Popo hit me - The first time I did not say anything and they also never said sorry.
I took care of Popo who was 96 years old. My employer’s sister would come to the house and soon I would be very fearful of her. Once, she squeezed my arms until it was blue black. I remember till this day, I never felt angry but just fear. I understand and really try to understand that she is old and loves her mother very much. I always forgive and forgive.
Popo passed away a few months ago. I had a good bonding with her. She was a good catholic. I remembered there was a day, (I think) she felt lonely and was praying in Cantonese. I held her hands and prayed with her in Bahasa. She smiled, as though she understood what I said.
For me, if I can be anything, I just want to be kind.

We want to use the power of personal story to build resonance, empathy and connection.
Beyond the job title and perceived label, everyone has a story, untold - if we take the time to care and listen, we will realise we are more similar than different. Everyone is working on the same dream and aspiration to building a better future for our family and loved ones, to becoming better - an ideal father, responsible mother, filial son and caring daughter.
These stories are raw yet universal. It doesn't happen in Singapore only, we hope this story showcase will ignite a spark of hope and light for everyone around the globe "to be the lantern that shine in the darkest".
We are looking for partnership to bring the physical showcase and video stories to more people around the world.
