It looks gorgeous! Some tips I have found: 1. Keep items that add value to your home or life. If the Dollar Tree sail boat night light makes you overly happy, don't get rid of it. Use it until it breaks. 2. When in doubt, buy something you can wash. As much as I love a good woven cotton basket, most likely you cannot throw it into the washer. 3. Buy what you can afford. The other day I used cardboard boxes as drawer dividers and covered them in white paper. I had both, it took me less than a half hour and looks 90% better.

As a former Montessori preschool teacher and budding minimalist, I just have to say that it warms my heart to see how you are raising Moon and how calming his environment is. I actually started typing this before you mentioned Montessori in the video because I could see how very Montessori it all was!
How do you organize Montessori materials. I have so much since I'm a Montessorian and have no storage available at school and have to store everything at home.
I'm so glad that you guys made an effort to keep the environment in mind when doing this video. Single use plastic consumption is definitely a problem, but buying new things is also a problem too. Perhaps you can also eventually transition the coffee system to a more sustainable one with bulk products, to swap out the little single use plastic pods. But so impressed with all the reusing and really being mindful of reducing consumption and waste in your home and life! Keep it up! 🙏🏼😊✨
100%! It also is much more sustainable to use products you already have (even if they are in plastic bottles) than start fresh and purchase new sustainable or recyclable products. Then once you use up those purchase sustainable options.
@Willow S Yes, if they are buying things from a wholefoods store where they have everything in bulk and you fill your own containers with the things you want it's more environmentally friendly,... but, if they're buying foods packaged in plastic as well as a cardboard printed box around the plastic bag and they're just emptying it into the glass jars it's not eco friendly at all.
@Willow S the mentioned briefly that they buy in bulk so they probably take those containers the the store and fill them up instead of buying things that are packaged.
There was literally no TV in my house until I turned 18 (I mean.. I did have the electronics necessary for school and stuff but that’s it). BEST YEARS OF MY LIFE! It is SO refreshing to see parents in the 20th century do that! Especially people like Mr. Kate who are lucky to be able to provide Moon with many a luxurious item. Hats off to you guys!! So much love ❤️🌙
This legit is a therapy video. It is SO satisfying to watch. I applaud you for decluttering. It takes a lot of courage to undertake such a huge job. Love you guys!
I’m currently in school for early education and I really want to compliment you on having limits on the technology Moon has access to. Learning through play is the basis for all learning throughout life and so I just wanted to say I really appreciate your method.
Thank you thank you for using your huge platform to speak about sustainability!!! Unlike, other huge youtubers that only promote consumerism.❤️❤️❤️ This sets you apart from the rest. Thank you.
I'm not a no technology mom, but I totally applaud you guys! I need it for my sanity and capability to get work/chores done but I DON'T think it's best for children. I work everyday to limit and introduce other forms of play as a primary. Congrats on your achievement of no screens!
I think your closet is minimalist, not because you don't have only a few things but because all of the things in your closet are things that inspire you, or are things that bring you joy. To me minimalism is only keeping things that's sole purpose is to put a smile on your face, and you did an excellent job of that.
Not gonna lie, these vlog style videos where we get a more intimate view into your family and home are giving me life. Ya’ll are making me SO happy and I’m looking forward to your videos that much more!!
Everyone is decluttering. Add onto that the people who are moving out of houses to smaller cheaper environments, and old people moving or dying, around here we're awash in used goods. The line of cars to donate stuff can be an hour. It's a silver lining of the pandemic is that the thrift stores are stocked.
I actually am doing the same thing! My husband and I have gotten rid of a lot of clothes and things we didn’t need but still working on it. Also from a Prek teacher’s point of view, the ideas you have for Moon’s room is awesome! You definitely don’t want to over stimulate him.
I love the emphasis on sustainability and being eco-friendly! It's something I've been working on too, so it's great to get some ideas from this - I moved out for university last year and now I have more freedom to make these choices on my own
I love the fact that you put so much effort in showing how you are being eco friendly is so coool and from the previous video i got inspired and decluttered my wardrobe Thanks Mr kateee😘😘
Being organized is a process, not once for all. Of course people have to revisit their drawers etc. People's interests, needs and habits change, so it is normal to need to reorganize every now and then. Every 6 months seems like a good idea.
