As far as Jalen is concerned I believe he got way too full of himself. All of the interviews, the NIL money, Mel Kiper's Draft projection . . You name it. He is not all that, but he believes he is. The last three games he has played awful, and he has been getting worse. The defense gave the offense plenty of opportunities to build a 2-3 score lead over Tennessee, but they were unable to do anything. Sad, very sad.

Qb play is getting worse every year in football. Tennessee is winning in spite of theirs. It's like a competition for which team can overcome terrible qb play
With this win for Tennessee: they've know won two of the last three meetings against Alabama after losing 15 consecutive. This is also the first time since 2004 and 2006 Tennessee beat Alabama consecutively in Knoxville. However, this is now the 4th time out of the last 12 conference games in which Tennessee did not score more than 25 points. Again, it's great for Tennessee that they defeated a team they usually don't beat, but they still need to improve on offense because for the first time since 1963, Tennessee went three consecutive games without scoring any points in the first half. As for Alabama, this is the first time since 1929 Alabama lost twice in the State of Tennessee in the same season. This is now the 4th time Alabama had two or more losses in the regular season within the last 16 years (2022, 2019, and 2010 were the others). This is also the first time since Nick Saban's first season at Alabama, 2007, in which the Crimson Tide lost two games in the regular season before November. And the problem with Alabama is that they lack discipline and what happened that night was weeks in the making now that Saban is gone. From the Alabama player punting the football in celebration after defeating Georgia to the Alabama player vs Tennessee flopping on purpose (after being told to do so by one of the members of the coaching staff), if Nick Saban was still coaching, he'd a ripped the players a new one. But at least this is a rivalry once again. I really hope the league expands to 9 games so Alabama and Tennessee can continue to play because even though I am an Alabama fan, I was born and raised in Knoxville, TN and this is a rivalry I hold very near and dear to my heart. Even Nick Saban on College GameDay said that the Tennessee game was a bigger rivalry to his players than the Auburn game because they wanted to wake up for the Tennessee game while having a harder time getting up for the Auburn game. Another classic game in this long played rivalry, although the previous one in Knoxville was way better and one of the greatest in CFB history.
What's happening at Bama is due to coaching. Fact: When Saban came to bama. He inherited a train wreck of a team. To fix it he had to hire the best staff and coaches. He also had to go out and recruit the best players. His second season record was his stepping stone to his success. Fact: DeBoer inherited the best program in college football. With the best facilities, staff, coaches, and the most talented players capable of winning another national championship. DeBoer does not understand that SEC teams, coaches and players are held to a higher standard than any other conference in college football. There is no discipline on the team. You can see that during the games. Not to mention the bad coaching. They are not doing even the simple things like making adjustments during the game. Especially at half time. DeBoer's awe shucks, golly gee, treat the players with kid gloves style is not working. It has turned Bama football into a train wreck. DeBoer is not cut out to be a head coach in the SEC. Maybe as a assistant coach. Either DeBoer needs to change, or he needs to go. At this point I see Bama maybe winning against Mercer and Auburn. The rest of the season are all going to be losses. By the end of the season Bama will not even be ranked.
Penalties reflect a lack of focus and self-discipline. Part of that is coaching. Every lineman on the team is 15 lbs overweight and thus too slow to win that 1 vs 1. Zone defenses will not consistently work, because the films reveal their gaps and points of weakness. If your offense attacks successfully with the running game and you have a quarterback that can run well, you will get first downs consistently. This then opens up your passing lanes just enough.
If Deboer doesn't put more discipline on this team, he will not have the season Bama is expected to have. I don't think they will make the playoffs unless the other teams in the SEC loses 2 games and their losses are worse than theirs. So Sad! Bama fan for 50 ÷ years!
people need to understand that the dynasty teams aren't going to be a thing anymore in the new landscape of college football. you're not going to have the same team winning it all or even making the championship game year after year. there's no coach out there who's going to bring Saban-type results to Alabama....not even Saban himself, which is why he retired.
