    Plus, he retains the 5%.
    Royalty deals aren’t terrible, if the shark bags you the $10m or more contract. Both parties are motivated to make it work. If production costs drop, then the royalty is also less significant.

    It is a wifi timer to make you think you need something on their programmed schedule. There is nothing on the frame to measure airflow nor can it measure dirty air.

    my guy bought filter for $30 and think to himself its very expensive and decided to launch his own product.
    Then, proceed selling the filter replacement for $20
    isnt it better to just buy the one use filter for $30 rather than paying $99 first time.

    • @Sharpie_17
      @Sharpie_17 7 месяцев назад

      $99 is for the frame & first filter
      every filter they mail you after that is only $20, you will end up saving a bit of money over time & not have to think about your air filter at all.

    He should have countered with a royalty that only lasted until the investment was paid back. Kevin has made many of these before.
    If you've watched Shark Tank, you know Kevin is simply very risk-averse. That's why he loves royalties so much. But if you can assure Kevin he's unlikely to lose money on a deal, he's more than willing to take a shot at it. I don't think a *perpetual* royalty needed to be part of it. I just think the guy took the wrong approach and didn't show enough confidence.

    Shark Tank Woosh Update
    Things improved in December 2023 when the company announced a partnership with 3M, with the plan to integrate 3M's filtration technology into its smart air filters. Additionally, Woosh collaborated with Copeland's Sensi in a bid to enhance its smart thermostat integration.Dec 6, 2024

    Maybe I have no business sense, but if he sells one unit for $99, why is a $0.50/sale royalty such a big deal?

    • @glennmathewgarma8565
      @glennmathewgarma8565 9 месяцев назад

      I think its per filter. Not per unit.

      i assume it's because that $99 is already being broken up in 99 ways. Transportation, workers, insurance, damages, expansion etc.

      we didn't hear his profit per unit. probably factoring in everything at the end, $.50 ends up being significant
