England's Ex Largest Lake

One of my favourite walks close to where I live in the winter. Martin Mere was, up until the late 1700s, the largest lake in England.

The soil must be good there where the lake was, is it ? Very nice countryside walk

@sianwarwick633 It is really good soil as far as I know. Pretty much the whole lake bed is used for agriculture. I'm pretty sure it only started to be farmed so heavily after WW2, so as farmland goes, it's quite new.
