i just hope that "things are going better" goes further than liver to direct manager
because this entire situation rn in the first place (if things are true) means that there STILL is a rotten apple on management side because the inside source did go to management and nothing got done (again, assuming everything is true), and they only started taking action AFTER it went public and therefore couldnt be ignored

If they are as serious as Kuro is implying that they're trying then I imagine they will do what they need to in order to clean up. This is very good to hear. I certainly wasn’t expecting management to improve in that company, but I was hoping they would and it seems like some of them are. But I do get why some people don’t want to hear it. Likely they either just refuse to believe change can happen or they’re not really here to support anyone they just enjoy the drama and want to see the bad company crash and burn.

Or they see all the people who have left the company broken and disillusioned and have a hard time reconciling it with what he is saying. Michi, Pomu, Kunai, and Victoria all left with every intention of entirely abandoning content creation because of what they dealt with in the company, and 3 of those were after the point Kuro is claiming managers started to massively care about the Livers.

@@JubalVoid well, he is right that most people, if they change their behavior and no one even takes notice but continues to shit on them, they will give up on changing. i'm not saying it's right esp from a company who has a responsibility to their employees, but we should be prioritizing the happiness and safety of the people still in the company. not saying glazing the company for being slightly less bad, but publicly point out the areas they're doing better in and comment positively on it, so at least they'll know that it's seen and appreciated

    • @JubalVoid
      @JubalVoid 15 дней назад +1

@@lilaculots but no change has been seen, they still are stealth suspending people, projects and events are still being canceled or mismanaged, and they're still protecting sketchy people because they're popular while letting newer and smaller members whither on the vine. All we have is super vague defenses like what kuro offers here, that don't line up with anything we're seeing. I wish nothing but the best for every talent in the company (well, except maybe the black screen folk), and I think it'd be a lot less painful for all involved if it happened from the company improving, but I'm not seeing any evidence of actual improvement.

Also, I am not gonna lie...
I am glad he said things are taken seriously in the company and things are changing for the better.
As a former fan, it feels a bit healing to hear that.
There are still people I like there, but with my oshis leaving and the whole online space around it just becoming unbearable, I just couldn't bring myself to enjoy streams anymore.
It was a very quick rise to fame for that branch and it definitely seemed like they bit off more than they could chew. So I am glad it all grinded to a halt a bit, even if sadly some bad things had to happen before it did. And yeah, so ot's healing to hear they are going forward with hopefully a more careful step from now on.

The tax evader thing really shows how deep-rooted misinformation can get. Once people have a perception of you and aren't looking to change that perception, they just repeat the same thing despite evidence to the contrary, and that becomes the only thing they know you for.
And yes, this also applies to the rainbow company. I've noticed improvements just based on watching the current livers. There's still issues, but i understand it's impossible to satisfy every issue and everyone. Still, that doesn't excuse mismanagent or failing to consider the concerns of employees because it would be difficult or because "that's just the way things are." The current situation is also concerning, but they've initiated an independent investigation and I hope things are carried out properly and transparently.

I felt so bad when I saw them start that up. Specific folks deliberately pushed this topic back to the forefront. They essentially tried to use Kuro and his struggles as a convenient way to change the conversation away from the rainbow worker accusations and it was scummy as hell. It's a shame it caught on with the misinformed folk out there and got to this point, of course, but from what I saw a small group of jackasses started that landslide on purpose.
As for the other thing, this really seems to be something people struggle to understand; there are good people out there stuck working for bad companies, and they're doing what they can even if you can't see it. No company is a monolith, and people usually have a wide range of good and bad qualities to them. Don't hate people without a good, direct reason, and never dismiss the chance for them to be redeemed for past mistakes.
If you want someone to do better, you have to let them try and do better.

