  • A very difficult place to find and almost impossible to see from the road in the summer months.
Finding historical details of this school I almost gave up on but did track some information down.
Called the Lilyfield school, this current 1933 building replaced an earlier 1916 school that was destroyed by fire in 1932.
After the school was closed in 1954, it was renovated to be used as a community hall.

Hi Wade. being hidden in the trees, difficult to find, and not visible from the road, That is a very GOOD thing. What is missing from this tableau ??
Graffiti, and destruction, by anyone who has looted the property.

Not like there's really anything left in there to loot.

Hidden well enough to have avoided the curse of graffiti. Great find!

This one surely had some serious integrity! Thank you so much for sharing!

I discovered this one about 10-12 years ago in the winter. It still appears to be in decent shape considering it's age. A local elderly gentleman drove by and stopped to talk. He had attended Lilyfield many years prior. We had an interesting chat.

What an awesome find indeed! I can almost hear the voices of kids gone by especially in what was probably the gym with the stage. Very cool!

If a structure like this was to be built in 1980 and abandoned in 1990 it would be in much worse shape than this beautiful school that's been abandoned since 1954. Nice find, thanks Wade.

What? Material science increased since the 50s

Probably a ton of asbestos and other harmful chemicals too