@@1100L-u6s I'm not saying that there won't be dominant programs. but guess what....Georgia didn't even make the playoff last year. what I'm saying is, if Alabama fans are hoping for a coach who is going to have Saban type results where the team is in the national title game almost every year, that simply ain't gonna happen. expectations need to be adjusted going forward.
Gen Z doesn't realize that before Saban got there (after proving that he couldn't hack it in the NFL), Alabama hadn't won anything significant in several years. Under Dubose, Franchione, and Shula, Alabama was basically what Auburn is right now. You hired a coach with no ties to the South who had an inflated record because he was coaching teams loaded with talent in weak conferences. What did you think would happen? If you actually watched Washington last year, you would have seen that DeBoer got outcoached in at least half of the team's games and only won because of the talent gap between his team and the other one. DeBoer was a desperation hire, plain and simple.
Washington won as an underdog 5 times last year. They had an experienced roster because of the covid rules but they beat Oregon twice who had way more talent than them and Texas. Bama has a bunch of millionaires that don't care if they win or lose. College football will be like this going forward.
Saban wasn’t that bad in the NFL. I don’t know why people keep saying that. He wasn’t great, but also wasn’t there very long. His Dolphins team was just average. Coaches who perform worse than that stay in the NFL for decades. He is a college coach, and he left the NFL for a high-profile college job. It’s not like he was run out of the NFL. It’s so lame that people keep acting like he was.
Dude i remember the Shula days. Bama fans were actually tolerable and then ole Saban came around. It was actually rich rod that was gonna be the coach till word got out and he went to Michigan.
Either Milroe is hurt or he’s playing not to get hurt. He hasn’t been the same since the Georgia game. I believe his agent has filled his head up and he looks as if he doesn’t want to be there at times. When he’s on the bench, it looks like he’s pouting….
Alabama was EXTREMELY LUCKY not to have lost 6 games last year but somehow won. Can you say that staff is bad by leading an average football team to the playoffs
How about Tennessee has an elite defense??? How does a team that hangs 40 on GA a train wreck? It really shows how these talking heads just regurgitate the same old talking points. I heard one “analyst” say Tennessee secondary is their weak spot after this game!! That’s old news from 2 years ago, this secondary has been ELITE
The SEC is a relentlessly competitive and difficult conference. Alabama has enjoyed a long, anomalous dynasty, but NIL has leveleld the playing field. Saban saw that, recognized it for what it is, and got out....just in time. If any team thinks that consistent championships are going to be a birthright...or a walk in the park, ...from here on out, ....they probably need to re-think.
Kalen Deboer is like a Qb that gets sacked 5-6 times and gets panicked the rest of the game.He looks clueless and scared on the sidelines when adversity hits and it permeates throughout the team. Some coaches are great at rallying the troops in a tough game and he just doesn't have tenacity during the game coaching ability.I watch him closely and he just looks confused and uncertain. Even his interviews are uncomfortable and his team sees and hears the same as I do.He will not make it and I see Alabama trying to get Kiffen before Florida gets him.😭
I don’t recognize this type of Alabama football. I haven’t seen an Alabama team coached this poorly since the Dubose and Shula era. I think the program needs a complete reset. We’ve got to figure this out or we will be at the level of Auburn in a few years.
You're talking the "Mike Years", Mike Dubose, Mike Shula and Mike Price. Bama bandwagon fans don't remember those years....guess what, looks like they're back.
When the players give up over a 100 yard in penalties and diving around faking injuries like Lionel Messi then it’s pretty clear that Kalen has lost control of the situation.
The 2024 college football season is a demonstration of why unrestricted free agency doesn't work. The inmates are running the asylum and that's why Saban bailed from coaching. If the players were as well prepared to play as they are to do foolish celebratory dances...
