a crap ton of ww2 gutter fighting and talks about William Fairburn. I'd love to see what you guys could do with like a collab it would be so awesome to get everybody in the same room. For right now I'm just here.

FMA ice pick grip is edge out to facilitate slashing but I can see the usefulness of edge in to allow strong pulling motion to cut your way out. Nasty.

And with a knife its harder for them disarm you with reversed grip slash stab and punching is more effective and hard for them to get the blade from you is what i was told

I like your stuff, but holding a knife in ice pick edge back feels awkward to me. What do you think ?

It is the best way to use a knife. If you want a more traditional grip check out the MBC system. Libre and Shivworks are much more effective systems though. Both teach all 4 grips but both favor reverse edge, Libre favoring edge down and Shivworks favoring edge up.
