    Don’t get me wrong, Ariana is probably one of the best singers I’ve ever heard. But is it just me or do these videos really show the difference of her voice before and after she joined victorious? Like she became so invested as Cat that her singing voice actually turned into Cat’s singing voice.
    STILL LOVE HER THO💓

      I think it's more to do with Broadway training. Have you ever watched little shop of horrors? Audrey is a 'ditsy blonde', she's shy and help back until Seymour gets her abusive partner eaten by the plant, where, in the second half, she becomes more confident. I think she was just residing with the character.

    • @Sara-pz7yw

  • @emmajsoprano

    there is nothing unhealthy about her voice though? like no one who says she's resonating unhealthily understands what resonating actually means, and she wouldn't still be able to sing that well and that full if she has been doing something wrong.

    • @Grace.Elysee
      @Grace.Elysee 6 лет назад +26

      I mean there definitely are some unhealthy techniques that shes utilizing but it's nto half as bad as people make it out to be. also yeah the resonance bullshit is so stupid.

      @GetWellSoonR.E.M. 6 лет назад +12

      She just has a few tension issues that hinder her projection. It doesn't allow her to create a fully relaxed sound. And as she ascends higher, the tension increases exponentially

    • @buterafirevocals8177
      @buterafirevocals8177 6 лет назад +2

      its just placement and tongue and jaw tension and pronunciation. when she gets up to Eb5+, she has tension. not strain but tension. she does have jaw and tongue tension. also her pronunciation isnt the best but its on purpose. she is an overall amazing vocalist she is so talented. ppl say she will lose her voice in a few years but i dont think so.

    #ari2018

    • @rishabhrox1
      @rishabhrox1 6 лет назад

      Matured? Yes....but not controlled. Her control during her early musical career was meticulous as hell and I seriously doubt she can ever achieve that sound again ever. She's still a great singer who can belt high but she'll never achieve that ease of her Broadway era ever again unless she puts her voice to work. Seeing the commotion in her personal life also, chances are slim that she'd think of her voice again, but.....yeah, #ari2008 > #ari2018 in my opinion although #ari2018 >>>>>>>> 90% of popstars in 2018.

    However i feel like she should work in her "Broadway technique" with her new music (pronunciation and even breath control) especially now since she is at her "Marco" peak of her life (basically her prime)shes so known in this world that she really doesnt have to abide by standards (im basically saying that she has her foot in the industry already so she can get more creative and be more herself so to speak)

  • @leoblack1596
    @leoblack1596 6 лет назад +33

    I agree with the lower comments below that her earlier 2nd and 3rd clips were the best. By the 2nd clip, her voice has matured (but there is a little struggle at the end [round 3:50]) and in the 3rd video, one can begin to hear her melismas [round 4:57 and 6:14] that gives her her distinct sound. By the 4th video [round 6:35], she begins to become super nasal! By the car ride in the 5th video, she is super nasal [8:40, 8:57, 9:03, 9:11, 9:16, 9:30].
    * Note: As a band director, I think the best moment in the video is 4:57 when the human voice sound like a flute.....Mozart would be proud!!!
    As I watch, I can see the gleam in his eye as he watches his sister shine in the duet. At first, I didn't realize this was her brother performing with her. I noticed it was the same guy, but when they begin substituting the word "Frankie" for "Seymour," I suspected a love interest, considering the intimacy of the original roles of the characters. When I realized that they were brother/sister, it "creeped me out" that they were singing a conjugal song AND changing the character name to the brother's actual name.....WEIRD!!! As a music educator, someone should have taught them about interpretation.

      Lee Black I have seen a couple of siblings sing this song together. And at first I too was weirded out given the relationship of the original characters. However, the song is not too inherently romantic. The lyrics themselves can easily lend themselves to fit a sibling relationship, and I actually have begun to love it as a sibling duet.

    In the third clip you can tell she starts to focus a little more on the runs and sustaining notes than the words you’d sing rather normally so they get a little pushed together and cut off so she can use her air differently (on the runs and sustained notes like I said before). Then she starts to develop her more slurred ig you can call it or the pop style she’s developed since then. (Lol I’m trying to sound like ik what I’m talking abt but that’s what I noticed)

    I think the reason why she slurs so much is because of the somewhat lisp cat had, and ari just developed cats singing voice to be her actual own voice. Dictation is super important in theatre, but for hair spray live, they were just trying to show off each individual leads voice, not actually put in the different mechanics for a good sounding show, not to mention the fact that they only had once chance to get it right without messing up in front of the whole world. That part is the only sloppy part i saw, i loved watching the whole show on tv!!!

      Jasmin Menzies I think a lot of that has to do with her theater background. People trained in theater have better technique than pop singers. I think she lost a lot of what she had in recent years.

      She’s getting a healthier singing technique. It was healthy for Broadway and became bad until sweetener was released. She changed her technique for sweetener and is becoming better again.

      Abby Beardsley you don’t lose technique she definitely hasn’t lost her theatrical tones, she just doesn’t have to use it for “pop” music both genres have completely different techniques
