FYI your webcam placement perfectly blocks where cards on the stack go, making it more difficult to read the text of any given card. I would recommend moving it to the left side of the screen for future Arena videos.
Glad someone said something. Thanks. It's bad enough that the images are tiny for most people watching these vids on their phones, but then it became impossible for ANYONE to see the stack. 😅
I knew most of the cards since I poor over the spoilers when a set comes out, but I'd never seen the alchemy cards since they're not legal in formats I play. Spent most of the games wildly confused. @@w0e.666
57:45 - The best way to think of extra turns is like a stack (see 500.7). If extra turns are gained they are essentially pushed onto a stack of extra turns (not the normal spell stack) and pop off as they are taken until the normal turn cycle continues. Or as the rule says in LIFO (last in first out) order. So in this case if both time walk and the time walk copy had resolved LSV's copy would resolve first pushing a turn onto the "turn stack" (while he was slated to already take the usual next turn). Then opp's time walk would resolve and he would push an extra turn onto this "turn stack". So in the end it would have resulted in opp finishing the current turn, then opp taking an extra turn, then LSV taking an extra turn, and then LSV getting his normal turn as things went back to the usual alternating turns. Or if it helps the turn order would look like this: Opp's Normal Turn (Current turn at the 57:45 timestamp) Opp's Extra Turn (Resolved 2nd & Added to "turn stack" 2nd) LSV's Extra Turn (Resolved 1st & Added to "turn stack" 1st) LSV's Normal Turn (Per normal turn order) PS - If a single spell or ability would grant multiple players extra turns simultaneously they are pushed onto the stack in APNAP (active player non-active player) order. Which is just a fancy way of saying in "turn order" starting with the person whose turn it is. This of course is just an FYI and doesn't apply here because these are two distinct spells resolving and so they resolve in the order the stack dictates.
Great cube it looks like, tons of cool alchemy cards. On a small note, maybe for these arena cubes you could move your camera to the left so we can read the cards on the stack!
18:35 really surprised Sedgmoor Witch didn't even get a mention, I think it's great in this format! The 3 life ward is brutal if you can even just get a single swing in, 6 life and maybe some 1/1s to boot.
Would love to see more of this! I enjoy the vintage cube content, but as someone who doesn't draft it and isn't familiar with all of the cards in it, I do find it hard to follow sometimes (especially during the draft). Meanwhile, I'm deep into this cube on arena and very excited to get your input on it!
Not sure how much time it takes for editing/post-production, but in the future, would it be possible to get time-sensitive videos like this a bit earlier? Seems a shame that this video dropped right AFTER the Arena Open that you mentioned in the opening as opposed to before. That said, quality content as always! And at least the Arena cube is still up
I would love to know why you immediately knew that playing 18 lands was the way to go for this deck? You had many great cards that didn't make the cut and your curve was low. Plus fixing and cantrips. I wouldn't have even thought of playing 18 lands in that spot. How can I improve my game by knowing when that is correct?
luis, having your camera there is a pain. I don't even know all the arena cards but not being able to read them in the windows when they are cast is even more infuriating
Hey LSV, note for the future: Could you not have your face cam blocking the popups for the triggered abilities? It makes it so we can't read them and is pretty annoying.
I don't think I've seen anyone actually like them, either. They completely alter the meta from paper if they're remotely playable. If they're not playable, then they may as well not exist. I think they would have been better suited for an Arena-only Un-set. I'd probably enjoy them if that were the case.
@@nekrataali I genuinely like (most) alchemy cards and have never really gotten why people hate them so much Most of them are well-designed and fun to play with, and in theory they can always nerf/buff things that are too strong or weak I think the issue is not really with the cards themselves but how wizards handles alchemy as a format alchemy packs aren't rewarded as part of the mastery pass, and alchemy drafts aren't always available. Also, alchemy cards aren't released at the same time as normal sets so they don't get any of the preview season hype. That means there's not much incentive to get into alchemy unless you *really* want to because you're not incidentally rewarded with alchemy packs and have to actively seek out alchemy packs in the store or spend wildcards and that leads to a situation where you basically have a small group of hypercompetitive players who have actively decided to get really into alchemy and spend all their resources getting the broken chase cards like crucias, and the majority who have basically no exposure to it at all There's no middle ground of players who just mash together whatever cards they have in their collection and roll with it I think a very common experience for many people is they've tried playing a game of alchemy with their standard deck + some random upgrades, then their opponent plays a Crucias, they read the card, and then just decide never to touch alchemy again because they realize that in order to have a shot of winning they also need to spend a ton of resources getting the broken chase cards If wizards wants alchemy to be a real format people play then they really need to provide more options for easing yourself into it, like releasing alchemy cards at the same time as main sets and having alchemy always be an alternate draft option, or making the mastery pass reward players with alchemy packs
100% valid opinion, and seems like a lot of people share it, but alchemy cards are one of the reasons I play on Arena at all. I've been playing Magic for 20+ years and the new design space is interesting to me. I also really enjoy Oracle of the Alpha, it leads to some pretty fun sequences. Yes, it introduces variance but that doesn't bother me, Magic has had that issue for awhile. If anything there's less variance now because various hand smoothing and flood insurance mechanics have become evergreen.
The LSV head overlay in a pretty awful spot to be honest. I'm sure there isn't a "great spot" but the area where cards hover on the stack has to be the worst one by a mile 😆
Julita in the thumbnail? Ashamed to say I fell for the cute clickbait. Not that I don't watch every bit of LSV content anyway. Also, if you read this, tell Gaby her streams are missed and she is appreciated.
"I thought I might lose the game, but instead I'm not going to." -- solid advice, LSV