Alabama is not immune to the dropoff that often happens at the end of a dynasty or a great run of success. It's happened to the Lakers, Yankees, The U, Duke, UNC, Florida, Patriots, Bulls, and a few more that I'm sure I'm forgetting. I know patience is too much to ask for many Bama fans, but you gotta give Coach DeBoer time to recruit, make corrections, and steady the ship. Plus, Jalen Milroe is great athlete and a good qb, but he's no Michael Penix from the pocket. Kinda feel bad for Coach DeBoer (and his family in Tuscaloosa), bcuz I'm not sure he REALLY understood the pressure cooker he was stepping into. The Vandy loss might be too much to overcome, so making the playoffs seems outta reach for this year. I think he'll have success, but fans gotta let go of the Coach Saban era... I don't think anyone will ever do that again in this new landscape.
Yeah… Bama still had a top 2 roster in the country when Deboer showed up. The fall off was because Saban left, it’s a coaching issue. We will see how he develops bama in the coming few years but I honestly never had faith in him. He was an unproven coach who made Washington decent after 2 years. Cool, he did well in the pac 12. Big whoop.
Blame the coach all you want the players need to be criticized just as much their arrogance and ignorance was just at a tipping point to where they needed to be humbled and they sure have been and I'm glad
This Alabama team in its current form has more than one more loss coming. We need some really quick accountability and self reflection from every player and coach. Most importantly they need to humble themselves. They act like they think they are automatically supposed to win. They aren't respecting their opponents and its showing. Worse is they keep playing down to the competition. They are playing scared which tells me they're listening to all this BS from this so called "fanbase" and "media" They're allowing that to effect them in game. Until we figure who we are on BOTH sides of the ball we will continue to produce these results. This not a team.....its just a bunch of talent with little to no discipline or direction and absolutely no identity!
What's delusional about thinking we should've beat Vanderbilt? Especially after winning against Georgia. Or Tennessee with their loss to Arkansas and our record against them. Maybe if more teams had "delusional" fans they wouldn't be so accepting of losses and would have records they could be proud of.
Finebaum claiming you’re getting tossed out after a loss is a rite of passage in the SEC. Welcome DeBoer. Ignored baldy, he doesn’t mean anything he says. He is WWE for college football.
Alabama then had a great run for several years, its over with there’s plenty of talented teams so Finebaum and the rest of the 🤡s at ESCNN got to get use to it.
It’s a good time to be a Bama hater, especially those who are obsessed with Alabama (you know who you are) Imagine having to live through nearly 20 years of dominance including 6 national championships. A true dynasty. Well that’s finally over so go ahead and celebrate! It’s been a long time coming and you’ve earned it !!
Alabama had a chance? Bollocks. If Nico, the TN QB, had been just slightly more accurate in the first half, the game wouldn't have even been close, the Vols would have demolished them.
With all due respect to Matt and Paul, all we're hearing is how bad Bama is, what's wrong with Bama ?...They ALL just totally disrespected 102,000 raucous Vol fans having any affect at all on Milroe and their many penalties, or the Vols Big D that put more pressure on Milroe than he's seen all season, or the punishing running of Dylan Sampson, (144 car, 838 yds, 17 tds in 7 games so far), who should be gettin some Heisman love by now...yep, by all means, don't give the Vols or the fans any credit for a well-earned victory imho...GBO !🍊🏈🇺🇸👍🍊!!!!!!
He should've known what he signed up for before taking the job This is not the West Coast this is SEC man he's gotta win and people want him to win now or else ur outta here This is the toughest conference in the nation
Bama will be fine once DeBoer get guys in the program that fit the schemes he runs. However, right now, the coaching staff is not doing a good job at adjusting to the fact that the players don’t fit the scheme.
Same thing I been saying we need a qb that fits the scheme coaches trying to force milroe to be something that he's not instead of working with his strengths
I have been telling my friends and brothers that Milroe is not a good quarterback for three years. The discipline is gone. We it has been that way for 3 seasons. I hope we as Alabama fans get back to there foundation.
