This is the second video of yours I have watched and it’s another high quality production. I love the honest, unbiased review. You have earned yourself another subscriber, Sir.
Had this bag for 6 months and it’s awesome! It’s been my everyday carry for work and for daytrips. I also took it with me to Tokyo and it held up in the rainy weather. Great review, man!
Hi George thank you for this (and all the others) review. Finally I have decided to buy the nebula. I guess once should have many bags anyway and the nebula (new 2019) should be one of these. It'll be on my back ASAP and will be wandering in PARIS and where ever I go. My wife thought I was crazy to watch so much video but you are so enthusiastic that It would have been a shame not to learn deeper the universe of the EDC bags. Anyway thank you a lot. YOU are the core of internet !
Your reviews are great man. Still trying to decide between a north face and osprey and it really just seems to come between several small things that are just personable preferences. Your reviews have helped Significantly and I appreciate the time you’ve put into your videos that is apparent. Keep it up!
I appreciate how you make very informative reviews, including examples of what you carry so I have an idea on actual size, and thank you for comparing the new model to the previous version so we know what changed. Great work George thank you!
I've had this backpack for 4 years now - Its perfect for quite literally anything. Going to work, travelling internationally, and even hiking. All those extra pockets and slots can hold everything I ever need to take, and keeps it all so organized. It's a 5/5 backpack and if it ever breaks, (currently not even close to!), I will simply be buying another one. If anyone is thinking of buying it, I couldn't recommend more
Sold! I was between this, the axis, and the quasar. Your videos were super helpful. This one is definitely the winner. Side note: I liked the quasar, but as a grad school student, it’s where the laptop sleeve is located on this one that sold me, as well as the TSA compliance feature. In the quasar, the laptop would have shared the same column with the bulk of my textbooks, which seemed like a little less protection with how I carry the items. Thanks for these!
Hi George, Thank you for your great review. I also checked out your review for the North Face Recon and many others. I decided to buy the Osprey Nebula. I am very happy with my new EDC. Your review helped a lot by the decision. I agree that unbuckling the compression straps to get to the admin section is a little bit annoying but not a deal breaker. I also wish Osprey had put a double zipper on the admin section and not just a single one. At the end, the overall functionality convinced me and the bag fulfills my requirements for an office EDC. Keep up the great work and you just won another subscriber.
@@GeorgeDEFINED Hi George, After a few weeks of using this bag, I have the following verdict: This is the best EDC backpack I have ever owned. Lightweight, compact and super comfortable to wear, also for a longer time / distance. I have retired my SwissGear Bag as EDC bag and use it as gym bag now. There is nothing more to say about the Osprey Nebula because your review sums it up perfectly.
lmaooo man your humor is top notch as well as the superb detail you go into on every freaking review you do. your definitely up there with the best to do reviews on anything in any category of stuff ever made
My man, that was an AWESOME review, better than Osprey's, REI, everybody else. I was waivering to pull the trigger on the green but you were the only one to show the true color and now I'm gonna get me one. Thanks, brother!
Man, I am so glad I subscribed to your channel. This is exactly what I was looking for. I love the functionality of my current Nebula, but don't like the back panel which causes me to sweat the whole time I am wearing it. This new back panel looks like it will be a huge improvement.
Have used a few times already with my now 2 month old and I haven't noticed any rubbing or rashes from the fabric on his skin and he tokerates it pretty well. Have only had him in it facing me since he isn't big enough to face out just yet. Baby seems to like it well enough and it helps so much around the house or to lull him to sleep if he is being fussy.
Your reviews convinced me that Osprey bags are better in both quality and functionality. But The North Face is just better in terms of outwards appearance. This may be a subjective matter, but it the reason why I got the Recon instead of the Nebula. Although this version of the Nebula is a big step from its prior version. Again, in terms of appearance. Thanks for the review.
Hey George and great review. However, regarding your criticism about the upper compression straps being in the way, looks like you missed the actual improvement that Ospray made specifically for that matter: they have now included small pockets (one for each strap) right there where the upper compression straps are located (in the front of the bag), so now if you don't want to use the upper compression straps you can just unbuckle them and slide the strap into its pocket (in the upper section in the front of the bag) and voila! you might enjoy your new bag now even more and might want to update your review accordingly! cheers!
Great point. Other cool thing I think is that the straps can actually protect the zips to be opened easily. This can help with safety while travelling or being in crowded environments.