  • @Reemseadee

When I see the comments section, it's a real shame that the voices of people who work or have worked there are distorted or completely ignored because of dramatubers and drama clippers who don't even work there. People just listen to the words of random youtubers who exaggerate things to sensationalize everything that comes from the company. People just want to have one opinion that's delivered by an outsider who doesn't work in the company. It's not just a problem in vtuber community but it's everywhere when you go with the first story and don't try to prove it wrong or not.

  • @dr_pibby
    @dr_pibby 12 дней назад +2

I'm glad we're hearing this from him since we wouldn't get a believable answer otherwise. It would be weird if they didn't make efforts after that. The most obvious changes is that now the talents are getting psychological services paid for by the company, which was way long overdue.
    Side Note:
It still pains me to still see viewers react negatively when ex-livers bring up their previous coworkers in a positive light. Like bro, they were friends before the branch opened up, why are you telling them to stay away from each other? That fiasco would not change their friendship. I blame it on the grifters and their misinformation.

the only thing that pisses me off is when people say " i dont watch them or i stopped watching them " and then say i wish they improve , but then they wont stop visiting anti spaces which will clearly only highlight bad stuff and then they will doom post and say ohh its not improving and start attacking people who still have oshis there , if u actually kept up u can see clear difference between 2023 and 24 with rules, management ,freedom of livers and even the interest of livers towards content , yes they still have a longgg af way to go and improvement is never linear but at least they are trying and didnt just stay rigid in their ways. Also its inevitable that everyone's experience with a company will be different , not even cz of favoritism but even luck , because some peoples managers really are passionate about the livers content but others will just want to do their job in the safest way possible and so many other factors like how much ur goals align with the company . its just frustrating to be constantly called ohh dick riding the company if u utter a positive word about anyone or anything associated with the company in the general vtubing space

Most of us niji haters really just want the best for our oshis. There are plenty of former niji talents that I never watched once that now I actively follow. They're great. We support oshis, not companies. Heck, most have done better viewership-wise after leaving. All of them have done significantly better mental-health-wise after leaving. If niji turns a new leaf, great. Every corpo has problems, from niji to holo to vshojo to phase. Some people still want to be part of corpos, for various reasons, even if they're crap. If a company is hemorrhaging talent, and every single talent that has left all are doing significantly better now mentally, and not a single one has anything nice to say about their former company, then it's not too much of a stretch to say that a lot of the company's current talent might be happier elsewhere too. Heck, Kuro's vague and roundabout defense of them here distills to "they're crap, but at least they're trying now," which doesn't exactly inspire confidence.
We just want our oshis to be happy. That's it. And it's very clear to everyone that this company in particular is not advantageous to their talents' mental health.

@@raddaks2039 so do fans . i dont think anyone simps for corporations in this day and age , even when people say i love (insert corpo name ) we mean the livers as a group not the corpo , the only difference is we simply believe that they know what they are doing and have a good reason to be there and will have a good reason when they leave for those, and i assure u regardless of corpo every liver will do better mentally out of the corpo , its never fun to be under someone and follow rules especially in a creative job and the extent to how much it sucks for them will vary, but ill also say sometimes u gotta prioritize the hustle over staying or before staying in ur comfort zone, no one will stay corpo forever but everyone who opts to has a good reason and will definitely benifit from the experience (like PR, managing and having connections , community control) , i dont think we as strangers on internet know what they prioritize or choose to do or what will make them happy and speaking of viewership, its just a bad way to measure success, if the creator is good with it then it should be the least of our worries. We all want our oshis to be happy but they are adults responsible of thier own mental health and i will support regarless if they leave or stay, content creation is very individualistic job and u cant go "my oshi hated this so u in the company should hate this too " .

Because even if my job experiences were good on a personal level or by the environment (mostly), I have read job contracts lol. And I have spoken woth friends my age who had different jobs. And things happen there.
And a similar thing goes for interpersonal things. The stuff I have seen and experienced in my group... A lot of people would have a fit about it. But that's just life. People need to experience a little bit of life to know how shit works.

