For the first of nine short films for the “Bad” album, Michael Jackson enlists acclaimed filmmaker and director Martin Scorsese and together they create an epic 18-minute tale of urban and racial challenges in the 1980s inspired by the real life story of Edmund Perry. The "Bad" recording is the second of five consecutive No.1 singles from the album making Michael the first artist to achieve this milestone and in 2014 Rolling Stone ranked this short film second on a list of Michael's 20 greatest short films.

I'm 57 years old, and I have to say that Michael Jackson was the greatest entertainer in my lifetime. He was much more than a great singer, he used the video platform flawlessly to entertain fans, and is the biggest reason that MTV was successful in the 80s. I grew up listening to the Jackson 5 in the early 70s, but I did not fully appreciate Michael Jackson's talent until the 80s where his singing, dancing and acting talents were put on full display in his videos. What a great talent, he influenced an entire generation all over the world.