I love your videos and how detailed you are and in depth and the force is strong with you and you have the power of Master Windu and wisdom that of Grand Master Yoda 😎👍🏻
Great videos George. Watched several of your reviews and really enjoyed them. You know your stuff and your insights are very helpful. I like North Face and Osprey as brands. I own products from both companies. I like the 2019 Nebula but having to unclip the strap to get to the admin section might be a deal-breaker for me. I am in the admin section every day often. On the other hand, I saw a video that mentions that you can tug away the strap and not use it. I do like the light weight focus that Osprey offers. I'm also looking at TNF Recon and Router Transit models foruse as my EDC for commuting from NJ to NYC. Thanks!
Osprey is the best backpack company hands down! warrantied for life! I use a manta 36 for the car get home bag, and in a few seconds convert it to a full hiking bag ounces equal pounds when having a bag on for more than 4 hours, add some hook and loop velcro for CCW, I would consider this bag if I was an urban commuter that had to travel bus, rail, foot.
Very informative and very helpful review. Just bought it and I was struggling to find the hole to put the water bladder tube through. Thank you so much.
Very good review, thanks a lot! Looking at the newer version of Nebula and trying to determine would this one costs it's money compare to much cheaper chinese bags. Definitely after watching your video I want this one much more than before.
Great review! Thank you. I think you would love the Northface Router Transit bag. Check that one out and let me know what you think. I have it and have yet to find a better bag. It even has a slot on one of the water bottle side pockets that is angled towards your back so you can put a bottle in and out of the pocket while still wearing the bag. It has tons of organization pockets and lots of room too.
i had two of the older nebula's but one of those had to be sent back to osprey to be repaired. they couldn't repair one of them and i got the updated version. a couple things i like and don't like about the updated version. i actually liked having the buckle (old version) on the big mesh pocket. it gave me a place to attach my hat, loop my jacket thru and help keep the pocket somewhat closed. now i feel like it's easier for stuff to maybe fall out?? they also removed the two outer attachment loops (left and right side of the logo) above the mesh pocket. i personally liked those attachment points. the one change on the updated version i don't understand is they originally had two zippers to open the admin pocket, now they have one. if you have items on the opposite side of the zipper you have to completely open the bag to get to it (no big deal but wanted to point that out). i do like how they added the extra pocket within the main compartment (behind the sunglass pouch). i think the one thing i would like to see added would be to add a small mesh zipper pocket in the admin area (at the 9:15, the blue area that's folded down towards the counter top). i feel like it's extra space that could be used. anyways, i think osprey has the best packs in the industry and there "almighty guarantee" along with there customer service is paramount. great review boss!
There were a couple things from the older version I would have brought forward. BUT I like the newer version a little more as it is.. I appreciate your experience with this pack.. See ya ✌🏾
IMO, when I comes to the admin, if you keep the zippers at the top centered, a brief entry to access the top three pockets would not be inhibited by the compression straps. Great video
Thanks for the laugh on your intro lions roar ... took me back to my childhood and I literally lol'd about it. I wasn't really looking for a new pack, holy crap I have over 40 now ... but , i like osprey and have numerous of their bags for hiking and 1 for edc and hadn't seen this one. It looked like a good choice for a "grey man bag" so I was intrigued. I really prefer a smaller edc bag and since I seldom carry a laptop, I use a osprey raptor 14L
as an owner of the old Nebula 34 i dont know if the revamp would be an improvement or no difference. it would be nice to see a real world comparo of the two. as usual, an informative and in depth video, G-Man. One.
George DEFINED I give the slight edge to the old version, mainly because it has many more organizational pockets in the admin section, and I can get it to stand up, whereas the new pack tips over which is something that bugs me. Lastly, I actually prefer the clip on the outer mesh vs. the open mesh pocket of the new one; just feels like it’s a little more secure. The zippers on the new Nebula are much smoother, and I dig it’s more subdued / stealth look, but overall, I think the old version wins out, at least for me.
Love Osprey bags. Nebula is my edc and school bag. I prefer the old mesh front but loving the new water sleeves. Most my osprey mesh have ripped there.
Great review George!! Does this pack stand up on its own when you set it down? Also, it looks like you can tuck the upper compression straps away in those two “tab” areas on the front of the pack.
Hey Damion, I was able to stand it up on its own but I don't think it was designed to. You are right about tucking the straps away didn't notice it when I got the bag. See ya
Good video and review, just remember to include MSRP, and maybe some hyperlinks to help support your channel. Also some insight into if you think the bag is worth the price to what is comparable in the market.

