      @@Audientworld I just ordered the ID44 Mk2 because technically 4 channels is all I need at home (and with the sale the ID44Mk2 becomes cheaper than Evo 16)...but you know what we want...
      8 channel interface like the Evo16...except with the ID Mk2 series format! I do not care about size (as long as its rack mountable...4 full units is fine) - and I fully expect a heft price...but basically we want something from Audient to compete with the 8 channel Clarett/Apollo price range! Oh...and if you can get the HP filter to be user adjustable (not just 100hz) within the mixer control app...that would be absolutely epic!

    Please make a tutorial video how to recording 20 input channel simultaneously in ID44 MKII. It's hard to find the finest answer in youtube or even internet.
    I have audient ID4 MKII & ID14 MKII and want to upgrade to this one if I found how to record 20 channel in proper way. Thank you very much🙏🏼

    • @Audientworld
      @Audientworld  2 года назад +1

      To record up to 20 channels, you'd simply need to connect two ADAT devices, such as the ASP880, to the optical ports on the rear of the unit. To ensure everything stays synced up, you'd need to use a BNC word clock cable coming out of the iD44, and then into the two ADAT devices. If you download the iD44 manual from our website, you can see wiring digrams on how to do this.
      Finally, you'd just set up a DAW with 20 tracks and capture input channels 1-20. I hope this helps!

    • @Audientworld
      @Audientworld  7 месяцев назад

      The iD44 does have ever so slightly better specs in terms of its ADCs and DACs and is a bit more portable, but the EVO 16 gives you more inputs and outputs as well as Smart Gain and remote control of the pre-amps which can be super useful. Both will give you great-sounding recordings, it just depends on what fits your workflow better really. Drop us a message at support@audient.com if you do have any questions.

    When clocking with an external unit such as a blacklion exp or a pulse 16, what should be the clocking source? And, which of this two units would you recommend for adat expansion? Thanks. The id44mkii is a good piece of gear by the way.

    • @Audientworld
      @Audientworld  5 месяцев назад

      The iD44 MKII doesn't have a BNC input so if you wanted to clock it from an external word clock, you'd need to use the external clock to clock your ADAT expansion device and then clock the iD44 to this ADAT device over the optical cable.

    Does this audio interface work with Linux? Also how do I make it so that I hear my microphone all the time not just in the digital audio workstation? Do I plug the headphones next to the microphone input? Then I hear the microphone but I don't hear any other audio in the headphones. Do I have to push any buttons to change that? i'm trying to achieve true zero latency monitoring.

    • @Audientworld
      @Audientworld  Месяц назад

      We do not officially support Linux. For zero-latency monitoring, you would need to open the iD mixer software and pull up the fader of the Mic channel you are using. This will then send the audio to your Main mix outputs for direct monitoring of your inputs at practically zero latency.

    Love the balanced inserts, looking to experiment with analog chains and those look amazingly practical for a mono signal.
    But I'm not sure how I'd connect this to a stereo mix bus compressor as it only has 4 line outs and 2 need to be the speakers? Would I need extra outputs through the optical expansion?

    • @Audientworld
      @Audientworld  2 года назад

      If you were feeding audio from your DAW to hardware effects units then you would typically use line outputs 3+4. If these are already in use for a second set of monitors then you can use an external DAC that connects to the iD44 via the Optical connection.

    • @Audientworld

    • @Audientworld
      @Audientworld  2 года назад

      You can plug a Synth into the DI inputs but depending on the synth being used you may have problem with the signal level being too high. On more modern synths that typically output at line level, using the line input on the rear will typically give better results.

    The only thing I don't like about the original is the master scroll wheel in iD mode is too coarse. The indents are massive jumps and not nearly fine enough. From the video it looks like this is no different this time around. Hard to tell from the clip though. Is this different in any way on the new version?

    • @Audientworld
      @Audientworld  2 года назад +1

      Because Scroll Control acts as a mouse scroll wheel, different applications will have different implementations on how course/fine the control is. You can adjust this somewhat by adjusting the scroll wheel sensitivity in your Mouse settings but this will also change the behaviour of your Mouse I'm afraid.

    Does the loopback function offer the ability to send a stereo DAW output and a mono mic input to OBS for recording on separate channels on PC, whilst using the Audient ASIO drivers and not generic Windows audio drivers?