If I ever mange to be this clean and organized when I have a child I have made it in Life. HAHA ! Love the house it's truly amazing and so satisfying to watch
Hey love, I’m sorry to hear that your home does not feel like a home. I’ve been there and it’s so cliche, but I assure you it gets better as you find your own goals beyond your circumstances. You are never alone and despite the pain, you are loved💚
Beautiful. Loved the declutter video and this one is even better. Love the way you’re teaching Moon the basic home tasks - it will pay off and he’ll always contribute. I did it with my boy and now he’s 3 he always loves to load & unload the washing machine/dryer, unloads all the cutlery (minus sharp knives) from a dishwasher, can change sheets and set up the table. I don’t expect him to do those things but he always wants to. All my family and friends are amazed he can do so much at such a young age. I love that and I only hope more families would take you as an example 😍
A friendly advice. Depending on the rules of your grocery store, you can take your container with you. The cashier will pre weigh your container. So when you checkout they will subtract the weight of the container. Keep in mind that not all grocery stores will allow you to bring your containers due to COVID.
you can also write the tare weight on your container after the initial weigh in so that you always have it. I usually write my under the lid. or, instead of bringing a bunch of glass jars, you can bring cloth baggies. some of them already have the tare weight on the tag.
Not just specific to this video but need to share! I love how real Kate keeps it in the videos. It’s subtle in the way she’s not afraid to have so many shots of her without makeup and being in her comfy clothes. Not to mention whipping out a boob whenever she needs to breastfeed Moon 🥰. Also love that you openly talk about all of your parenting choices (which are on point btw coming from an ECE) without judgement or fear of being judged. I’m inspired by your choice to co-sleep; it’s not always the right fit for everyone but I am so happy it works for you guys! Also shout out to Joey for being such a stand up man, husband, and father.
I did the same with mine as far as no phones, tv or iPads ect when he was small. I regretted it to some degree when he started school because as advanced as he was in a lot of areas he was also the only kid who didn’t understand the technology that was used in class. For my next child I’ll try to find a happy medium. Technology is a huge part of our world now!
If you have time a good thing to do is only allow tv or electronic when with you. Watch educational videos with you or watch cartoon together once a day or soemthing like that. Engage with them about what you are watching and ask questions. This way your child isn't unsupervised and glued to the screen zoning out but still understand technology and can learn from it too.
i recently de-cluttered and got rid of so much stuff i was holding on to as well! old makeup, jewelry, paperwork/documents, clothes, books... everything! it's been so relieving to have less to care after and be critical about every new addition, it's also saved me so much time on cleaning! i just started my final year of college, and despite everything being remote - it was soo great to start fresh!! great video mr. kate!!!
I love how you incorporated an eco friendly spin in this! I haven’t seen many people do that and I was starting to think I was alone in this lol. I’m trying my best as well to live a more minimalist space while being conscious of the environment. I switched our lotion, dish soap, body wash to fillary which is a subscription that uses reusable containers that just get filled every three months by shipping them back getting it cleaned and then more product gets refilled inside. I never knew there were so many ways to do better and I’m glad to see content of like minded people trying to minimize while being kind to the planet.
Since you decluttered so much makeup and only kept your favorites, would you consider making a video about which products you did keep?! We saw some real quick, but I'm really curious as to what made the cut! xD I need to declutter my makeup too, so many old things that should never be put on a face again... lol
I can’t believe you haven’t got a tv show. I just luv you all as a family. Makes my day when I watch you. Love the enthusiasm and it’s so uplifting watching a happy intuitive program in these times of Covid-19. Thank you. Xx
Should I be doing my homework thats due tonight? Yes. Am I watching Mr.Kate's new video instead? Duh! I saw the post and i literally got soo excited!!! I luv you guys❤️
I just want to say that with this video it feels like you are your old selfes... When you got the baby, you probably needed time to adjust, and your videos where different, but now you came back. And I am soooo happy because of it... You guys are AMAZING!
You guys are not only amazing decorators, you are also amazing parents. I can only imagine the man Moon is going to be someday! The first 7 years of a child's life they are in download mode- taking everything in that will be their future subconscious programming. You are providing the best programming for him to feel safe, secure, loved & successful, however that looks! Thank you for sharing so much of yourselves with us~! You are incredibly inspiring!
