just got my 22 & 23 FX HO back from the dealer the other day. There is a dealer software update for the gas gauge, took no time at all to get them both updates.
Yamaha 🌊 runner has finally fixed the long standing issue of faulty low fuel warning buzzers and fuel consumption trip meters.
23 fxho leftover, reprogrammed, 74.8 mi, 5.7 mpg, 13.1 gal used, beeped when putting on trailer with nose up, 7.7 hrs on ski. vent blocker removed filled to top.
Own a 2024 FX fuel warning comes on after only 10 gallons burned. Very annoying, going to see if dealer has a fix definitely not accurate as I have never put more than 10 gallons in after listening to alarm for the ride back to the dock.
I have a 2022 FX HO and a new 2024 FX HO Cruiser and the 2024 has definitely been fixed. Thank God! BTW the 2024 seems to burn more fuel. Not the green bean they claim it to be😎
Yes the new 1.9 burns more fuel at any given speed. 24 GP HO is what I have.
My fuel alarm goes off at around 11 gallons used. But I haven't removed my check valve. I don't spend 30 minutes at the pump.
I fill it until fuel stands at the bend in the fill hose for a few seconds. It eventually drains into the tank. But I'm not getting a full tank.
According to green hulk forums users you can only get about 17 in the tsnk without removing the check valve unless you spend a day at then pump..
3/4 of a gallon unusable. So most of us are running an effective 16 gallons. Mine beeps at 11 gallons used thats 5 gallons left.
That’s my findings as well thus for! Average around 4.8 MPG cruising on my 2024 FX Crusier HO
@LifeBeginsOnTheWater
That's a lot of fuel burn.
My 24 GP HO burns 15 GPH at WOT and at just under 2000 ft goes 64 MPH. The GP gets about 4.3 MPG all out and the FX 4.8 cruising? Sheesh!
I did a quick test. I cruised around the lake for a bit at 40, dash said 6.2 MPG, this is at 3000 ft elevation.
How is the FX so thirsty?
I can only speak on my behalf in regards to my results. That’s what I’m currently getting cruising at 45MPH 95% of the ride. Keep in mind I only have 13 hours. Hoping to see some improvement after a few more hours & first service. I can tell you my friend with the exact same Waverunner isn’t seeing any better!
@LifeBeginsOnTheWater
Hmm....
Maybe my GP is a unicorn 🦄? Lol.
I'm not doubting you. Just surprised by how much that ski drinks. I have 10.3 on my GP service scheduled for this Thursday.
After I get her serviced I'll do another cruise test. I would love it if I get more milage!
the 23 alarm update didn’t fix mine starts after 10 gallons used, 8 gallons remaining, I can tap the mute button and as soon as I take off it goes off again. I hate my ski
2023 alarm came on with one bar showing red turned off the motor back on alarm stopped
heard 1.9 burn rate is higher
FX is just not accurate when it comes to fuel levels I owned two of them and GP and the GP is way way more accurate with the fuel levels.
let them fix the cylinder head cracking issues first !!! they suck , i cracked my 4th head till now !!!
im gonna sell this piece of junk trash unreliable ski & get me a seadoo
