Synopsis: After 12 years in prison, former high school football star Eddie Palmer returns home to put his life back together-and forms an unlikely bond with Sam, an outcast boy from a troubled home. My dad just died last night, 01 Jan 2022 after a hard but short battle with pancreatic cancer. This is the song that was playing. It is and will always be a dear and special song to me.

I just got out of a 28 day rehabilitation program and this song was at the top of my recommended list here on youtube. I've been blasting this song all day and it has brought me to tears numerous times. It's exactly what I needed to hear. Thank you Nathaniel, for writing such a passionate, emotional plea for peace and understanding. This song will be a daily reminder to seek the best in myself and the world around me.

Maybe we are struggling to find that worthiness. Maybe we feel we were dealt a bad hand in life. Whatever it may be, We can, will and do find that redemption. The easy part is finding it from others. The hardest part is finding it in ourselves. Trust me, once it is found in ourselves, that is where we start to find that Peace. We start to find our true selves. We start to find worthiness in ourselves. It is then, that our lives start to define us. It is then that we find purpose in ourselves. My Wish is, that you start to see Redemption coming within you and your life. You deserve it. I know you will find it. I believe in you. Believing in yourself, is the hardest part, however, that is where you will find your Redemption.
From someone with a few coins themselves, take it one day at a time. The first year is always the hardest and I know you can do it.

It's not that, it's the video, of that movie, I've never even heard about, where JT is being an irresponsible parent by allowing his kid to be so lost smh movies, how they really leave out a lot of reality, in reality, the Father wud prbly be absent from kids life, or very deranged himself, so he'd encourage poor young soul to walk in such a twisted, typically a dad who's gonna fight someone at the bar, or even looks like JT's character, the sons some bully disrespectful little kid smh I'm just saying, movies mislead, really wanna figure things out, just listen to God's instructions, things will feel aligned within, society is so mislead because of movies and songs it's crazy smh like how?? Why wud a parent be okay with a child of theirs claiming to be opposite sex?? And after that it becomes obvious that they follow us because that prison is a part of us. And only once we see that prison for the fabrication that it is do we recognize that we created it ourselves long ago, and have always had the freedom we so long for right in front of us.

Made me cry! Again! I was lucky enough to see The Sweats front and center in Detroit. Also, at Farm Aide on the rainy hill. I was in heaven! I am looking forward to the day I get to see him solo. What raw emotion! Seriously earth shaking. My life and planet earth are so much better with him and his beautiful music.
I watched them in Burnaby, BC in 2018 at an outdoor music festival at Deer Lake. It was pissing rain. We laughed, we cried, we danced, we sang, we drank. It was amazing. I’m so looking forward to more of his solo career as well! 🥰

The lyrics for "Redemption" were so kind, gentle and powerful. I found myself tearful and immediately typed the subtitle on my computer, "Heartistry & Healing.....The Story of Redemption!" A few years ago I was flying out of PDX to go to my grandmother's funeral. Popped into a restaurant/bar for breakfast and sat down amongst a group that was hanging out there. I had no idea who they were, just hung out, talked, and shared food with genuine, down-to-earth, good fun people. Turns out it was Nathaniel Rateliff's band, and I've been a big fan ever since. This man brings me so much joy with each an every song.. I found this band years ago, and have never looked back. I love them so much. They are so incredibly talented. En écoutant cette chanson à chaque fois, je repense à ma dernière rupture et la situation tragique de mon père… les deux au même moment 😔 après les problèmes juridiques de mon père qui l’on conduit en prison, sur le même coup ma petite amie décide de me lâcher brutalement. In quiet moments, I have to ask myself - when people sit in certain judgement of others - why do they get to choose? I'll put this movie on my view list and I bet I learn how to be a better person...Nathan's an under-appreciated singer and JTs an under-appreciated actor!

When other people sit in Judgement, it is a reflection of themselves, that they are fronted with, that they are unable to change within, so, they deflect it outward, towards others. It’s easier to say others are screwed up, than it is to admit, it is themself that is screwed up.

Both that movie and that song the message in both just punch right to the core of your soul, and if they don’t you might wanna question if you have one! Watched that movie with my 3 boys 11, 13, and 20 had us all tearing up. You couldn’t help but wanna fight the world for that sweet kid!

Umm yeah , this guy is amazing, I got divorced a few years back and started hearing voices and got to the point I thought the cia was trying to kill me and yeah it got bad , and even in the middle of my phycosis this guys music helped so much , i love this dudes work you can feel the emotion in his music
Beat Liver Cancer twice, stabbed a few times and been shot, and have damage because of it. You always fight no matter what to be back where you were when it all started before it all went down. You never surrender, never quit, never back down. In the end? I have 4 kids, an amazing lady and a pack of dogs to help me in the dark days. Sorry rambling. Just never ever quit. Find help cause life is so beautiful a thing it is a shame to miss a moment.