Hahaha, loved how Joey looked at Mr. Kate's make up... like a puppy looking at a newborn. Adorable. Fantastic job, it all feels like a spa. And Moon helping... priceless.
Such a healthy, loving and amazing bond you create with Moon, through the upbringing you have chosen for him. I am so impressed and happy looking at you three together. Good job, guys❤️
You guys are like a couple who also make others people happy to be around with 🥰 And you are so beautiful without make💓 I’m a mum of 3 and you can imagine how much stuff at our home😑 thank you for an inspiration!
Love the minimalist house tour.... definitely something I look forward to when I finally move out of my current living situation. Love storing your fruit in the cabinet, just be aware of what you store together, some fruit combinations can accelerate ripening, while other fruit combos can actually decelerate ripening when stored together.
Remember when her intro was something like: I'm mr.kate I'm here I'll take a look at your place (Something Something) for a while And help you find your style We'll laugh And we'll paint Mr.kate (Oh, I'm mr.kate)
That's still their intro but for they're other series going to other people's spaces. They have another one for online celebrities and the one they do mostly for a while now is because they cant go anywhere else lol (:
i love your positive attitudes, people like you guys make the world such a better place. Your home is absolutely gorgeous! Ahh, everything about this relaxes me. It looks amazing guys!! Our son Abrahm was the same way. We took so much time making "the perfect " nursery for him for it just to turn into his playroom! :)
Moon is such a lucky kiddo! He hit the parent jackpot with you guys! Watching his mind expand has been one of the many blessings of watching your channel! My one and only baby (my miracle child) is going to be 18 in a few months, time just flies!! I raised him the same way with limited screen time until he was older. Play is a child’s work and although he is now a video game junkie 😂, when he was little watching the unique way he thought out and approached playing and his imagination and creativity developing was the coolest part of my mommy experience and it helped him learn to think things out and approach things in his own way and it has been awesome to see the man he has become because of that! When he got his first job (McDonalds of course 😂), one of his managers told me that his greatest strengths are how willing he is to think outside the box and his ability to adapt to any situation with ease. I think that those early years built a great foundation because it gave him the tools to develop and be confident in his own abilities! LOVED the clean up song!! Very cool idea and makes picking up part of the fun! Moon is such a little helper!!!
This is so refreshing to watch and implement some (more) de-cluttering. i am loving the 'simplicity'. funny how little we need to be happy and productive. :)
I love how intentional it all is! I’ve always loved your videos and styles, but struggled with bringing things into my space just because it was pretty. Seeing you explain “the why” of it al is so lovely and you looked so happy as you were discussing!
I came here just to say the exact same thing. I stumbled on this while decluttering. I like youtube for motivation but overbearing spouses who cut off the other is the worst thing to watch. Then when she said you take the kid and I will show them the closets.... just cringy.
It's so nice to see another family with a family bed! We have our two children in our bed and we always get questions on when our 5 year old will move to her own bed and it's like when she's ready. She has a bed if she wants to sleep there but she loves cuddles and knowing we are there if she wakes up.
I love and am inspired to do something very much like this in my next house. Right now we are renting so we downsized a ton before moving here. Our goal is too create minimal spaces. It helps mental clarity for sure. The key is too maintain it once it is done. Love you guys.
So beautifully organized! Keeping things down to a minimum is so challenging as parents, as kids to need to be stimulated, and playing with kitchen things is just temporary. What I did was that I purchased most of his toys in a second hand store, and when he is grows them out, we will put the toys back in the store, so other kids can have the same joy he had. But I loved the tour, it's hard to keep the house to the minimum, but whatever it makes you feel better, it's the right choice xx
My linen closet is the place where everything in my place ends up except for ironically linens!! Yesterday I went to go get something out of it and board games and other crap fell on me and I realized I need to organize and get rid of stuff because it legit caused me physical harm so these videos came at the perfect time
New subscriber here from watching her videos on her rentals (cuz god knows I need them), and then the decluttered house tour video just dropped! And I absolutely love decluttering and watching their videos! This video goes even further talking about sustainability and eco-friendly which I love even even more aaaaand most importantly is the parenting skills in between on the little decisions to raise Moon which is really a rare gem these days and absolutely super super love it. (not to mention the cutest moon ever!) Sorry for the longer comment but I don't always find youtubers that when I watch their videos after videos they just get things right one after the other. Always looking forward to your future videos Mr Kate
I LOVE watching your videos!! I'm a Montessori teacher and I get thrilled watching Moon use all his senses to explore his home. He has gems for parents. 💙 also, let's be best friends. K.