Paul thinks Missouri is a win for this Alabama team😂😂😂Alabama will be shredded by Missouri’s aggressive defense. This Alabama team will lose AT LEAST 3 more losses, maybe 4.
I never thought in one season a coach could absolutely undo what Coach Saban put in place. The idea that you can come in and change 17 years of success because you want to do it your way is absolutely ludicrous.
It's always this type of coverage for "Marcia Brady" teams or athletes. It's not that the other team won, but (insert various names here, Kansas City, Alabama, etc) lost the game. Now that kids are making the money they deserve, these dynasties are not going to last like they have in the past. I'm enjoying the tears.
With respect to USC, it appears that the football team is struggling to remain in the top fifty (50), after they slipped out of the top twenty- five (25) with the loss to Penn State. That said , it’s time to move on in my humble opinion. If we look how SC handled disappointing performances of coaches, eg., firing Lane Kiffin on a tarmac when SC wasn’t anywhere in contention and it became painfully evident that SC would not be a playoff contender, it might be something to be reflected upon. As an alumni of SC, I would hope to see the program get back to the days when the Trojans were a force to contend with. That decision will rest with the people in charge of making major decisions for the university athletic programs. DRJDC
The play calling has been off. Milrow usually has some deep play-action throws that heighten his confidence. He didn't have a single one against Tennessee. He wasn't able to run how he usually does too.
There are four coaches that can coach "NIL" Players. On WUZ at Auburn and nobody wants him because he is said to be a no frills/mean coach...said to be! Another is across the state line and having fun with it but gets the respect of the team. His problem is the entire student body and "The Grove" party system before games. The other one just retired from the elephant crew calling NIL a joke for football. The last one went 15-0, got a Heisman QB (not even a good second-stringer), a tight-end that could not run and could barely catch, a running backfield built on name alone but had no real ball skill except for one with kind of a Three pronged French sounding name (he was like the qb and the wr's...damn good and all-around skilled). You all know that little cannonball (and he worked at it with that head coach). You know him. The one everyone made fun of in the way he talked. You know, don't you? The one that actually told players "if you think that you have guaranteed rights to first-string starting positions because you are a 4-5 star out of heaven to this team, go sit on the bench or get ready to get your knuckles and earn your position." We know the one. The one with no organizational skills for the alum's. You know him. The one that has just one heart beat for a team that plays with just one heart beat not 22 separate 5 stars that don't have the skill set to tote water jugs and gatorade. Come oonnnn, you know the name... Would that not be ironic?
The results you are seeing in college football, is because of NIL money, those 4 or 5 teams that used to stockpile all the 4 and 5 star players can no longer do that, they could plug in another 4 or 5 star and never miss a beat, that's the reason Saban didn't like it and quit, if you don't understand, your blind, been watching football for over 70 years, it's changed folks.
Bama would be great if Saban was still the Coach, however, he would have definitely won less National Championships if he had to play under the new rules for his career. NIL and the Portal has changed everything.
DeBoer hasn't figured out how to control college kids who make more playing football than tenured professors. It's a new age...the football we grew up with IS DEAD.

@@1100L-u6s not even remotely the same scenario, but ok
@@MisterHoodrich89
It is EXACTLY the same thing, e.g., Smart is building a dynasty at Georgia right now
@@1100L-u6s I'm not saying that there won't be dominant programs. but guess what....Georgia didn't even make the playoff last year.
what I'm saying is, if Alabama fans are hoping for a coach who is going to have Saban type results where the team is in the national title game almost every year, that simply ain't gonna happen. expectations need to be adjusted going forward.
If I was a Tennessee alumni Paul could and would NOT be accepted in the state for kneeling and slobbing Alabama!!
When you have a RB playing QB. Bill O’Brien was right
Was he RB when he beat Auburn and Georgia last year and took Bama to the playoffs??