That last play where you kill the phoenix, exile it, get a copy of it, and block their dragon was so brutal
there's no way the opponent knew it was coming lol
Attacking with the crab is not a punt, it's a feature.
This was a really fun draft to watch. Was great to see your genuine joy of seeing what new cards were added and what you were wheeling. Thank you!
Bloodchief's Thirst the Hard Evidence crab - I can't even LMFAO 200 IQ play
Thumbnail of you and Jules smiling >>> goofy reaction photoshop. Love this.
Glad you picked up the arena cube. This is by far the funnest one they’ve made.
Knowledgeable and fun. It’s a pleasure watching you draft.
46:19 gotta commend this opponent for cleaning the crab of the table before he left!

Most wholesome adorable Thumbnail ever. Thank you for the content as always.
Arena cube is so much fun! I hope we get more of these drafts while the cube is still available.
"Leyline of Crab", lmao. One of many reasons why LSV is the goat.
Just got home from school this is a welcome surprise
Cute!
It's been going like this for me too. 29 insane playables with good mana base. Deckbuilding is very hard in this format
"Leyline of Crab" is a wildly underrated line. Love ya LSV
30:24 Opp: You have insulted me the last time, Crab! Have at you!
Ive always been astonished how powerful they made scarab god. It completely takes over a game if not killed, AND is unkillable
Right!? If that thing hits the table and you're not in white, despair. At least long Sheoldred dies to removal.
erm tear asunder(fuck the scarab god)@@nemmielicious

Eyyyy I was in lsv’s pod for this cube
LSV opens a box of "Oops! All Bangers!"
Wow, that draft could not have gone much smoother.
Well played sir!
The real MVP for me was: Hard Evidence
The crab was really putting in some big work in these games
Hey LSV (or editors), you might want to use youtube timestamps for the draft / deck construction / beginning of rounds.
33:10, totally missed a crab attack!
I lost it when you "a little fruit ninja" , followed by sound effects. Lololol
Leyline of Crab ...wouldn't mind a print of that!

Deciding which removal or counterspell to use is one of my Favorite Things to do in this Game.
Please move your camera to the other side during gameplay so we can read the cards! Otherwise great draft
Approach in the cube is insanity
I like the Arena gameplay -- I may be shallow, but Arena is fun to watch!
This deck was awesome. Your play was great! No quit. Really fun 7-0!
Big smile seeing the “GhostDadMTG” name. Wonder who that is? Good to see the humor is still there for the misetings/GG crew.
loooove me some lsv arena cube! this deck is really sweet
41:50 has me dying
that was just an insane deck and insane gameplay. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
I love those sleeves so much
Oh my god the deck isn’t an orderly stack either. That’s awesome
I’m a simple man. I see an LSV draft, I watch and like
Ok, were do I get those sleeves?
Who was in that draft pod 0_0? This felt unfairly good

than you should start drafting it :) its amazing, arena cube is nothing against it

Evidently, the crab is too strong. It keeps eating a burn spell😂😂😂

With that title I was sure you were gonna play Oracle of the Alpha :D
This was pretty brutal.
Interesting to see when playing against "the" LSV Arena players:
- Are courteous
- Are not salty
- Play in a reasonable tempo
not consistently, i've seen people do the full use every possible bit of the rope to waste your time when you're losing bullshit against him

After the draft I felt like this deck could battle in the vintage cube if it had like 1 piece of power and maybe upgrade 2 or 3 cards.
Approach of the second sun is the best card in the cube.
LSV stomping cube noobs. This was brutal.
I clicked cause of the dog thumbnail photo

Deck has a lot of mana sinks that requires you dont miss a land drop to be played on curve. Also, has a couple of looters and discard outlets
Obligatory algorithmic contribution
Love when LSV gets cocky, especially when his deck is the nuts so it’s justified hahahaha
Forth Craborlingas!
This cube is awesome, it killed any hype I had for wilds of eldraine after the spoilers got released...
Ive been crushing with mono white. Everyone passes me the white gas
Do the hermit and crab fuse to fusion crab?!

Leyline of crab
Petition to call Seasoned Pyromancer Seasy Peasy moving forward?
Why you put your face int he same place of all spell?😊
Other drafters: fighting for their lives
LSV: seeing how fast he can get the 7-0
Crab was MVP of the deck
You don't get to copy spells with Lutri + See Double, Lutri only copies on cast. Tragic design in the same set of cards as Lurrus and Jegantha tbh
This is what happens when LSV leavs MTGO and drafts cube with us plebs.
Love your content, cannot handle when you have the sound of the game though 😅
Scarab God is so busted