I use many second hand things!
So much love ❤️🌙
it’s the 21st century though lmao
Omg I love these kinds of videos. So relaxing to me lol
🙂
Kate omg hi I wish you could decorate my room
i love mr. kate but why are they being so eco friendly and like a sponge that’s lasts 6 months is fine to use every ones and awhile no hate btw
Jessica Kent I love seeing your comments everywhere Jess. It makes me smile every time. ☺️
Hey Jess! Your new house is gorgeous girl! So happy for you, Reece, & the girls.🏡
Moon is so adorable, watching him help you with the laundry and wheel his basket around the house melts my heart ❤️❤️❤️
I absolutely love how your raising your little boy when it comes to tv and ipads and so on thats a awsome idea and also i love you guys too
Yea it’s so hard though to keep kiddos without electronics... if I could go back I would redo that
This legit is a therapy video. It is SO satisfying to watch. I applaud you for decluttering. It takes a lot of courage to undertake such a huge job. Love you guys!
Thank you and so glad you liked it!!
I’m currently in school for early education and I really want to compliment you on having limits on the technology Moon has access to. Learning through play is the basis for all learning throughout life and so I just wanted to say I really appreciate your method.
I agree! Obviously a little is fine but at that age so true!💕
Thank you thank you for using your huge platform to speak about sustainability!!! Unlike, other huge youtubers that only promote consumerism.❤️❤️❤️ This sets you apart from the rest. Thank you.
Love how they are concerned about our environment. Go Kate and Joey!! 💞
I'm convinced! Minimalist is the way to go. You guys have inspired me. Beautiful home. Can I also say you two are the sweetest parents.....
So glad you felt inspired and thank you that's so nice!
Amen. Less stuff. Less stuff. Glad you’re inspired. Changed my life
Sweet Moon helping Mom with the laundry is the cutest ever! ❤️
I'm not a no technology mom, but I totally applaud you guys! I need it for my sanity and capability to get work/chores done but I DON'T think it's best for children. I work everyday to limit and introduce other forms of play as a primary. Congrats on your achievement of no screens!
Yes! A thousand times yes!
You're doing amazing! We're all doing what we can!
The dirty towels in the kitchen will mould the baskets, learned that. So beautiful! Awesome home.
It's something I've been working on too, so it's great to get some ideas from this - I moved out for university last year and now I have more freedom to make these choices on my own
I love the fact that you put so much effort in showing how you are being eco friendly is so coool and from the previous video i got inspired and decluttered my wardrobe
Thanks Mr kateee😘😘
Yay!
i would like to see an honest check-in about 6 months later, to see if they are still THAT organized.
Three years on we are!
I want to see also
same!
Thanks for watching!
so true. just remember we only see the best side 😉
Kate looks so gorgeous without make up!!!
You don't even know how good it feels to see a clean loving home... It's hell at home right now and I so wish I could live in a loving place
Hey love, I’m sorry to hear that your home does not feel like a home. I’ve been there and it’s so cliche, but I assure you it gets better as you find your own goals beyond your circumstances. You are never alone and despite the pain, you are loved💚
Also just remember that happy homes exist but even happy homes have stressful moments. People just tend not to share those.
Who else literally gets SO EXCITED when they post!? I always love your videos! You inspire and motivate me SOOO much!
Moon is so precious, this family is amazing!
You can try letting them watch tv at least 30 minutes per week
If you have time a good thing to do is only allow tv or electronic when with you. Watch educational videos with you or watch cartoon together once a day or soemthing like that. Engage with them about what you are watching and ask questions. This way your child isn't unsupervised and glued to the screen zoning out but still understand technology and can learn from it too.
