Fine parts for a fine mashine.
A CNC lathe I would have cranked these out quick-like. Also I have ran a screw head machine in the past which can crank out a lot of threaded parts quick. The threads are cut using a rotating head with 4 chaser bits 90° from each other. The feed is automated and will pop open once the thread reaches the stop length.
A horizontal bandsaw with hydraulic chuck could have cut all of them to length in one pass.

The stopmotion at the end gave me som good old Lemmings-memories =)
6:20 that additional threading step also helped make sure your deburring hadn't messed up the start of the threads as well.

Great video, and I want to say that I watch the Wintergatan updates every week, very excited seeing everything coming together. As this seems to be focused on continuing to develop practical engineering lessons, I thought it pertinent to point out that although this machine, and the 3D modeling involved show significant creativity in mechanical engineering, it is important to maintain a manufacturing focus when designing the parts. As a manufacturing engineer, I walk the line between design and manufacturing every day. Watching your video after watching Martin put these together make me slap my head knowing that the inside radius of the bend could have been accommodated in the 3D print design and a -0 +10mm tolerance could have been given on the thread length to eliminate that step as well.
Again, this video was awesome (you gained a subscriber and look to be gaining much more) but I always think about how much better we could make a product if we drove cost/ complexity out where there is no benefit to keeping it in. I do know that these were donated and adding complexity didn't increase cost, but his ultimate goal is to outsource machine(s) to have backups in the future. just my $0.02.

Brilliant video. I am impressed with the level of precision and care that you and all the other outsourced parts builders for the Marble Machine X put into your work.
I believe that the machine will be a very significant part of musical history. You will be able to show the Marble Machine X to your grandchildren and explain how your contribution.
I have a suspicion that the machine will be around long after we are all gone..

That said I would have changed the design a bit to allow for more variations and save you time. E.G. the small radius can be added to the 3D printed part.
Thanks! Indeed, martin designed the 3D printed parts like that, but I wasn´t sure at the time how exactly he did it and so I just wanted to make sure they will fit no matter what on all details of the rods. Timewise all steps went quite quickly except from the thread cutting...
But you have a good point!
