    I am doing this trail at the age of 59 in August but am staying at the hut at the top. I'm glad to see someone else that elected to go down on their "bum"! That is my strategy! Ha ha! That portion of the trail is what I am most concerned about. Thank you for posting this!

    • @tubbatravels

      Hi. It took us 12 hours to get up and down but we stopped lots to film and take it all in. We originally wanted to camp at one of the two huts but we took a day longer on the laugavegur trail so we had to make this one in a day which was really do able.
      The bit where we came down on our bums is short really, took us about 20 minutes and it shouldn't worry you. Nothing bad can happen on your bum. Hope you have fun. Do check the weather before departing.

    Hi both.👋
    I finally got the time to relax and enjoy all your vid.
    Wow, 4 mins in that looked like a squeaky bum moment.
    Well done👏👏💪
    Fair play.🫡
    Map girl must have had her weetabix and was off.
    That looked so tough but you smashed it. 9.20 mins in looked scary.
    Black lava looked really cool, loved that.
    Only from 2010. I remember it well, we were in Kos in May, flight was delayed I think. I really don't like flying and felt so sick getting on the plane home.
    Always best way to go low and get down on your bum.👍
    What an an amazing place to hike.
    That waterfall from you viewpoint. Oh man that really was something else. Huge!
    I loved that video.
    Nice pint at the end.
    Thanks.🫡👏👏👏👏

      When in doubt Jamie, sit down, do nothing. That's got me this far, he he he. I usually scare quickly but I did ok on this one and when map girl is on form she waits for no one.
      2010 really does seem like yesterday doesn't it. How time flies.
      I do like a waterfall Jamie as do you and there were some crackers on this hike.
      Thanks for keeping in touch.

      I never knew it was called the cats spine, so thank you for that. I've looked up a few RUclips videos and their go pros do make it look super scary. I am probably the worst person I know for heights, my legs go cold and to jelly but honestly, this wasn't too bad. Taking care it was ok.

    Thank you for this great sharing. It really helps in giving us some perspective of the entire trail. I am planning to do partial of the hike from Skorga to Baldvinsskali (Little Hut) and return on a day hike. Do you still recall how long you took from Baldvinsskali to Skorga?

    • @tubbatravels

      Hi, it's hard to say as we were stopping to film so many waterfalls and send the drone up. If we hadn't done all that I think it would be about 6 hours.
      However we didn't come down the usual way. The lady in the hut told us of a ' better ' way down, so we did that.
      You could go up the normal usual way from skogar then at the hut ask the lady who works in the hut the alternative way down so you could do a loop. It's easy and you can't get lost and it meets up with the usual way.
      I say the lady's name as well leave the hut, she made us a free coffee and I mention her in the video.
      Good luck.

    • @wuichong
      @wuichong 15 дней назад

      @@tubbatravels Thank you so much for your suggestion about completing it in a loop, that's a great idea! I certainly hope the 'alternative' way down is equally well marked. Anyway I am grateful for your sharing. Thank you and have a great adventure next!

    • @tubbatravels
      @tubbatravels  12 дней назад

      @@wuichong it's really easy. Just ask the lady but there are so many other waterfalls to see by going the alternative way and it meets with the main path.