Sorry... I wanna believe Kuro but I won't accept that things got better until the company starts paying them more than 2% of merch revenue and the livers can afford enough to make ends meets.
Listen, I don't wanna talk about "drama", he said this, she said that, blah blah blah blah, no. I think no matter which "side" we are on or how black, white or gray we see this situation, we can all agree a company shouldn't be taking THIS much of any revenue. No matter how small or big of a part the merch revenue makes to the total money a talent should be getting, taking 98% of it, is a lot, way too much.
The management can try to be better, and we thank them for that but what difference does that make in the face of your source of income not giving you enough to eat, pay rent, pay taxes, etc. For things to be better, the company as a whole should change.
The company doesn't see the livers as entertainers and people, it seems them as assets, products, money, and that's not a management problem, it's a capitalism problem, and it's sad... and I hate it.
I apologize for the long comment, I wanna mention as a final note that this comment is very emotional because I used to love Niji and their different talent but their recent practices have just made my opinion of them worsen over time. Still, I don't come to disrespect Kuro, or anyone, I truly respect the different perspectives and voices that have been put out there regarding Niji, and I do wish it was more looked at through the lenses of the problems with the company both publicly and internally rather than "drama"

    • @kennethchambers594
      @kennethchambers594 12 дней назад +1

IMO, considering that Kuro himself, and others who left the company, while working for them, were able to quit their old/main job, they CLEARLY can afford enough to make ends meet, but to each their own.
On the 2% of merch, While I do believe it could be higher, something akin to 4-5%, that's only for the non-personalized merch, not things like Voice Packs iirc. The profits for merchandise which specifically requires no input/work from the talents such as keychains or acrylic stands of characters, which the talents again, do no input for design or front the costs of production for, which is essentially autonomous, effortless and additional profit for the talents which just scales with their popularity.
If you look at that Company's Profit splits, merch is their largest contributor by far, meaning that while yes, if the revenue split was higher, clearly they'd earn more, it still brings in a fair sum for the effort involved (minimal besides marketing), and this is again not including the personalized or anniversary stuff which iirc has a higher revenue split due to time & effort of talents.
Even if I say all this, yes I do hate capitalism and you aren't in the wrong line of thought.

The following is without any insults, slurs, or Kuro-specific drama.
    1. Being surrounded by corruption doesn't make it normal. Not even my lowest-paying job was as lacking in job security or employee benefits as the jobs Kuro mentioned.
    2. On the contrary, what's going on right now is part of the big picture. Livers should feel more comfortable speaking to their own company about workplace abuse than to drama channels. The rainbow company should've learned that from the Mr. YAB incident.
    3. Kuro doesn't have to divulge who he spoke with, but one major complaint is that some talents are getting preferential treatment in terms of event invites and promotion. For example, a now-ex-talent who had no promotion aside from their birthday merch once said that they weren't even informed about an event, much less invited. Every single Liver deserves equal company support.
    4. The rainbow company hasn't been kind to the fans either. The merch seems to have improved a bit, but concerts with lower ticket prices, better tech, and fewer cancellations or staff-induced mishaps would generate much more goodwill.
    5. Sure, every company has it's antis, but there wouldn't be this much people protesting if they didn't at least care about the Livers.

Some of these comments are upsetting and what Kuro said is correct - People who hate will keep hating, no matter how much he, an actual person who worked there and is friends with people still working there, therefore has way more knowledge about everything within the company, says to people who only watch these people speak from their technological device and is zero insider information.
I'm very happy Kuro spoke about this, as someone who is a fan of the livers within the company. It is very clear they've been making progress lately but people won't see that because their only source of information is Reddit and dramatubers and also because they're stuck in the start of the year - when we're already at the end of the year. Even that situation at the start of the year was twisted into something that wasn't reality and gave massive backlash towards people who didn't deserve the harassment they went and still go through, but some people aren't ready for that conversation.

