- BMW M550i interior & exterior detailing of my own car!!! In this video, we’ll detail the exterior and interior of this 2018 BMW M550i xDrive M Performance. I will show you all the steps I go through to prepare and detail a brand new car. You will learn how to wash and clean a new car and how to make the paint shine and how to protect the paint with a ceramic coating.

In this full detail package, we wash the wheels and tires, the body, decontaminate the paint with an iron remover, and protect the paint with two coats of a high gloss ceramic coating as well as applying a hyper slick top coat. We detail the interior by vacuuming, cleaning the windows, cleaning and protecting the interior trim, cleaning and protecting the leather seats and dusting the air vents and surfaces.

BUT one simple item is missing:
POLYURETHANE bumper protection film.
No ceramic coating will save you from scufs and chips.
$170 custom fit to your car.
Thanks! I just don't like PPF. I don't like the look and I don't like the feel. I've never had issues with stone chips really, ever. So not a selling point for me.
Hard to believe, BUT OK. )))))) On my 2015 A6 all face is in micro chips and cracks. Although you can see it when you are REALLY close. )) And this is with VERY gentle and careful drive. I plan to paint whole front bumper and protect it with PPF. Enough is enough.
To each their own, I have no issues with that. ;)
Pan, question... why didn't you take the wheels off when cleaning them and applying the coatings? This would have allowed you to thoroughly clean the back of the wheel and deep inside the wheel rim, plus wouldn't it be better to have the wheel coating on the inside of the rim due to that this is where MOST of the brake dust occurs AND is usually the hardest to thoroughly clean off due to the brakes being in the way?
Also, when taking off the wheels you could have cleaned and applied a coating to the inner wheel hub panels as well due to dirt and grime and brake dust also accumulates here a lot, as well.
I know, for most, that this is above and extreme for nick picking little details, but I figure since your videos show how meticulous you are when it comes to your detailing, I just was wondering why you wouldn't take your wheel cleaning to this level, is all?
Hi Bernie. A full wheels off service is just too much. My cars are detailed twice weekly so they never really have brake dust anyways. For the inner barrels and calipers, I spray a product like CarPro HydrO2 or Gyeon Wet Coat (silica based spray sealant, water activated) which does the job without having to remove the wheels. Yes the perfection would be a wheels off service, but in my case, it's not worth the extra time.
WAIT... you detail your cars "TWICE A WEEK"?! DAMN! That's a lot! LOL I can understand washing your car twice a week, but detailing them twice a week? WOW! You're crazy! LOL
Yup. I spend 3 hours every time just making sure it's dialed in on every maintenance wash. Overkill I know, but that's the OCD in me. One of the reasons I started my channel, to share my passion (and obsession) with detailing. :)
Then stop denying your OCD the pleasure of taking off the wheels to thoroughly clean them and ceramic coating your rims and wheel hubs! LOL
Wait a minute... 3 hours? I thought you said it takes you 10 hours to thoroughly detail your car?
