So, it did not really meet the stated ambition of the government (i.e., removing black money from election funding). There were no benefits of the bond apart from political parties collecting huge amount of money which was otherwise impossible. The government can reintroduce the electoral bond again while making amendments to it such that it is constitutional.

Aap chronology samajhiye: 1) Businessmen does bad things 2) ED sends notice with penalty of say 100 crore 3) Businessmen go to the regional offices for 1 on 1 meeting with ED regional heads 4) After the meeting, Businessmen, ED and BJP are happy, as Businessmen gets discount on penalty and has to only settle for say 50 crore 5) Businessmen in most cases do hawala transaction and in "some" cases for big payouts buy the electoral bonds. So the "some" numbers you saw on electoral bond disclosure is far lower than actual numbers, electoral bonds might have been brought only by 20%-30% of companies who were served ED/IT notice, rest money is through hawala. 6) ED either postpones or settles the case and everyone is happy. In some cases gives tax exemption, grants projects, changes policies in favor of businessmen etc. Moral of the story: BJP Happy, ED Happy, Businessmen Happy! All businessmen, Chartered Accountants are aware about this but everyone is getting something or the other benefit. What about common man? - who cares! Actual impact: Businessmen now has to recover 50 crore by hook or crook, so he exploits the rules further, exploits workers, exploits environment. On the other hand BJP, uses the money to further their agenda of communal polarization by employing dumb 20-45 year aged kids as city and regional operations incharge for handling money and media (whatsapp, news papers, websites, channels, youtube, local organizations etc.). And, the common man keeps paying taxes, hopes for better infra and life quality and gets pennies instead. Sabki daal gal rahi hai! Aap chronology samajhiye:
1) Businessmen does bad things
2) ED sends notice with penalty of say 100 crore
3) Businessmen go to the regional offices for 1 on 1 meeting with ED regional heads
4) After the meeting, Businessmen, ED and BJP are happy, as Businessmen gets discount on penalty and has to only settle for say 50 crore
5) Businessmen in most cases do hawala transaction and in "some" cases for big payouts buy the electoral bonds. So the "some" numbers you saw on electoral bond disclosure is far lower than actual numbers, electoral bonds might have been brought only by 20%-30% of companies who were served ED/IT notice, rest money is through hawala.
6) ED either postpones or settles the case and everyone is happy. In some cases gives tax exemption, grants projects, changes policies in favor of businessmen etc.
Moral of the story: BJP Happy, ED Happy, Businessmen Happy!
All businessmen, Chartered Accountants are aware about this but everyone is getting something or the other benefit.
What about common man? - who cares!
Actual impact: Businessmen now has to recover 50 crore by hook or crook, so he exploits the rules further, exploits workers, exploits environment. On the other hand BJP, uses the money to further their agenda of communal polarization by employing dumb 20-45 year aged kids as city and regional operations incharge for handling money and media (whatsapp, news papers, websites, channels, youtube, local organizations etc.). And, the common man keeps paying taxes, hopes for better infra and life quality and gets pennies instead.
