Oh about the floor potency, it has a less favorable scaling factor in comparison to raw potency so that 22-24% floor potency will scale to about 16% damage ajustment. Still insane. Thatd lush you to close to 90-100% damage adjustment
This is super helpful! Still trying to figure what I want to do. I bounce between classes a lot and don't want to have 3 sets to swap out so I am attempting to find what us best for me to do lol.

That's still somewhere around a 42-44% potency build. Super strong and for like 1/10th the price.
Good observation! If youre still leveling i wouldnt invest much resources into maxing out the units level and augmenting with expensive capsules. Levels will zoom by and you just need to be sure that your gear can reach the bp threshold to continue the story missions.

Great video! I’m hesitant to lose my last sheza unit from Aelio as my drop for it was incredibly lucky: Fixa natura 5. Do you think I should swap it out regardless?
Fixa natura is really only noticeable on Force mainclass due to their already high natural recovery rate. If You're not Force mainclass, you're free to move ibto 5* units without feeling like you lost much. Enthusia/Performa fixas are your go-to fixas for all other offense builds.
average player - melee 3vios / ranged 3greas god tier player who can dodge/parry everything - just use 3 greas element resistance is so important in this patch.
Is it? What monsters make element resist a must have? I feel like most ailments are lackluster aside from being froze which i havent encountered any mobs that freeze
How bad is the negative 150% in status? Can a mob sneeze a fireball and you die while engulf on fire? Or is it a percentage more in Damage you take from a fireball?
Damage is minimal while on fire but youll gdt a -20% damage debuff. But most status ailments are not that impactful. The real pain in the butt one is being frozen which currently no Retem monsters freeze.
How about 2 greas 1 vios? You get mostly glass cannon, and more PP without being 100% suicidal with -120hp? I've been playing force with 2 piece geant for a while and it is kinda rough with -40hp already, even at 35 with maxed viossel 3rd piece I take massive dmg.
You absolutely could. But also consider a change in your augments too. 2greas1vios is -80hp, 5% potency, 34pp You could swap a 4th augment stat3 capsule for dread keeper2/3 for some added tankiness. This would allow you to go into 3 greas or 3 geant and you would net lose 1% potency but earn all the other dread keeper upside (+hp,pp,floor pot, damage resist). Building your gear is a case by case basis, but a lot of builds can be fine tuned by simply switching one augment or unit. Your head is in the right direction with greas/vios but you can achieve similar results with augment switching too, maybe even more favorable results.
You can refer to the table of stats for every unit. But i feel Vifj armor offer nothing important when compared to other units. 30 hp and 4pp, and no potency. If your goal is to get health in your build, theres better options, if youre seeking more pp, theres better options. Example: one geant and one vidalun unit would offer similar hp, more pp, and potency. Vijf doesnt excel in anything which is the problem. Viosel armor offers more pp, but no hp or potency. Geant is still better imo. If your concern is the negative to status ailment resistance, then youre looking for probably vios armor. But even THEN you could augment Addi Ward(mel/ra/te) for 20% resistance. That on all 3 units and weapon would give you 80% resist. Paited with 2 geant/greas, now youre only -20 status ailment resist. Geant/greas is too good to pass up, and you can cover pretty much any concern you have with those units by including a different third unot OR a slight change in how you augment.
We cover the capsules in more detail in my augmenting video. But yes, you would want to consider the -hp/-damage resist from secreta. If this is too much of a risk for your build, the next best offensive option would be might/tech/precision III
@@Thriftshoppin Not any of the Forms 3? Like the build could be: Might/Tech/Precision III Forms(main specific) III Gigas(main/sub specific if Technique class) Alta Secreta III
@@luiseatoll6368 You absolutely could but youre taking a .5% potency loss, 2% total. Swapping secreta for stat3 retains the same potency but you lose the floor potency
@@Thriftshoppin Guess I didn't phrase that well. What I was thinking is that the Forms could reduce the risk of an Alts Secreta by replacing Boss souls(Ragras etc.) to Forms. The Giga stat will have to negate the HP reduction coming from Alts Secreta which, would be 5 if it's giga stat 3 and 0 if giga stat 2. Trade off after the tally is 4% increase in damage reduction, 10% Floor Potency, 2% Potency and 20HP(giga stat 3) at the cost of 6% damage reduction and 40HP(0 if giga stat 2).
This video was recommended to me. I have a problem with you saying 3 vios is worse, imo you are just trying to be contrarian. The big problem is you are severely under valuing not having the -100% status effect. Where as the first set up (geas + vid) you only gain 3 armor and 30 hp while the second you are up 17 armor and down 10 hp. We do not know the attack stat of every monster (atleast I looked online and no one has a chart, only the damage calculation formula). Based on the formula we currently have that little armor difference will be unlikely to save you where as not getting and elemental proc is more likely to save you. Just think, the most vulnerable you are is when you can't move. If you get frozen it doesn't matter on your defense because you are likely to die regardless, or if you get a fire proc which will result in more overall damage than if you did not get proceed. until we get anti or something similar negative status effect is a really poor stat to have on your armor since we have no in combat counters to it.
To add to that, the final part of the formula is we are taking 20% of damage calculated. That means generally enemy attack stats are 5x higher than what you think. This mean bosses are at 1k+ attack stat whish makes the armor differential kinda moot. The situation this would change would be trash mobs, but again being locked in place due to a status effect is more likely to kill you than getting hit by trash.
For sure! I agree that being stuck in place due to the freeze status ailment is a huge game changer, but what monsters in Retem currently freeze? If the monsters change, or once we get to the winter region, yes status ailments will be much more of concern. So I agree and disagree with your point. Moving forward with content status ailments will always be of concern but in Retem there isnt any ailment that is of major concern, in my opinion. Its for this reason I suggest geant/greas over vios. When freeze status ailment becomes prevalent, all other armors will become a more sought after option.
I have 2 greas armor and 1 viosel and I use a bow, this armors with food with 14pp I have 178pp and 376hp but it’s very nice y have a lot pp and range damage
Agreed! A liitle more hp, a little less pp when compared to Greas. But most of us probably have good fixas on that Geant armor. Its kind of nice not having to focus on all new units + a weapon right away!
@@Thriftshoppin yeah.. plus, maxed the greas or whatever… and it literally is the same everything, even BP as my geant.. just less HP… so I definitely needed to give them to my Alts. I made a tank with the armor with the 70 BP.. my maxed HP was like 735 or something with them on lol
Do you have proof of this? It only shows the adjustment if the augment is on the weapon but floor potency affects the weapon damage adjustment if augmented to units as well
great video. I think Sega got confused and actually should have put Greas Armor out first in Aelio region and Geant in Retem and switch the defense.
Right? Most of the community was expecting a slight upgrade, even 2.5% potency. But no potency difference when compared to Geant is surprising.

