I was surprised the green player didn't go for the kill, but he might have wanted to show some sort of a "message"

Since pink had 2 troops, and purple had 24, does that mean purple gets second? Or does pink get second being as they had 2 territories and purple had 1? Fun blizzards this game! GG! Thanks and God Bless!!

During a caps game, troops > territories. Therefore purple got second place and pink got third. If you are ever fighting for second place and first place is off the table. Hiding a massive number of troops in some corner will give you a better shot at a higher ranking. Especially if third place defends their cap with every troops they have. Zeroing out your cards and stacking a large number of troops in a corner will increase your chance of getting second.
If players weren't emotion / slow, it would almost always get you second place, but many players are willing lose 100 troops to kill you for zero cards. It tends to only work vs masters and grand masters. Noobs just kill you and risk losing.
Edit: if two players have the same amount of troops, the tie goes to whoever has the most territories. If that is tied as well, I have no idea who gets second place.

I have no idea honestly. There's no official info on that, and I have never tested it myself. But there should definitely be experienced players who know that for sure, so the comment above might be correct

@@jfast8256 Good to know! I believe in 5rr/speed blitz, territories get the priority, right?