I'm just 12 years old but I really love organizing and designing ❤️
Kate really made me want to be a interior designer and I can’t wait to see if I can go as far as she has
Dancing Piano you can, when you start feeling it in your bones
I’m so glad you guys included an eco friendly functional space and sharing that with your audience. Just started my journey! Love you guys !
Hi I just wanted to say KATES HAIR LOOKS PERFECT
(I need pink hair asap)
i recently de-cluttered and got rid of so much stuff i was holding on to as well! old makeup, jewelry, paperwork/documents, clothes, books... everything! it's been so relieving to have less to care after and be critical about every new addition, it's also saved me so much time on cleaning! i just started my final year of college, and despite everything being remote - it was soo great to start fresh!! great video mr. kate!!!
Yeeees! Those curls are FIERCE! 😍
I LOVE THE ECO FRIENDLINESS OF THIS VIDEO, we stan an environmentally friendly house!!
Joey in latest videos-
10% talking
40% shirtless
50% looking at Kate
I guess the directors/producers are making him stare at her. It’s awkward to me.
@@wondertwin13 i think he’s just looking at her because it’s polite to do so when someone is talking? Otherwise he would look uninterested.
We saw some real quick, but I'm really curious as to what made the cut! xD I need to declutter my makeup too, so many old things that should never be put on a face again... lol
Great idea! Follow me on instagram @mrkate I post a lot about my products I love there in my insta-stories!
I love it! Clean, pretty but also practical and child friendly ❤️
And it's great that you're trying to live more sustainable 🌱
Thank you!
I've learned to do both
Omg that’s exactly what I just told myself
same 🥺😍
I just want to say that with this video it feels like you are your old selfes... When you got the baby, you probably needed time to adjust, and your videos where different, but now you came back. And I am soooo happy because of it... You guys are AMAZING!
Is it 11:17 pm here in Germany? Yes. Should I be asleep? Yes. Am I still watching the video? Absolutely!💕🥰
Haha it's 12.43 AM, in Kenya and yes I am up watching Mr Kate!
Here in America it's 2:45p.m.
Woah saw this at 11:17 in New York
Love it!
My kiddo is at Waldorf School. We’ve attended since “parent child” and now he’s in 4th grade. Proudest parent thing we ever did!
👍👍👍
Hahaha, loved how Joey looked at Mr. Kate's make up... like a puppy looking at a newborn. Adorable. Fantastic job, it all feels like a spa. And Moon helping... priceless.
You're house has always been goals and now its even more perfect
Such a healthy, loving and amazing bond you create with Moon, through the upbringing you have chosen for him. I am so impressed and happy looking at you three together. Good job, guys❤️
You guys are so professional, fun, caring, loving, enjoyable, inspiring, and creative! 🥰👍🏼✌🏻
You guys are like a couple who also make others people happy to be around with 🥰
And you are so beautiful without make💓
I’m a mum of 3 and you can imagine how much stuff at our home😑 thank you for an inspiration!
Firstly - Moon has to be one of the most beautiful little babas ive ever seen. He is gorgeous.
And -
Thanks for the constant inspiration 🎨✌
Amazing! Love that Kate and Joey are getting into simple, sustainable living!
The Laundry room look wooooowwww awsome, you family are sooo fantastic job.
Love the minimalist house tour.... definitely something I look forward to when I finally move out of my current living situation. Love storing your fruit in the cabinet, just be aware of what you store together, some fruit combinations can accelerate ripening, while other fruit combos can actually decelerate ripening when stored together.
Such inspiration! Trying to get the kids (and myself) on the path to minimalism. Our laundry room is mortifying!
Congrats guys!! Eco-minimalism is the best!!! you are so awesome for taking that huge and important step in your lives!!!
Remember when her intro was something like:
I'm mr.kate I'm here
I'll take a look at your place
(Something Something) for a while
And help you find your style
We'll laugh
And we'll paint
Mr.kate
(Oh, I'm mr.kate)
it was ''Knock Knock, I'm Mr Kate.........''
