- Chiba-Makuhari, JAPAN - 1994 World Figure Skating Championships, Men's Free Skate - Elvis Stojko of Canada narrowly missed landing a quadruple toe-loop/triple toe-loop combination here, but he would skate brilliantly for the rest of his program. He would win the Free Skate, earning a 6.0 for Technical Merit, and end up winning the World Title here. A profile on Stojko precedes his Free Skate.

I think the craziest part is the fact that the technical content of this program would put him among the best even today. 2 triple axels, one Quad toe triple toe with step out, 3 combinations and solid triples. That would have givin him an easy 90 points technical in IJS.
THE people of the USA have been in love with this great guy since we first met him. 'm glad it was our judge who gave him that 6.0...Great work, Elvis! xoxo
This program and it's music was essentially Elvis. He felt it, It was completely him because of his love of his martial arts and you could see that every time he skated it no matter how he did technically. It's honestly one of my absolute faves and I come back to watch it often, still feeling the emotion of the time.
@S FG - You've nailed it!!!!!!!!!!!!!
such an iconic program, god it was flawless in its conception and choreography
Who cares what the judges over the years have thought... to his fans, every time Elvis stepped on the ice, he was a 10 right across the board!
I remember being 9 years old and seeing that first quad triple attempt... I recorded it on VHS and watched this program over and over again. Favourite skater of all time.
Legend.
the best of the best of the best!!!!

I miss Elvis Stojko.
So deserved after being stolen in Lillehammer. Maybe his best free program ever (even if the quad-triple was not completed, which he will do in 1997 WC). Elvis is still the King.
They would count that quad triple nowadays cause all the COP system cares about is rotations
Well in Lillehammer, he popped a 3axel and didn’t do his quad. They had to hit him on that there. Urmanov skated rather cleanly even if it was boring.
@indiatree He got so many other gifts in his career I dont really care. He is overall lucky and one of the most overrated skaters ever.
@@ralphbourgeois5875 Now, you go from whence you came and take all those sour green grapes with you.. What's that, you say---Okay, you just had a brain fert when what you actually wanted to say was "underrated" Well, then, on behalf of Elvis' enormous fan base, I give you our forgiven. But, a wee word of advice,-- just like those other types of gas escapes, ya gotta discipline yourself not to let fly publicly else the headwinds emanating from Elvis' powerful and masterful skating will blow you down. IT IS WRITTEN!!.
@@ralphbourgeois5875 Yes Elvis is by far one of the most overscored skaters in history. I am glad he is totally forgotten and a bitter loser coaching in Mexico today. Karma for all his unearned medals he fraudently took and bought by Skate Canada.
What an amazing skater! He did an awesome job! I wish him luck in his venture to be on Broadway!
素晴らしい!!文句なしのワールドチャンピオン!!👏👏👏
This was amazing. I don't get it; his style is wonderful. It is musical; he had great body lines to go with the music. Such powerful music and well done even with the flip out of the triple toe afterr the quad.
It was too masculine for the judges taste.
@@gardengirl7446 Did the judges know they were judging the mens event?
do you have the 1994 nationals skate of elvis and kurt?
