    Excellent stuff. This is definitely one of those core capabilities I recommend implementing in-house over using a third party library for your given framework. While the benefits of using an established package are immediately apparent, at some point in your needs will diverge and you'll find yourself fighting against the library, often over the most trivial things (e.g. do you record IP addresses? If so, do you use an IP version-agnostic column type?). Have been burned several times with Django, Laravel and others over the years when trying to take short cuts with this type of feature.

      I used the free trial for Fathom Analytics, and while it can be interesting to see I just realized I wasn’t really getting any value out of it. I’m sure larger apps with more traffic get more value, but hey I can always add it later down the line if I want something more robust