Knock knock I'm Mr. Kate! Hey you don't even need an introduction you already know who this is
That's still their intro but for they're other series going to other people's spaces. They have another one for online celebrities and the one they do mostly for a while now is because they cant go anywhere else lol (:
It was like that, they have different intros for different videos. Either their life, or them redoing a persons home etc.🙃💕
I missed this intro too. Haha
i love your positive attitudes, people like you guys make the world such a better place. Your home is absolutely gorgeous! And i love the use of eco friendly products, i respect you guys so much for everything you do for our community and world in general. Thank you for being such amazing inspiring people❤️
Ahh, everything about this relaxes me. It looks amazing guys!! Our son Abrahm was the same way. We took so much time making "the perfect " nursery for him for it just to turn into his playroom! :)
i made the decision 3 years ago to declutter and I never regretted it! now im just so happy to see you and your beautiful home
you guys singing the clean up song made me all teary eyed
Aweeee
please my heart was bursting with love throughout this entire video. I admire your family.
I love how intentional it all is! I’ve always loved your videos and styles, but struggled with bringing things into my space just because it was pretty. Seeing you explain “the why” of it al is so lovely and you looked so happy as you were discussing!
Thank you! So glad you like it. The older get the more we realize how important the why is!
I love them as couple, I love them as parents, I love them as humans they are so genuine and good you knowe
I love that he hasn’t watched TV that’s actually so inspiring 🤗💗
you can get refillable pods that you put ground coffee in, which is more eco friendly even than recycling one use pods. stay green 🍃
LOVE IT, here for it, absolutely adore it, decluttering is BEAUTIFUL!
And feels so good!
@@MrKate Hell yea!!
Moon is so big and beautiful, and you two are so amazing. Thanks for sharing your home with us
When Joey is trying to say something then Kate cutting him. Check Joey's reaction at their bathroom. Hahaha
I came here just to say the exact same thing. I stumbled on this while decluttering. I like youtube for motivation but overbearing spouses who cut off the other is the worst thing to watch. Then when she said you take the kid and I will show them the closets.... just cringy.
I totally noticed too!! Bahaha
It's so nice to see another family with a family bed! We have our two children in our bed and we always get questions on when our 5 year old will move to her own bed and it's like when she's ready. She has a bed if she wants to sleep there but she loves cuddles and knowing we are there if she wakes up.
YAY - viewing error is now fixed!!!!! :) thankyou, now I can get my Mr Kate fix.
I love and am inspired to do something very much like this in my next house. Right now we are renting so we downsized a ton before moving here. Our goal is too create minimal spaces. It helps mental clarity for sure. The key is too maintain it once it is done. Love you guys.
Don’t cut off Joey when he’s talking! We want to hear both of you! 🧡
Yes!
I loved the tips and aesthetics. But please, stop cutting Joey off!
they cut each other off throughout. this is a weird comment
Yess, exactly! It would be nicer if both are able to fully execute the explanations n thoughts without cutting anyone while talking
He looks annoyed with her every time
So beautifully organized!
Yesterday I went to go get something out of it and board games and other crap fell on me and I realized I need to organize and get rid of stuff because it legit caused me physical harm so these videos came at the perfect time
Haha good luck and be careful!
(not to mention the cutest moon ever!)
Sorry for the longer comment but I don't always find youtubers that when I watch their videos after videos they just get things right one after the other. Always looking forward to your future videos Mr Kate
Thank you for being here and watching!!
moon is soo cute while napping! awww
I LOVE watching your videos!! I'm a Montessori teacher and I get thrilled watching Moon use all his senses to explore his home. He has gems for parents. 💙 also, let's be best friends. K.
The most organized house award goes to... MR.KATE!
Haha thank you thank you!
@@MrKate Im fangirling right now! I love your videos so much my room is so much more organized simple , but cute and thank you guys so so much 💗
I am constantly impressed by Joey and just how involved he is with everything! Best new age couple of our generation!
mr. Kate is doing parenting right, literally my role model for whenever I have kids
the wonders decluttering can do for the family life and for our own well being, love it!
i'm obsessed with the labelsss!!!! ESPECIALLY the super extra ones in the bathroom cabinets 😁😍
I dont know how you guys find the time to do so many amazing transformation videos...tkcare care of your baby full time and also become minimalists and declutter your entire home....👏👏👏👏👏
You guys are so inspiring as a couple 🙌🏼 I love everything you stand for!!
Awe thank you!
You’re so welcome! The hard work, effort and consistency that you guys put into your content is insane too 💜 You deserve the best!!
