23:48 secondary dominant in first inversion, the major third in the bass to me, but andre is doing a really blusy solo, is not like Yngwie chord progrerssion, its like those Megadeth cromatics chord. Blind Guardian have a more "Modal" way to see the music and not "Tonal" or "functional" to me, BG is my fav band ever and ANATO my fav one!

Hi Alexandra I hope you are doing well :) I enjoyed your video. I don't know the singer's name but he is freaking phenomenal, now I need to listen to Blind Guardian some more

I am glad that you liked the video so much! The singer (and one of the two masterminds in the band) is Hansi Kürsch - he used to play bass in the past along with singing but then he wanted to focus just on singing so they got a separate bass player.

Great song. Never heard them before but will definitely be checking them out. Always blows me away how you just instantly work stuff out..🎖

They definitely have a huge and nice catalogue. Working as a teacher and session musician has taught me to learn songs very quickly so this is the result. It requires many years to reach that though...

That rabbit hole goes deep, but if you like what you find there, might want to look into Angra and Rhpsody of Fire next... 🤘🤘

Maybe you have analysed the lyrics some more after you uploaded the video, but otherwise this song is about The Witcher. The other two singles are about Arthur Miller's The Crucible (a play about the witch trials in Salem) in Deliver us From Evil, while Secrets of the American Gods is about Neil Gaiman's American Gods novel.

Thank you very much for the hints! I read the lyrics but didn't realise it's about The Witcher... I generally don't pay much attention to lyrics because the instrumental parts are priority to me and I normally hear the vocals as yeat another instrument. I get to the lyrics after everything else is analysed and clear :D

wow, the reaction is amazing, I really like it, thank you. I will subscribe and like your channel so I can continue to follow you. and you are very good at analyzing. remarkable. sorry I also really want you to react to one of the world's best guitarists. His channel is alip ba ta. he's one of the best guitarists to date. with his fingerstyle style that is different from other guitarists, so he also received appreciation from brian may giyaris queen after he successfully covered a bohemian rhapsody song with a fingerstyle style. rhapsody. I am sure you will be very impressed with him. please check the channel...thank you...

This was really cool! I’ve always wanted to hearing some of their guitar layering broken into the individual parts.

Thanks for this video. There's so little on André and Marcus' technique and habits, it's great to have someone do a deep dive, even in reaction format. 👌👌😁
P.s. I have a big soft spot for Beyond the Red Mirror, but I'm a contrarian. 😉

    Great review!
They're my favorite band and I wish there will be more reviews of this sort for their songs!
I especially love when they surprised you (and when they surprise me in general).
(I like it less, when you say they are doing lots of typical things, even though I understand you like those as well)

Thank you very much! Doing their typical BG things is what's part of their unique identity so I don't think it's a bad thing - I enjoy all these moments :)

I've never seen you smile so much as when you mention you're a Tolkien fan. That's so awesome. When I was 12 (many decades ago, lols) my mom gave me The Hobbit, and ever since then Tolkien has been my favorite author. ^-^

I heard this song for the first time here and it's funny how the moment you played the video, those very first few bars tricked my brain that I'm listening to Banished from sanctuary.

Yes, it sounds quite similar - it's in the same key, they use similar notes, and the tempo is kind of matching.
