Thanks for covering this lovely bit of kit with all your recent videos, it’s still so new will be a while before more people start to cover it. Since you’ve been putting up really comprehensive coverage of keyboard itself do you think your could also cover it’s functionality in some of the more popular DAWs? Like FL Studio and Ableton for instance?
Thanks! Haha funny you should ask...my next scheduled video releasing later today is on connecting the oxygen pro to FL Studio! I do plan to put out additional DAW connection videos as well in the near future (e.g. Ableton).
Hey, I was wondering if you could help me out. Under my midi input devices it shows something different: oxygen pro 49 editor, Oxygen pro 49 Mackie/HUI, Oxygen Pro 49 Midi Din, and Oxygen Pro 49 USB Midi. Which one am I supposed to use for the send to and receive from peripherals? Thanks bunch!
Hi there this is good but I have a question I open the virtual instrument and press the keyboard, there is no sound. MIDI is not input even when recording. How can I fix it?
@@DSoundman thank you so much! I have another question: I've seen some of your videos but I didn't understand how to set the pads on a different channel (different from the keys' channel), this way I can't use both of them at the same time. (I'm talking about the oxygen pro mini) thank you in advance!
I have followed the instructions on this video and the instructions from M-Audio for connecting my Oxygen Pro 49 (“OP”) to Pro Tools 2020.12.2 (”PT”) on Windows 10 and cannot get the OP faders, knobs, or transport buttons to control PT faders, knobs or transport controls. How do I get these to work? I am doing this in DAW Mode with PT selected on the OP. In my PT Setup the MIDI Input Enable lists: MIDIIN2 (Oxygen Pro 49)[Emulated]; MIDIIN3 (Oxygen Pro 49)[Emulated]; MIDIIN4 (Oxygen Pro 49)[Emulated]; Oxygen Pro 49[Emulated], all of which are enabled. What should be the correct settings in PT -Setup - Peripherals for: (i) MACHINE CONTROL: and (ii) MIDI CONTROLLERS? FYI, the OP does control virtual instruments [i.e. Mini Grand], both in stand-alone or in PT when the OP is set to Preset Mode. Thank you. JAS
For the DAW control setup: In the PT Setup > Peripherals menu, in the Midi Controllers tab, you need to set it to HUI, MIDIIN 3, MIDIOUT3. I can watch this in the video at 2:35 if that helps. Hopefully that gets it working for you!
@@DSoundman thank you so much for the fast reply. That is what I did several times yesterday and again today and would get a message that "Pro Tools is unable to communicate with HUI." I just tried it again and it works! I don't get it, but am happy. Keep up the good work!
Glad it’s working now! I’ve found that I have to make sure the controller is plugged in and turned on before I even open pro tools, otherwise I get a similar error.
OK. Normally I can figure things out but this one is throwing me off. I'm done all of my downloads and everything is set properly. When I go into the setup menu in protools it does not show the midi controller at all. I am using the Oxy 49 Pro. I have followed everything in the directions from m-audio and from you but it shows nothing. Any ideas? I am using protools first.
It’s been a long time since I’ve used ableton, but I never fell in love with it. Could just be my style of playing/recording or the fact that I never spent much time in it! I love Pro Tools though. I’ll be giving Ableton a shot here soon to make a couple oxygen pro videos relating to it, so I’ll see how I like it in comparison.
@@DSoundman that would be awesome. I began with “pro tools first”. Unfortunately, there were too many glitches for me as a beginner. I’ve never had any issues with ableton live lite. They’re both free versions but if I get a shot with “pro tools first”, I’ll have a benefit of unlimited tracks over ableton live lite.
Thankyou Sir..
After one month, these things just ok with me after watching your lovely video. 🙏👏👍👌💐
Thank you so much for this. Glad I found this video!
Thank you, thank you, thank you! I’ve been on this for two days trying to figure this out! 😆
This was very helpful .Thanks much sir !

Interesting...I would try Oxygen Pro 49 Mackie/HUI. It could be they renamed the inputs/outputs on the more recent models.
@@DSoundman Just got my pro25 up and running with PT and can confirm this. Choose Mackie/HUI option for both R/from;S/to.
Your the best!!
Thank you!
Can you make video how it works with Cubase 11?
Possibly!
Hi there this is good but I have a question I open the virtual instrument and press the keyboard, there is no sound. MIDI is not input even when recording.

possibly add as instrument track not midi track
How's it working Big Sur Big Sur any problems so far
All good so far! Loving it!
thank you sir
Cheers dude...!!!
preferences options is not there under set up (using MAC)
Is Pro Tools free license limited to 30 days?
What should i do after these 30 days of free trial?
Pro Tools First Edition (free) isn’t a trial. You can use it for as long as you want, it’s just lacking some of the features of the full paid version.

Have you tried a different USB port? Also make sure the controller is on before opening Pro Tools.
Do you prefer pro tools over ableton??

after update my Pro Tools stop recognizing M AUDIO OXYGEN PRO 49
Midi in 3 is not showing up as a choice in my RECEIVE FROM peripherals just MIDI 2/MIDI 4...BUT IT DOES SHOW IN MY MIDI SEND TO.
can I get a response from you one day?
Sorry I missed this question! If you go to the Setup > MIDI > MIDI Input Devices, is the MIDIIN3 checked (enabled) there?
@@DSoundman Yes it is checked there
@@DSoundman it is not present on my midi input
@@DSoundman The only thing showing up in MIDI input Enable is MIDI IN2/MIDI IN 4/ OXYGEN PRO 49 Emulated...3 DOES NOT SHOW UP.
Dang was hoping you wouldn't say pro tools first doesn't support peripherals :((
