Thanks so much for watching and the comment. Unfortunately a lot of small, yet beautiful villages in Japan like this are at risk of extinction. I wanted to film and share them before they are completely vanished.
Thanks for the comment and subscribing.! I think it’s simply because of depopulation, like young people have moved out for their jobs or conveniences and never come back. That is very common in this area and rural area all around Japan. I went to another abandoned village and found an interesting inscription left by past villagers, that says something about it. I will post the footage some time.
@@WanderersArchive I asked because, for ghost towns and villages, often the cause for abandon is the fact that the resource around which they were built is gone, or irrelevant. Here seems to be a different thing, or maybe something I do not understand..
I think it true if you include people to the resources, as for example forestry which is supposed to be one of the primary industry in this area needs multiple, esp. young people to do the job. At the same time, it became so difficult to earn living by forestry than it used to be, importing woods from another country is a lot cheaper now. So the resource is still there but became kind of irrelevant like you say.. As English is my second language, actually I am not very confident of using the word “abandoned” in the title. For instance, I know a village near my hometown where only one old man lives now. There used to be more people but he is the last one. My question is if it is possible or appropriate to call the village “abandoned”, when he dies?
@@WanderersArchive English isn't my first language either and I am not a specialist on the subject in any language, so this is just my opinion. I think you can start calling a town or village abandoned if the vast majority of the people are not there any more, the vast majority of buildings are uninhabited and the social life is pretty much over. Even if there is one person, or very few persons still living there. This is very interesting information to me. I am really glad I have asked. Thank you very much! Keep in touch!
I see. We actually have two different words in Japanese to describe those situations when a village is completely abandoned and when it is expected to discontinue in very near future like I said the village with one person, so just wondered. I will ask it to somebody as well when I get a chance. Thanks so much for bringing up this topic , I find it really interesting. I'll keep in touch with you.!
Liked and subscribed. Great place to explore, keep up the good work!

This is beautiful, albeit slightly spooky. Any idea why the village is abandoned? Subscribed.

平泉寺ですか?
平泉寺ではないです、北東の山の方です。
北谷とかトチガミヤの辺りでしょうか
もしかして荒土かも