I've been playing force with 2 piece geant for a while and it is kinda rough with -40hp already, even at 35 with maxed viossel 3rd piece I take massive dmg.
You absolutely could. But also consider a change in your augments too.
2greas1vios is -80hp, 5% potency, 34pp
You could swap a 4th augment stat3 capsule for dread keeper2/3 for some added tankiness.
What about 3 x vijif units? It's a good pp and hp to balance it out? Or would 2 vidolan and a viosal unit be better?
You didn't account for the negative damage resistance coming from Secreta 3?
We cover the capsules in more detail in my augmenting video. But yes, you would want to consider the -hp/-damage resist from secreta. If this is too much of a risk for your build, the next best offensive option would be might/tech/precision III
@@Thriftshoppin Not any of the Forms 3? Like the build could be:
Might/Tech/Precision III
Forms(main specific) III
Gigas(main/sub specific if Technique class)
Alta Secreta III
Good video 😊
Thanks Rhythm!
Man I don't wanna grind new armors again as a free to play guy lol.
Units should be the last thing you focus on. Weapons are much more important this update!
I have 2 greas armor and 1 viosel and I use a bow, this armors with food with 14pp I have 178pp and 376hp but it’s very nice y have a lot pp and range damage
Sheesh! 178pp thats WILD
@@Thriftshoppin I will use you combination 2 Greas 1 vidaliun for bouncer blades thanks for the advice
go thrift, go thrift :D
I still use geant and sense it’s the best armor for me.
@@joeresio DANG YOU TANKY!
@@Thriftshoppin yeah… but I went right back to my geant lol
@@joeresio ahaha Geant Armors are juat that good!
did Greas Viosel Vios
Interesting! High PP and youre covering some of the -element resist with viosel.
I dig it!
the meta is geant or greas armor... O theorycrafting... so sad about that !
Ahh if youre always focusing on potency then yes!
Good job. One problem though. Floor potency doesn't work on armor. It's only effective on weapons.
Do you have proof of this? It only shows the adjustment if the augment is on the weapon but floor potency affects the weapon damage adjustment if augmented to units as well
That’s a rumor, it does work, it’s just not shown on the weapon stat
Frame data proves this as well
Okay good to know. I used mastery 2 on all my units early on release and saw no effect. I was upset.
@@khopdub6206 for sure! Rest assures, youre getting the floor potency. Here's to goping SEGA fixes that.
very nice video, i like 💎💪🏽😉
Thank you!
