This sounds very similar to my story, except I am American, raised Christian, and only now am I learning Sikhi and finding that it is describing my personal experience seeking The Divine. Times of struggle and darkness caused me to search for the Light and move towards it. Now that I hear Sikhi, it's like hearing the voice from my heart.

my parents trimmed my hair when I was 4yr old.
    I cried a lot .
but later my mom realized that she'd done a mistake. she told me to wear turban.
now I'm 20 it just started my new life in sikhi.
Now I go to gurudwara and do seva there.
and learnt how to tie turban.
every time I see turban it reminds me of our guru's and their supreme sacrifices.

But Guru will be with you forever never leave Gurus teachings. Waheguru has always been part of life and any pain and happiness which itself is temporary but has been Gurus plan.

waheguru ji ka khalsa waheguru ji ki fateh
i am so happy and feel very proud of you jagmeet, i know the journey to sikhism is very complicated at times, i am also going through this journey trying to figure out how to be a better sikh.
i never new that we did not have to go far for answers, they were always there with us .i started reading the guru granth sahib in english version and as i kept reading i started feeling more at peace more focused and at the same time tears came out of my eyes. I felt as if i had been touched from the inside, never have i ever felt like this before.Waheguru made me change my ways of life, and made me realise who i really am. From drinking every day, smoking, drugs, not coming home at times putting my family through misery ,Waheguru made me change my ways, and it wasnt a slow changing process. It was like a miracle,
it was an instant 360 degrees turn.I have quit all my bad habits and feel very good and at peace, and not ashamed of myself,
i feel like sitting with sangat. i feeling reciting wahegurus name. I feel that I am not lost any more, I feel that I know the journey and path I have to take.
i want to say thankyou to basics of sikhi, the way you guys define sikhi is the best,it is so simple and clear .

I am learning GOD helps all people who call on him like this fellow, when they really pray and plead and cry out to their heavenly father. Some "beliefs" help people reach God while some make it more difficult.
GOD seems to act more "tangibly" when our hearts become tangible to him.
My Truth is the Bible and Gurbanii - As two TRUTHS overlaid are still TRUTH.
I'm a Christian Sikh and Proud - Baptised a Christian - 4K sikh - I am not Sikh by Birthright and I respect that. I wear everything but the sword, as my mouth is my sword. Can I wear one? Yes... but I'm less effective with metal detectors and frankly when I encounter police (the crazy god dude) its easier to set their minds at ease by being unarmed - and they are usually very willing to talk when their guard is down and they trust your intent.
I definitely am FOR ALL 5K - But GOD wants us to use our heads too. I'm not baptised a Sikh - so not having a sword is not a failure.
The important think for me is GIVE ALL HOPE, and try to serve humanity. Remember how Jesus "broke the rules" - He healed a man's hands on the Sabbath. Sometimes we have to use the minds God gave us, and scripture and knowledge so we are equipped for every GOOD WORK.
    Praise Our Creator
    Christians, Honor Your King
Do Not Condemn and Judge (Says Scripture)
Only TWO LAWS Jesus Said: Love God, Love Neighbor
These rules work for ALL Humanity - Give it a Try!
    --Christian Sikh

We followed similar paths. A love of life and a reckless desire to grab it in handfuls is a trait of all Sikhi..the Guru is there to teach us not to lose that but to temper it...to direct it. All the weapons in the universe are nothing against the spirit of the Sikhi.

very inspirational video veer ji thanks for sharing your story, there is a lot to learn from your story. basics of sikhi is doing a great sewa teaching the world and spreading the message of Maharaj. i often feel punjab is going away from sikhi, youngsters are cutting their hair and the reason i think is lack of proper parchar. I believe anyone would be inspired to become sikh if they are taught well.
