I am an old retired plumber, the brown stuff has been a big part of the 55 years of my working life, you are so correct its the urine that causes all the smells and cleaning, keep on top of that and the composted poo should be a walk in the park...🤣🤣 great explanation and I think you have covered all the subjects most people don't want talk about...well done.
Thanks for talking straight about the Nature's Head toilet. So refreshing to hear the real life ins and outs. Nature's Head need to get you onboard. I can now see we could go this way. Thanks heaps Sian. 👏👍
Answering all the sheeet questions…. ;) Thank you for being open and up front with this review of the compost toilet. The most in depth user knowledge I have seen. 😊
Fantastic episode, well done on the explanation of the composting toilet. I find it ridiculous some of the concerns that people have, so crazy. Congratulations on getting Chris to dig the hole Keep up the awesome work
Hi folks. Great vid on the composting loo. We have the same natures head model and are very very happy with it. We have just one thing to add to your very informative info. We recently had an issue with the composting. We had an explosion of tiny flies/bugs in the van. I traced them back to the compost. The bin beside the toilet had slipped back and switched off the fan. When I opened the toilet they flew out by the thousands. I googled & found that the fan keeps them from setting up camp in your loo. I had to dismantle everything and clean the bejesus out of it to get rid of any eggs. Put it all back together and made sure the fan was always on & finally life in the van has been restored back to perfection. My concern is if you leave the loo between trips & you want to turn the fan off I would make sure all the entry points are sealed. Personally we make sure to leave the fan on! Anyhoo as always thanks for all the info you folk are amazing.. Would love to cross paths one day. Happy travels.
Well done Sian very informative your channel is great for tips and real world caravanning. Where as some others are trying to sell things all the time, you get sick of it. Cheers Steve and Rochelle.
Another awesome video. Personally for us I find the canasta easy to deal with as most of our trips are there or four days. I wouldn't definitely go compost if we started travelling full time. Awesome work guys.
Well! firstly Cheryl likes your hair and says it suits you, I agree. Where did you get those little chocolate biscuits with the smiley face are they Arnott's if so we didn't find them when we were over there🙄. I must admit I am glad we didn't have one of those loo's in our camper it would have taken us all holiday to use it!😉. Anyway going to the garden centre now for a bag of compost to practice! You did a brilliant job Sian with the description, thought we were going to get a demo there once😙. Blimey didn't you drop Jayda in it...Take care love to you all x
As a former plumber I love these shit questions and answers💩💩🤣🤣🤣 Again very informative yet funny😂👍🏻 I’m still waiting for Chris to demonstrate how men need to go to the dunny🤣🤣🤪
We think out Natures Head is great in freeing us from having to find dump points. For people that think disposing of the waste by putting in in a plastic bag and throwing it into a solid waste bin is bad, I would remind them that this is no worse that people throwing out disposable nappies. I find that with 2 of us using it once a day for solids after 24 hours it is just a black earthy mix this is quite unoffensive. You are right it is the wee that is noticable. I empty it every couple of days into a toilet or making a shallow hole to let it soak away. I think this is better for the environment than using chemicals in cassette toilets which then need to be treated.
Oh Awesome! The Shits Two!! Lol!😂😅😊 wonder if there will be a third in the series…. “The Shits III” 😂😂 Awesome info guys! Thanks for tackling this topic once again! 👍 💩
Poo and A’s ya mean lol ya covered all the holes 🕳 in this story . I guess it’s like people eating spiders 🕷 and Bugs 🐛 most won’t but some will 🤪🤪 Hahaha the Poopers at End how fitting lol 😂 . Ya doing everyone a great service talkin about this stuff even if it gives some the shits ☝
Is anybody out there using a Cinderella toilet which burns / cremates your 1s and 2s to a cup full of ash per month. On a van you would would use the LPG option as the fuel. They are popular in Europe.
Great video. Very informative. If you are ever in need of an upgrade, check us out. We would love to tell you about our removable solids bin and power agitator that make having a compost toilet just a little more user-friendly. Best of luck - OGO™ Team
I currently use a composting toilet at home. So when I move into my trailer it won't be an issue for me. I'll continue to use the composting toilet. So much better for the environment than the cassette with its chemicals in there or other types with chemicals in them. We really need to get used to the fact that this comes out of US. It's our own product and we need to be able to deal with it. There is nothing bad about it if it is treated respectfully. Trees love it as do compost heaps. Just like animal manures. 😁😂
It’s not composting when you put it in a bag and bin. It doesn’t break down at the tip. Cassette toilets however end up at the sewerage farm and get processed and is better for the environment. But I suppose you aren’t sponsored by a cassette toilet brand 😂

When you throw your 💩💩 in the bin what bags do you use?
As a former plumber I love these shit questions and answers💩💩🤣🤣🤣
Again very informative yet funny😂👍🏻
I’m still waiting for Chris to demonstrate how men need to go to the dunny🤣🤣🤪
How do you know when to empty the poo side. Is there an indicator?
As someone that works in a caravan park I wouldn't want a bag of this in the bins when people leave on Sunday Morning and I'm emptying the bins.
Gr8 Q&A…well presented 🤙

The Air Head toilet is better, easier to remove wee container, proper toilet seat and handles to empty poo container
