My favorite Arkham game is Knight, sure the story isn't the best but the atmosphere, the details in the city, the side quests were just awesome. I also like the overall point of the game, and how it is a direct sequel to Origins, which was about Batman opening himself up, trying to make connections, and Knight is about how Batman is failing to protect the people he loves.
Yeah this game is awesome. I love the idea of it being set early in Batmans crime fighting career, and he's much younger, less conservative, and underestimates a lot of his enemies in this game, like Bane and Joker. I also love that the GCPD don't trust him yet so you'll sometimes face swat teams, Dark Knight style. Makes me want a Rorschach game. But my favorite has got to be Arkham Knight. It's the full package. Gotham City, Batmobile, the combat is perfected, traversal is incredible, the graphics, the driving around smashing through everything in your path, the story, the epic knightfall protocal true ending, scarecrow, joker, watching the open world evolve as you progress the story. So much detail in the city you can explore it forever. Such an awesome game, and did i mention that ending? Batman facing his fears and defeating joker in his mind so the fear toxin doesn't work on him, and then weaponizing it against crane, and Gordon punching him in the face while he's screaming at demon batman? It's honestly such a beautifully executed game. I always understood the hate, but never agreed with it.
Arkham Knight is my favorite, the story may not stand toe-to-toe with City or Origins but the gameplay does it for me, so many ways to take on predator encounters and the combat feels so good.
The Environmental Storytelling, and the use of dramatic irony is part of what makes Origins my second favorite of the games. The fact Gotham's systemic corruption and moral apathy is on full display, in full contrast to it being Christmas Eve, a time of joy for many people.
I enjoyed your essay. Honestly Arkham Origins has been my favorite since I completed the game the first time back in 2013. It gets a bad rep because of how bad it was on launch day. But I love how it takes the best from Arkham City's gameplay and either improves on it (detective mode) Or refined it. I don't get why we never got to build up more specials like in that game. And yes, I love the story. I love how they accomplished the Batman meets Die Hard vibe they wanted. I love how the criminals act like Batman is something scarier than a man in a costume, and how they react during Take downs. Only Asylum and Origins do they scream during certain take downs. The only thing I didn't really like was how in one day he met 10 of his rogues gallery the first time. I might be off but I think it was 10. I know Copperhead, Electrocutioner, Sheva, and Deathstroke really dont count in the comic universe as part of his gallery, but I mean Joker, Mad Hatter, Riddler, Bane, etc. And while I did want to see Black Mask take the lead I still like seeing how Joker becomes obsessed with Batman because of how he saved him twice. Also while the BTAS all stars werent available I'm glad we got Bullock! I wish we got more of him and let him go off like he used to in the show. I dont like that he's crooked, I hate how every movie they make a character that started as bullock and make him crooked and unrecognizable. I think that would have been a good side mission if we were to try proving Bullock's innocence on a case and its difficult because of how many times he's bent the rules.

I didn't know how city was going to top it but I was shocked as I fell in love with this game even more than origins. But my absolute favorite will always be City! It was the first one I played and the one that made me fall in love with the arkham games. It's easy to come across as biased because this is one of if not my favorite Arkham game but I truly believe Arkham Origins seriously deserves a remaster for modern consoles.
My opinion on the Batman Arkham series is each game is the best at something, Arkham asylum has the best environment, and is just good at giving a fun Batman story that seems like an average Batman story, it’s not over the top or city ending like the other games but it’s a solid starting entry for the series Arkham city, it has arguably the best story and shows very well how Batman has to make tough decisions that can cost the people he loves for the sake of the city and it also has great boss fights and a great DLC it’s arguably the best game in the Arkham series Arkham origins to put it lightly your video said it best it’s a perfect backstory for the joker and Batman and it shows very well young Batman compared to the other games of an older Batman and his gadgets in this game are fun to play around with (my personal favorite) Arkham knight was a great experience that had the Batmobile that everyone wanted showing that they listened to fans, had great story telling and just as great characters, and had the greatest gameplay
My fav Batman game has to be Arkham knight Now I know some people would disagree saying it’s relying on the bat mobile too much, it has bad boss fights, it’s side missions sucks. BUT I still love it, the combat in this game and movements are the best in the series in my opinion, beating up them thugs and criminals is fun and challenging sometimes but yet still fun, even the Batmobile’s controls are fun af bro, will take you sometime to get used to them but still fun and oh boy the side quests, some sucks like I said yes but most were actually pretty fun like PYG one and the Azreal ones like masterful Season of infamy is a must play too since it adds more lore, more gameplay and more missions that are even better for example like Mr.Freeze’s mission And the dlcs on this game are also good like the red hood dlc, GCPD lockdown and matter of family
I’ve always enjoyed this game and this is a brilliant review. The only arguments I have are as followed 1. The map is too ambitious in size with a complete feeling of emptiness 2. Combat felt rushed, not sure how to explain this 3. When you say people are returning to this game I agree but that’s only because everything after suicide squad and Gotham’s knights have been considered complete trash (I believe if Gotham knights have have reskinned as a ninja turtle game it would be an absolute hit and suicide squad should just have been rebranded as a non rocksteady game) I forgot where I was going with this… Excellent video

I'm playing it now and maybe my favourite batman game. I didn't expect to like the origins game without the original main actors but i love it.

White it has Major problems, it is by far the best game in terms of not making Batman seem like a complete Idiot, except in one big moment.