Yes
@@xdude2x BS!! From what I saw was a lot of celebration from arrogant fans afterwards
I have no idea what you’re saying, seriously
@@Iceman24424 Non sequitur? Was your reply cut off?
Boo hoo! they’ve lost multiple games before November.. like 80% of FBS. Give us a break!
Pray for this man if Colorado wins out 😂😂😂
that won't happen
Gotta hire Cignetti
@@wubuck79 cause most people just repeat everything they hear and don't have opinions of their own.
It's coaches in over their heads..
Debeor cant get away with STUPID decisions in the SEC
@kennethpreston9813 Brace yourself for the elephant downfall. It's happening right before your eyes and is not going to stop.
My buddy from Alabama sent a text, he is ready for Bama Basketball......
They'll soon be calling Kalen Deboer, Kalen Dubose.
The 2024 college football season is a demonstration of why unrestricted free agency doesn't work. The inmates are running the asylum and that's why Saban bailed from coaching. If the players were as well prepared to play as they are to do foolish celebratory dances...
7-5 season like I predicted in August
me too , just like the last washington coach we hired bye bye
You've got a west coast HC coaching in the SEC
Coach DeBoer was handed a lambo as far as the situation he arrived into. That soft west coast attitude just aint gonna cut it down south.
Big whoop.
Why not give Tennessee a little credit?
because they are trash like their fanbase. I mean rushing the field after barely escaping a game against the worst Bama team in decades was hilarious
Because they don’t deserve any? Tennessee didn’t win, Bama lost plain and simple.
because Bama sucks big time! Bama will finish 7-5 this year
@ethanpsmith8553 tennessees defense had the bama offense on thier throat the whole game
@@rsvvideos2864 Bama's offensive line SUCKS. Let's see them do the same against Georgia
They’re losing with Saban recruits so that makes coaching the problem
Nick saban said it...this program is heading in the wronf direction
Blame the coach all you want the players need to be criticized just as much their arrogance and ignorance was just at a tipping point to where they needed to be humbled and they sure have been and I'm glad
It's called discipline
Milroe needs to be benched!
Anyone why Finebaum seems to hate on Tennessee yet he went there? Did a professor give him a bad grade or something?
Both teams don’t seem to be very good
Yet Alabama demolished Georgia which demolished Texas…….just sayin
Maybe BAMA fans are as delusional as Michigan fans -- both seem to think they will win 10-11 games after their HC leaves.
What's delusional about thinking we should've beat Vanderbilt? Especially after winning against Georgia. Or Tennessee with their loss to Arkansas and our record against them. Maybe if more teams had "delusional" fans they wouldn't be so accepting of losses and would have records they could be proud of.
@@tonyrmathis Okie Dokie.
Finebaum claiming you’re getting tossed out after a loss is a rite of passage in the SEC. Welcome DeBoer. Ignored baldy, he doesn’t mean anything he says. He is WWE for college football.
This is not the end of the world. Relax.
Alabama then had a great run for several years, its over with there’s plenty of talented teams so Finebaum and the rest of the 🤡s at ESCNN got to get use to it.
It’s a good time to be a Bama hater, especially those who are obsessed with Alabama (you know who you are)
Imagine having to live through nearly 20 years of dominance including 6 national championships. A true dynasty.
Well that’s finally over so go ahead and celebrate!
It’s been a long time coming and you’ve earned it !!
Is there ever a bad time to hate Bama? Answer: nope
Alabama had a chance? Bollocks. If Nico, the TN QB, had been just slightly more accurate in the first half, the game wouldn't have even been close, the Vols would have demolished them.
The Tide has turned!