Love your videos, they are great.. But im still torn between deuter and osprey, cant decide between deuter Gigant and osprey nebula and quasar.. what do you think is better?
Decent EDC or get home bag for that non-tactical choice. I prefer something with molle, even if it might attract attention, but I can see this being the right fit for a lot of people. New sub btw. Keep up the bad reviews my friend, and I will keep coming back
Hey George, purchased a nebula off the back of your review! Love it so thanks very much for such a a detailed review! Really liked the look of your CLC bag for small gear, any chance you could send over a link to it or the manufacturer? Thanks, keep it going!
So, what would you say is the real height of this backpack? Because, many of Ospreys backpacks are too long to count as an personal item. (Not carry-on, the personal item in front of your feet on the plane) Whats with this one? Does it fit? Any complaints? And are you sure a 17" fit in there? Your 15" looked like it took almost all space
Hi George, thanks for the deatailed review of Nebula. Now I can't decide btw Nebula 2019 nad Tropos 2019 which have also second generation released this year. Would you recommend Tropos over Nebula? Do you plan to review Tropos as well?.....all the best from Czech republic
Great review as always. Question, at 9.10, why is there blue material on the opposite side of the organization pouches? Is it decorative or another pocket?
George - What are your thoughts on this vs. the Osprey Troops? You mention the Nebula in your 2019 Tropos review, but that was before this new Nebula came out. Trying to decide between the two. Carrying a 15" MacBook Pro and 12" iPad Pro (2018) and it looks like both bags have space for them.
Hey Steven, It comes down to if you really need that standing feature in the Tropos and the advanced back panel. For most I think the Nebula is the better buy. See ya
@@GeorgeDEFINED Thanks, love the videos. Found a killer deal on the new tropos (for less than a nebula) so I went with it. Seems like either would work.
Hey George! I purchased the 2018 Recon in Weinmaraner brown/dove Grey. Not realizing how dirty this may get and show over time. Do you happen to know if there is any kind of protectant on these materials to prevent staining or anything like that? Last thing I wanna have to do is constantly clean this thing. If not I will switch out to the black, thanks!
Awesome video! I am stuck between this bag and the Tropos. I just need a bag that can hold a 15.6in laptop, a jacket, accessories and some documents. I also need it to be able to fit underneath the seat when I fly. Which of the 2 would you recommend? Thanks in advance for the advice!
I was having trouble finding a bag with robust water bottle side pockets. I picked up the Maxpediton Tiburon and love it. Check it out if you haven’t already. Great review the Osprey looks like a nice bag
The intro is soo funny

i had two of the older nebula's but one of those had to be sent back to osprey to be repaired. they couldn't repair one of them and i got the updated version. a couple things i like and don't like about the updated version. i actually liked having the buckle (old version) on the big mesh pocket. it gave me a place to attach my hat, loop my jacket thru and help keep the pocket somewhat closed. now i feel like it's easier for stuff to maybe fall out?? they also removed the two outer attachment loops (left and right side of the logo) above the mesh pocket. i personally liked those attachment points. the one change on the updated version i don't understand is they originally had two zippers to open the admin pocket, now they have one. if you have items on the opposite side of the zipper you have to completely open the bag to get to it (no big deal but wanted to point that out). i do like how they added the extra pocket within the main compartment (behind the sunglass pouch). i think the one thing i would like to see added would be to add a small mesh zipper pocket in the admin area (at the 9:15, the blue area that's folded down towards the counter top). i feel like it's extra space that could be used.

George DEFINED you’re the best, thank you! Gonna get me one of these now!

Bump
Love the content!
Would you recommend this as a good day pack because I'll also be travelling with the 80L farpoint osprey
Old school scotchgard by 3M... I hope it helps See Ya
If you don't need the bag to stand? I would recommend the Nebula! See ya
George DEFINED awesome! Thanks for the tip.
What would you recommend is the better backpack for traveling the tropos or the nebula
I love osrey's laptop compartment.
Hey Mariel, Al ot of people have said the same. Thanks for watching and your comments. See ya
I was having trouble finding a bag with robust water bottle side pockets. I picked up the Maxpediton Tiburon and love it. Check it out if you haven’t already. Great review the Osprey looks like a nice bag
The Maxpedition Tiburon is a great pack! They always make good gear.