Honestly. It can be argued that lots of people got their fame at Niji and they have their current success because of it.
But we know the calibre of talent that left Niji. They were held back by Niji and garnered much greater success post Niji.
To be frank with you. They have always held that level of competence and held that personal drive and so were always going to find the success they seeked, since they always had the skillset to do it. All Niji did was steal their money. Because as we now all know, they didn't pay shite towards the talents' success besides a model. Everything else was all out of pocket. With the amount they paid towards the company and the amount of help they got in return. They would have come out on top way more by just sticking to being independant.

Disagree. The attention one would get from joining a corporate as big as that company, IMO, is priceless. Much more of an upward battle as an independent vtuber unless you have the resources/connections, which you can’t deny that company had brought, whether directly or indirectly.

Fwiw i'd personally say he's not exactly as neutral as he says he is, while he hasn't been as vocal as some of the others he has been voicing quite a few things about them either before or after leaving, for instance before leaving he was the one who confirmed the 2% thing, and after leaving he had that chat with mata which michi then reacted to. I also personally think his views about the "anti rainbow company" fans are a bit negatively skewed, most anti company fans are not anti workers in the rainbow company and are also willing to acknowledge when the company does something well (e.g. being glad that the guy sending death threats to livers got arrested). That said it's interesting that he pointed out that things are getting better after "the big thing", afaik he's the first and only one to say it.

I don't want to hear Kuro say things are improving within the 'Rainbow company', I want to hear the current livers say that. I would have preferred hearing this from one of the smaller talents still within the branch then from one of the biggest former talents.
And although he qualified it by saying it's improving, I will say the management "giving a BIG fuck" about the talents is wildly subjective. It could mean anything between supporting talents more to keeping a tighter leash on talents. And the leaks support the former over the latter.

He can say whatever but Selen incident happened. If the company did not force them to do the black screen stream it means Ike Elira and Vox are one of the most terrible people existing on Earth, that level of betrayal, knowing how many hours they spent together (specially Ike and Vox) and that she recently had tried ending her life is too much. There is no way to forget and forgive that. If the company forced them to do it holding them at gunpoint then the company is extremely terrible. Normally things are grey but in this case it is either 3 people are terrrible or the whole structure is extremely fucked. Anyone defending livers that supported that stream is in the wrong, there are not more valid point of views on that if you have decent moral values.
Apart from that it seems that not only the structure is the one fked so to be honest except Rosemi, who actually did not tweet to support the black screen stream, they all can sink and won't be unfair. I was an Aloupeep until it happened, It took me a lot to believe Enna did say what she said, I though she was a precious person and Millie too. I barely watch Doki, I have no insane conection with her, it is just a matter of moral values, few things can't and shouldn't be forgiven but what happened is one of the few.
There was only one correct path as a liver after tweeting supporting that, forced or not, to graduate and ask for forgiveness to Doki. The ones that did not can sink (most of them), it is not a matter of the company getting better management and the situation improving , which is far different than what all the leaks we have say anyways, but of that there are responsabilities for indirectly almost killing someone that need to be addressed and the company and its livers sharing some blame. We do not know how much blame is from livers, how much is from the company but the total blame of the crime is there and it is an attemped murder.
Anyone willing to do something that terrible for their company is a bad person period.

@@cheesejam363 it was not on her to just suck it up if the company was being shitty. it's on the company to improve their internal structure before they debut dozens of talents like they can afford it. it also kinda saddens me that you think the livers should just shut it if they got treated badly by the company, just so to not rock the boat...
you might be content with the stagnation but some people genuinely want the talent to be treated better by the company, and in extension, for the company to get better. that's why we criticize them and ask them to solve the problems. problems are like trash, if you bury them instead of properly dealing with them, they will contaminate the ground around them, attract pest, and they will also stink.
it is stinking like hell right now exactly because they've been doing that instead of dealing with the problems.
