My Grandmother had a 1958 Biscayne that she purchased new, it was an automatic, power steering, power brakes, A/C...it delivered a smooth, serene ride...man, as a kid, I loved that car so much. Those sensuous curves, the subdued, tasteful fins, the chrome spears down the sides. The 1958 Chevy's are my favorite models of the 1950's.
That's true. I was born in mid-'57 and those have gotten too much love. I love them of course, but love the '58, '59 & '60 a lot too. If you think about it, the '60 looks more like it should have followed the '58. If you extend the inner 'seagull wing' on the '60 Impala downward then curved inward, it definitely has a logical styling progression from the beautiful '58.
Love the reverse slant of the C pillar and wrap around rear window GM used back then. Tasteful updates without taking away from it's originality. ( Gauges )
Is this the same roof profile as a 58 Eldorado Coupe? I love this ride. It speaks to me. Surely it’s not running point ignition (but ok if it is-the Lady gets what the Lady wants)! Hope to see y’all at Woodward this year. Cheers.
