Kolam - Indian art form - drawing of geometric patterns - Happy New Year

Kolam (Tamil) is an Indian art form that is traditionally drawn using rice flour. It is meant to be put at the entrance of the house. They are drawn in beautiful geometric patterns. There are different types of kolam. This is a demo of a sikku kolam - a specific type drawn between dots. My interpretation of a sikku kolam. The end joins the beginning. Just like the earth comes back to the same relative position every year. Happy New Year
