Thank you. I was wondering about God's anger, and found this a logical explanation, in line with the rest of Scripture. I had not kept in mind that God had warned against this very thing beforehand. Israel knew: salvation is from the Lord and who doesn't want to take that into account and pay the symbolical tribute for it, falls under judgement.

Y would anyone put off the most important decision they could ever make in their lives concerning eternal life? If you die today are you going to heaven? In 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 The apostle Paul tells us what the gospel is: "Moreover, brethren, I declare to you the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received and in which you stand, by which also you are saved, if you hold fast that word which I preached to you-unless you believed in vain. For I
delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures.
Gospel means "good news." Your debt has been paid, the death penalty has been paid, you are free.
Matthew 18:3 - Jesus said: "Unless you become like this little child you will not enter the kingdom of heaven."
This is how to be saved, it is simply child like, as simple as ABC:
A - Admit that you are a sinner. This is where that godly sorrow leads to genuine repentance for sinning against a righteous God and there is a change of heart, we change our mind and God changes our hearts and regenerates us from the inside out. Romans 3:10 As it is written: "There is none righteous, no, not one." Romans 3:23 For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. (We are all born sinners which is why we must be born spiritually in order to enter the Kingdom of Heaven). Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. The wages of sin is death, in other words our sin means that we have been given a death sentence, we have the death penalty hanging over our heads, that's the bad news. But here's the good news: the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Ephesians 2:8-9 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith & this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God, not by works, so that no one can boast.
B - Believe in your heart that Jesus Christ died for your sins, was buried, and that God raised Jesus from the dead. This is trusting with all of your heart that Jesus Christ is who he said he was.
Romans 10:9-10 That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.
C - Call upon the name of the Lord. Every single person who ever lived since Adam will bend their knee and confess with their mouth that Jesus Christ is Lord, the Lord of lords and the King of kings.
Romans 14:11 For it is written: "As I live, says the Lord, Every knee shall bow to Me, And every tongue shall confess to God." Don't wait until later, do this now. Romans 10:13 For "whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved." "O God, I am a sinner. I'm sorry for my sin. I want to turn from my sin. I believe Jesus Christ is Your Son; I believe that He died on the cross for my sin and that He was buried and You raised Him to life. I have decided to place my faith in Jesus Christ as my Savior, trusting only in His shed blood as sufficient to save my soul and to take me to heaven. Thank You, Lord Jesus, for saving me. Amen."

2 Samuel 24:1 Again the anger of the Lord burned against Israel.
That’s the general idea of the chapter. (God’s wrath) And he (The devil) incited David against them (The Israelites) Here the author is explaining how everything happened. (However the book does not claim an author)
In ancient’s time they used what is called continuous writing.

    Exodus 30:11-16
    The Ransom Money
Then the LORD spoke to Moses, saying: “When you take the census of the children of Israel for their number, then every man shall give a ransom for himself to the LORD, when you number them, that there may be no plague among them when you number them. This is what everyone among those who are numbered shall give: half a shekel according to the shekel of the sanctuary (a shekel is twenty gerahs). The half-shekel shall be an offering to the LORD. Everyone included among those who are numbered, from twenty years old and above, shall give an offering to the LORD. The rich shall not give more and the poor shall not give less than half a shekel, when you give an offering to the LORD, to make atonement for yourselves. And you shall take the atonement money of the children of Israel, and shall appoint it for the service of the tabernacle of meeting, that it may be a memorial for the children of Israel before the LORD, to make atonement for yourselves.”

I have a different opinion, I think that Israel made The creator furious because they were accusing David (satan made them) because of the Bathsheba case, but god had already forgiven him, in kings 15:5 says that that was the only mistake of David. So when David found out that, he wanted to know who were against him and he tells the commanders to number them 2 Samuel 24, and Joab defended them 1 Chronicles 21:3 and 6. The creator became furious with David because he wanted to make justice with his hands 1 Chronicles 21:7 -8 so David asked for forgiveness because of that, God forgave him, and he killed the one’s that were conspiring against David 1 Chronicles 21:14. That is what I got.

As it is written Satan stood up and caused david to count. Father In Heaven told Abraham that his children would be as the sands of the sea. Who was David to count the children? That is to say what power was bestowed upon him to say who is and who is not of that Abrahamic seed. That is for The God of Israel to count! If he so chooses. I think you mean 2 Samuel 24:14 - If you read chapter 24 in The Message Bible it is a little clearer. David would rather be victim of God's judgement than pick a punishment that would be administered by man. Afterall, God would show mercy, man, not so much. Hope this helps.

David basically picked three days of the sword of the Lord (Option 3) The 2nd option was three months of being swept away before David’s enemies.
That’s why David said: I’d rather be in the hands of the Lord than being swept away by my enemies. (Human hands)

What's wrong with it is that it uncovers a contradiction, between where the story is first told in 2 Sam 24 and when it's retold in 1 Chron 21. This story is dangerous ground for anyone clinging to the idea that there are no contradictions in the bible. In the Samuel passage where this occurs, God is behind the taking of the census; but in Chronicles, it's Satan behind it. The "God can use Satan to fulfil his purposes" argument does not solve it. That might possibly work in the book of Job (even there it has its problems) but it does not work with the census verses. With those, it's a question of agency: in the Samuel passage God is the source of the action, in the Chronicles passage Satan is the source of the action. Why would the account of who prompted the census be different in two different passages describing the SAME EVENT? And not just two sources, but God and devil who are supposedly in opposition to each other.

We paid the Royal half shekel during the King's census to remind us of the fact that we were a Prized Possession and a Royal inheritance belonging to YAHUAH. In this way no Israelite Man could boast in himself. This would also keep the King of Israel in remembrance of the fact that He himself was also considered as being a part of the same Royal inheritance and that He was specifically placed on the Royal throne of Israel to serve the Royal inheritance of God and the Royal Priest who were a Prize Possession who served the Living God!...That's all.....Shalom.
