- One of the best things about having awesome Filipino friends who are great at cooking? When you find an island paradise in Tawi-Tawi, they can take the fresh fish you bought at the market, and turn it into a delicious meal!! Super thankful to my friends for this awesome afternoon!
We left the main island of Simunul and ended up crossing five minutes to a smaller island called Sangay Siapo. This island is paradise! Clean water, white sand, coconut trees... during high tide the turquoise blue water stretches out forever... and low tide brings a golden glow, as the sand gently washes around beneath the ocean surface.
Jandee and the guys cooked some amazing local fish, and we served it all up local style... yup, nothing better than some local Filipino eating on an island!
Tawi-Tawi is home to many local paradise islands...

I'm feeling nostagic watching your Tawi-Tawi vlogs. I missed the long stretch of unexploited pristine white sand beaches of Sulu and Tawi-Tawi, not to mention the fresh seafoods. I am from Iligan city but I used to work in Sulu but part of my job was to visit the different islands of Tawi-Tawi. The people are really amazing and genuine if you get to know them well. I'm glad that you are able to showcase this island because most of the people in the Philippines are afraid to visit this place. You should visit Sulu too. Sulu archipelago is one of the greatest part of the Philippine history. Magsukul Kulas!

I love what the guy said about wishing vloggers to come to Simunul! 💛 That place is really special. The people are lovely and very welcoming. This place (and other places) in Mindanao doesn't deserve the negative publicity. Just travel smartly, respectably and coordinate with the local tourism office. It's a special kind of adventure!

Malara means Maanghang. Derive from the word LARA that means Chili. Damn Nostalgia Kulas, we missed the place where everything is cheap specially Seafoods.

LARA in kapampangan also means chili by the way.
Malara in kapangpangan is full of chili or too spicy
malara is a tausug word for maanghang. While its sinama is ngà-ngà

Love all d drone footages of this Ep. My fave was when u guys were leaving Sangay Siapo heading back to base. Love d slomo scene of d boat turning towards home base. The sunset in d backdrop is nothing but total awesomeness, d ocean fairly calm w/different shade of blue depending on depth. Kyle u n ur buddies went to heaven n back...d islands are truly paradise. The background music is glorious n heighten d drama to new level...wow...

@@priscillarobb647 me too. I have that stereotype thinking when talking about Jolo Sulu, Basilan, and Tawi-Tawi. I can't get that out of my head. I just hope lasting peace will be achieve soon so that we can visit those places carefree. It is also good for the community since tourism will bring in money. I wish even once in my life I can visit those parts of mindanao. Our country is beautiful.
I have that mindset even though I'm mindanaoan myself. How much more those who are living outside Mindanao.
Michael Valmoria , I am from Iligan City, Lanao Del Norte. I grow up surrounded with kind Muslim friends. I have visited all parts of mindanao except those islands. Started to visit islands in Visayas. My dream is to visit as many islands as I can while I can travel. The problem is I only visit my family once in every two years. I live here in USA.

This is so amazing. Im from Mindanao and living here in luzon, most of the Filipinos(grew up in Luzon) stereotype Mindanao as a war zone, hostility, chaos and many other things. They rather set foot on foreign land to travel and enjoy the nature of other nations soil rather than exploring the beautiful places in the Philippines. Its just sad, how colonialism change our perception of other places, then language divided us and negative publicity separated every Filipino. We could have enjoyed many places like this in our country. Then comes Kulas, a foreigner(joke lang bai) living with the locals, enjoying the hospitality of the people, loving the food, and simply living a happy life with Filipinos. Thank you Kulas for sharing this amazing place, I hope i can come back soon to Tawi-Tawi.

Ken Perocho so true. I have friend who lives in Cagayan de Oro city . A city that is only less than two hour drive from Iligan City. . I asked her to visit us in iligan city and willing to show her the beauty of our falls. She turned down my offer because she was scared of the Muslims. Really? What a shame to be scared of our own kababayan. .
