Being in the U.K., it’s lovely to see not everyone west of us eats lots of breakfast rolls first thing, lovely to see you love a healthier breakfast with yoghurt and oats. I haven’t made granola but will give your recipe a try for my yoghurt. I too prefer natural sweetness of the fruit to sing, as you get older, I think we prefer less sweetness? I tend to have yoghurt with berries, coconut curls, splash of crushed hazelnuts and seeds, or porridge with fruit (love grapes or peaches).
I agree completely with your breakfast choices. We've traveled in Europe and THOROUGHLY enjoy the breakfasts with meats, cheeses, yoghurt, fruit and nuts. I'm also a big fan of oatmeal with fruit and nuts. (my favorite is peaches and pecans)
That does sound yummy. I need to break out of my rut and try new combinations with the next batch. I might have to divide it into 4-5 different batches to try 4-5 different combinations. Then we can decide which ones we like best. :)
Homemade is best! I do add homemade vanilla in with my wet ingredients….also if you want to make granola bars, I blend apricots or prunes, peanut butter, and some of that granola in a blender. Melt some coconut oil, vanilla, and honey or maple syrup. Pour into dry ingredients. Press down into a 9x13 pan,,,,I sometimes melt a little dark chocolate to drizzle over the top and sprinkle a tad bit of sea salt on top,,,,pop in the fridge and voila! Thank you for all the videos! Stay warm ❄️
Yum!!! Granola bars are a great idea.... I'm gonna have to give that a try. We were very warm here yesterday (70), but winter returns tonight (25). I'm ready for the REAL spring. 😎
Great! Glad you are enjoying it. I just got some 5 grain cereal from Azure Standard and I might try using that the next time in place of the oatmeal. That would make it even more nutritious.
Granola is the best! We make it then eat it as a quick snack, cereal, or topping for homemade Greek yogurt. Every now and then I roast some peanuts in it, incorporating that honey-roasted flavor. I'll have to try the almonds with the cranberries.
Great video! As you are looking for suggestions... Maple pecan is a delicious combination...Swap maple syrup for honey. Vanilla with the almond is delicious. Cranberries go great with both 🙂
Yes I love my granola over yogurt with a hot cup of coffee....YUM😋 Your Granola looks delish. I have been making Applesauce like crazy. Loving my Applesauce maker. Thanks for the recommendation Brenda. I tagged you in my video ~ uploading this weekend. Be Blessed and you two have an amazing day🙏🏾💙🙏🏾
Hello guys:) I make my own granola too, I cannot wait to try your recipe:) How is the weather there today? We got a pretty bad ice storm over here in Buffalo NY… most of my young trees are pretty damaged.
We have a spring day here... 70 degrees. It'll be back to winter in a day or so. I'm worried about our fruit trees. These warm days could get the blossoms to open and then the frost would kill the blossoms. Plants get confused when it gets warm too soon.
Do you recall eating a cereal called sugar pops as a kid? It was made of kamut. You'll like it. It's cool and delicious in homemade granola. I make it too and was over baking it. I'll try it at 250 F for two hours. Thanks for a great video Enjoy your healthy snack!
I find most too dry, too hard and they remind me of cardboard. I'll give yours a try as my last recipe was too sweet and sticky. I don't mesure most times either. God bless and keep growing
@@carolkantner1770 Oh....that is a shame. I wonder what is in it that causes the reaction. Maybe the pollen of whatever plants they are gathering? Can you eat agave nectar? I like that too.
Steve made a grocery list of items we don't have. He's making granola tomorrow. Thanks for sharing, Brenda & Don.
Enjoy!!! We've had it every morning since I made it.

walnuts with dried apple and cinnamon, is also a delicious combination
That does sound good!!! I'm adding that to my list for the next batch. 🙂
Dried pineapple, dried apricots yum!

You will LOVE it. :)
Brenda it looks good, I was told that whole flax seeds are indigestible if whole the seed coat doesn’t break down. I buy it ground 🎄
Thanks for the info. I never heard that. I'll be sure to grind them in the future. THANKS!
I dried strawberries this summer and added some of those in my granola. Apricots are also delish
My grandkids LOVE strawberries... I'm going to have to do a batch with strawberries this spring after our strawberry harvest.
I'd use dates and even apricots. I really like apricots.
I really like apricots too. I'll have to give that a try.
Good morning Brenda and Don🖐🏾😁I agree with you I prefer making my own granola also.
There's nothing better available. The stuff in the stores just doesn't cut it. 😁
Just came across your channel and my oh my am I excited to subscribe!!!!!

I love dates... I'll have to try that .

This looks yummy. I need to try this.
You'll never go back to store bought granola. 😁
I add sliced almonds, pumpkin seeds, raw sunflower seeds, coconut, to my granola and sweeten with maple syrup.
YUM!!
Dried cherries and dried blue berries and maple syrup in spread of honey
We love dried cherries. I'll have to try that in my next batch. Thanks for the suggestion.

Hi from Bendigo Victoria, what about dried Blue or dried Strawberry as a different fruit
That does sound yummy.....now you also have me thinking about dried apples. (since it's fall here we have an abundance of apples)
Try adding Kamut too!
I've never heard of that grain...had to look it up. I might have to give that a try.

@@irenegoldsmithesq.8376 I did eat sugar pops. 😁 I'm going to have to look into this new grain.

I hope you enjoy it. For me it's just the right amount of sweetness.
Great video! You’s are too cute!
Thanks!!!
Looks delicious.... except for the honey....that is itchy
Ohh, we LOVE honey.
Sounds weird but I'm allergic to honey