I seen this coming while I celebrated 🍾 Saban leaving (true story)
4 years from now they'll be Arkansas 😂
ALL dynasties eventually bottom out, Florida state, Oklahoma, Nebraska, ETC.ETC, and most times it starts when a change of command happens
DeBoer is way in over his head
He should've known what he signed up for before taking the job This is not the West Coast this is SEC man he's gotta win and people want him to win now or else ur outta here This is the toughest conference in the nation
Pretty sure the Vols defense had a lot to do with why Bama looked like garbage on offense
They were ranked #2 Total Defense in NCAA before the game...
Bama fans are such entitled snowflakes! Two loses and the world is coming to an end, total meltdown.
The bigger picture- if you truly love college football- is BAMA is just the start. Pay for play doesn’t belong in college.
Why does anyone care what Paul says?
Bama will be fine once DeBoer get guys in the program that fit the schemes he runs. However, right now, the coaching staff is not doing a good job at adjusting to the fact that the players don’t fit the scheme.
Same thing I been saying we need a qb that fits the scheme coaches trying to force milroe to be something that he's not instead of working with his strengths
Congrats to Tennessee great win
Bama is good but vols defense is #1 in the country our defense allows us a chances to beat any team in the country
Saban didn't have a great staff last year, but they made it to the NCAA championship game, gtfo. Smh.
I have been telling my friends and brothers that Milroe is not a good quarterback for three years. The discipline is gone. We it has been that way for 3 seasons. I hope we as Alabama fans get back to there foundation.
L.S.U. is likely licking their chops
Idiotic, ignorant and delusional
We will never sleep on Alabama. We know the talent is there. Y’all Coach is pretty bad though

DeBoer's motto, " Boys just wanna have fun."
ESPN absolutely hates us 😢😢
It's always this type of coverage for "Marcia Brady" teams or athletes. It's not that the other team won, but (insert various names here, Kansas City, Alabama, etc) lost the game. Now that kids are making the money they deserve, these dynasties are not going to last like they have in the past. I'm enjoying the tears.
Didn’t Paul say after Bama beat Georgia that Deboer’s Bama is better than Saban’s Bama? Not even close!!!
He’s a Tennessee grad and Alabama fan. Make it make sense.
True! Train Wreck!
Idiotic, ignorant and beyond foolish
Finebum is loving this since he’s a Tennessee alumni and 2 Tennessee schools beat Alabama within weeks of another 😂
With respect to USC, it appears that the football team is struggling to remain in the top fifty (50), after they slipped out of the top twenty- five (25) with the loss to Penn State. DRJDC
The last 4 games has not been up to Alabama standards wouldn’t happen under Saban
Yes it would
The play calling has been off. Milrow usually has some deep play-action throws that heighten his confidence. He didn't have a single one against Tennessee. He wasn't able to run how he usually does too.
Now their standard is a mist: just look at the georgia game going up 28-0 and still almost losing, so much inconsistency
The one that actually told players "if you think that you have guaranteed rights to first-string starting positions because you are a 4-5 star out of heaven to this team, go sit on the bench or get ready to get your knuckles and earn your position."
We know the one. The one with no organizational skills for the alum's. You know him. The one that has just one heart beat for a team that plays with just one heart beat not 22 separate 5 stars that don't have the skill set to tote water jugs and gatorade.
Come oonnnn, you know the name...
Would that not be ironic?
I wonder what college these two coached for?? Anyone kno?
Roll tide anyways. (We’ll probably pick up a few more losses too 🤦🏻♂️)
Bama has left over players from Saban (Milroe, etc) who for various reasons are not able or willing to change. Too slack too sudden. NIL sucks, too.
Thank you Bama for taking DeBoer from Washington
Williams will probably transfer to Texas. More NIL, a lambo, and Manning as QB.
Two losses is a train wreck? What do you call Miss st and Auburn? Saban called out PF on Gameday yesterday.
NIL and the transfer portal is what's causing this lack of discipline.
As a non bama fan ain’t no tears here. Welcome to middle of the pack.
He's right no disaplin
I’m gona give you a boxing analogy…. Has there ever been a head coach who was called back to coach!!! Boxers make comebacks all the time!!!
